Good Morning All, rain started last night and continues. A good day to stay in and try to organize the apartment clutter. It’s surprising how making space for a tree creates such havoc. It’s a 5 ft pencil tree that stands on a small bin. Under the tree sits a ceramic lit Class C rv. Will get the tree set up and straighten the branch’s, decorating another day. Have lights and garland for the balcony but that can wait too. Do you see a pattern here. This site is my daily planner. Tina, warm thoughts.

Good morning Shirl and all who follow. I made pumpkin pecan waffles this morning so help yourself.
It’s trying to snow here but the temperature is staying above freezing for right now. If the temp continues to drop we could get up to 6 inches of wet heavy snow. Yuck! My son is going to help me get out the artificial tree, so I’ll be moving things around like Shirl Some Christmas cards have already arrived and since I’m home I will return holiday greetings. We need to be mindful of others this year more than ever.

All you positive energy sent this way is appreciated and contribute to my universe. I agree with BJ that these weeks and months have presented our mind body and spirits some pretty novel circumstances to navigate and sort out. None of us were given road maps. All we can do is what we can do with the energy and knowledge that we have at the time. We keep moving.

Only two more sleeps until surgery. The GHL will be let off at the hospital at 5:30 am. Because of the increasing virus numbers no visitors policy is again in effect. I know that surgery is not a magic wand but until proven wrong I am going to believe that it will be a good thing and an improvement.

My gut has been unhappy the last couple of days and I have been taken my meds in order to remain sane As I told Louise I look forward to returning to the days that Audrey and Lark were what kept me sane.

Be kind be safe be as healthy as you can. Keep moving forward.

I agree also. I've continued working during the pandemic, just following way more protocols. Washing my hands constantly and wearing a mask and, most particularly, avoiding those who don't want/won't wear masks when near. I don't go places I don't feel comfortable going which is why almost all my shopping is pickup or online. The few times I've gone to most stores I see more people invading others space and maskless, making me most uncomfortable. I skipped my eye appt last spring but decided to make one before coming here. I was really happy with the office I went to in Pahrump. My temp was taken, they sanitized everything I would be touching, including where my forehead would rest and everyone was masked. I'd like to see some of these protocols continue forever. But I'm not crazy about cleaning the products I bring home like in the beginning. That said, if you do, I understand.

I'm still lazing in bed. Ty got up while I've been writing this so I'll probably follow shortly. I have today off and other than doing laundry, no plans. Yesterday was good at work again... And after finishing inputting the received orders into the computer, I was asked if I wanted to stay or leave early. I elected leaving early. Things are slow now and many have had their hours cut. If be ok with some shorter days or losing one. If course, doing paperwork means I get to sit more, which helps my feet lol

Tina, I'm with you in hoping and believing this surgery should be a major turn around for you. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed also.

Another sunny winter day in Northern California. Nothng new there.
I plan to get lights out and some decor up. Still trying to figure out if it's ok to drive to tree farm for a tree. Otherwise our fallback is a years old artificial tree Mel picked out. Neither Chris or I like artificial trees, but we may have no choice.

Beth, have you ever been to Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge? It is between Death Valley and Pahrump. It is well worth the effort of the drive down some dirt roads. There are several springs there which produce a long stream, and both are full of pupfish.

Finished proctoring my last exam, but had almost no sleep last night. My son is picking me up to take me to grocery store in a couple of minutes, but still waiting to see what will happen in this area with the shutdowns looming. Son and grandson are getting haircuts today while they can.

A long time ago. When I drove past coming in I made a mental note that I'll go again on one of my drives into Pahrump. With my food provided, I won't make very many, but still will need to go occasionally.

Lyn, I watch Christmas movies to see decorations! Have leftover snow and the mountains are pretty!
Tina, wishing you all the best Monday! I didn't go through near what you have, but know it will be a big relief.
Shirl and Peggy, I might get out my Christmas mug! Actually have a few things with me for decorating.
Beth, just had cousins from New Jersey at Death Valley.

The town now has a webcam focused on the main area and looks as though most are wearing masks. The festival was cancelled but people are still coming to see the lights. They probably should have left the lights off.

I'm fine with this weather, but I didn't start the water drip early enough yesterday. Oops! Froze the sewer hose so couldn't leave water running. Plus heated water hose froze again. I'll get it figured out.

Well, it’s past the 1st of the month check in….I did say “Rabbits” shortly after midnight. And it’s also past morning coffee, I’m having my afternoon Coke Zero. Tina, I’ll be thinking of you on Monday. Missy had her gall bladder taken out several years ago and she said it improved her health in more ways than one.

My Christmas shopping is done and the UPS and FedEx men are probably wondering if I died since there hasn’t been anything delivered for about a week! During the week I did some of the decorating outside. Today Sean and I set up the Nativity scene in the front yard. I’m sure that when he made it for me, he didn’t plan that he’d have to set it up every year! We also put up the tree in the living room. After that he made a quick exit before I could think of anything else! Now I must get that decorated.

Like the rest of you I have been staying pretty close to home. Didn’t even go to Bronc’s Christmas operetta. The school live screened it so I watched it from the comforts of my own house. The kids all had on masks, so it was difficult to understand what they were saying or singing unless you recognized the music! Had to make a trip to Yankton to meet my sister so we could exchange some things. Made a quick trip into Dollar Tree to find some goofy stuff for the grand’s stockings. Everyone had on masks and were good about socially distancing. Left home at about 9:00 drove 38 miles..shopped….home by 11:00. So, it was mostly windshield time.

It doesn’t seem like December since we’ve been having 50 for temps lately. The snow we had in October is long gone.

The virus isn’t slowing down in South Dakota, but our governor refuses to issue any mandates. She has a habit of keeping us in the spotlight, but never for anything positive.

I did post something last night but it is gone not sure why or where...
got most of what I wanted/needed to do done today ... still have a bunch of plants in my truck will need to plant them
soon... but it's been cool going to warm up a bit so that might make me get out and plant the containers hopefully I didn't
get to many plants for what I have...
I try to make trips count doesn't always work but do try
one of my to do things today was to put batteries in my toothbrush I don't know why they make them so hard but I finally got the thing opened batteries in and with a lot of aggression I got it closed.... only to find that it wont start which indicates that I put the batteries in wrong can't get the base off so I can see guess too much aggression next tooth brush is going to be electric!!!!

Was a very busy day today! I guess yesterday was even worse! Both stylists did over 30 haircuts each!! I could never do that many in one day! I think I did 18 today and that was a lot! Everyone wanted to get their last cut in before we shut down.

So our hospitals got down to 12% capacity today so we have 24 hours from 1pm today to shut down. So technically, we are to close at 1pm tomorrow. However, the idiot Riverside Sheriff decided he is not going to enforce the shutdown. So, according to my manager, the owner is thinking about not shutting us down. However, I believe the CA Board of Cosmetology will have an issue with that. Both my manager and I have decided that once the shutdown is officially started, that we will not come to work. Not sure if the CA Board could suspende our personal licenses or not, but we don't want to take a chance on that. The owner is a mask nay-sayer and thinks this whole pandemic is a farce. So I guess I will find out one way or the other tomorrow.

I am having another issue with my mini-splits. The icon for heat is a "sun" symbol and the icon for the AC is a snowflake. Well, to me, they look almost exactly alike! So I keep putting it on the wrong one! I need to tape a little "H" and "C" above where the symbols light up on the front of the units so I can tell what they are for!

Went looking for Christmas decorations after work (looking for a small tree and small ornaments to put in front of the shed), but everything is gone! I went to 3 different stores and pretty much all are cleaned out already. So will decide if I want to go ahead and put up my big tree or not. I did buy a light-up trailer decoration to put in the window. It was only $5 at WM so it will be something sort of Christmassy.
