And it's Groundhog Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And it's Groundhog Day

Phil saw his shadow and has predicted 6 more weeks of winter. It'll be mid 70's here today with some clouds. Nothing really planned. My jigsaw puzzle made it out of the box yesterday and some of the edge put together. Lots more freezer meals made it into my freezer. And that's my big news.

Good morning Beth and all who follow. Been out and cleared snow off the driveway already. Sweet neighbors were out early and did my sidewalk for me as they did yesterday. Sure glad we did it yesterday since we got about the same amount overnight as we had yesterday. When I thaw out I need to clear Lola off! The temps are down and the wind is picking up so guess we’ll be dealing with blowing snow for the next couple of days. Maybe a bit of sun predicted for tomorrow so something to look forward to! Somehow I’m not surprised that Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter. Kinda sad they weren’t able to have the normal crowd and activities. I’m sure it brings a lot of money to the town. Sign of the times, I suppose. So that’s my exciting day so far! Dentist appointment this afternoon so will have to pull the car out of the garage for the first time in several days! Have a good day and stay safe.

Got up for golf this morning. I haven't played for 3 weeks. There were 8 of us today so that was good. But now I am wiped out. They wanted me to play another round but I just couldn't. Still don't have my energy back yet. I get winded very easily yet.

I need to make a run to WM today for more soup, and cat food for the stray kitties. and do some things around here before heading back to work tomorrow. Am so far behind just on general things like trash, laundry, dishes, etc. All my plants have died due to lack of watering, except for my hibiscus. My tomato plant is dead but the tomatoes that are on there are still turning red from the sun.

Hopefully, things will be a little less busy this week now that a lot of people have had their hair cut this past week and weekend. Another one of our locations opened up yesterday so that will help too. As long as I can sit down for a little bit each hour or so and then get a timely lunch break, I will be OK.

It is sunny here today. It actually got pretty warm while playing golf. Mornings are pretty chilly but once the sun is out, it warms up really fast.

I have a neighbor across the street who lives in Canada and isn't down here this year. We were told to pick any fruit from trees on lots where people weren't here for the season and I know they have an orange tree in their back yard. I took a look yesterday and it is full so I think I will go over and pick what I can reach for me and my next door neighbor and let others know about it. Some have ladders and fruit pickers.

I am sure those out east feel like winter will last forever with all the snow they are getting! I would prefer not to get into the spring and summer temps too soon here either.

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sorry to hear about Phil's shadow and all the snow out east, but winter is not so bad here because it seems to be warming up a bit. At least I can wear my shorts and t-shirt without a jacket! High supposed to be 78 today, here north of Phoenix. A few clouds this morning, but sunny now. :D

I stopped at Camping World yesterday to get a replacement shower head, plus stopped and got a ton of groceries from Walmart. For example, I decided to get two bags of sugar and a large bag of flour, extra paper goods, and other staples. Plus I got three books for my Ohio grandkids and some bags and candy to ship to them. Anyway, had stuff spread all over the place, so this morning I did a major pick-up. So, the place is back to normal with stuff put away. Still have a dishpan full of dishes to do.

I washed out three pairs of shorts and two shirts last night. Two pairs of the shorts are still drying because I ran out of "drip" room last night. I have more shirts than shorts, and I am not completely out of shorts, so I am OK for a while. Now I have to go out to find the dumpster to toss the three small bags of trash I have!! Got rid of all my recycling I have been storing last week at Gilbert Ray Campground. So nice to have recycling at a campground!

I am cooking a Mississippi Roast in the crockpot and it sure smells good. I am going to freeze it and bring it for the potluck. I wish the orange tree across the road had oranges this year. The hurricanes blew all the oranges off before they could get ripe. My neighbor's tree is full of oranges but the oranges have bees in them. I didn't know bees would do that. The feed store has fruit trees for sale. I should try to grow another Satsuma tree. About the time I get something big enough to produce a storm kills it.

In Louisiana they use a Nutria Rat instead of a Groundhog. I haven't watched the news today so don't know if they are doing anything this year. Maybe that's something the zoo in New Orleans does. I don't remember.

I still have a few more loads to go to the camper. I keep remembering things not on my list. I can't find one of Sugar's leashes. Maybe it's in the car.
