Lazy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Lazy Thursday

Postby BarbaraRose » Thu Oct 22, 2020 1:27 pm

I got a message last night from my manager saying she accidently scheduled too many on for today and wanted to know if I wanted the day off. I said heck yeah!! Didn't get much done yesterday. Now I just need to get my butt out of bed and get back to my list from yesterday.

Power came back on around 3:30 yesterday. Didn't take too long for the house to cool off again.

Hope you all have a good day! :D

Hi barbie & everyone!

I've enjoyed following all your posts and thank you for helping me keep my sanity. we're experiencing family situations on our end that are consuming every minute of our day. Sadly, it's not all good but Steve is helping me through this. On a good note, the permit has been pulled for our lot and the work should begin this Tuesday. we have ordered a patio set and furniture for the casita. All of them have an 8 - 10 week lead time because of the virus, but it will take that long for the casita to be complete.

Barbie, I'm glad your new AC is working right now. And doing a good job.

Irmi, I'm sorry for the family situations.

Amazon recommended I ask for a refund on the missing package of it didn't show up by yesterday. It didn't and tracking wasn't showing anything new, so I put through a refund request. Then I went back on the site and ordered something else to replace it. Time to laugh or cry... The original order showed up this afternoon. The new order has already shipped so I can't cancel it. The original order was more expensive but I think better, so I've decided to keep it. Now I have to return the next order when it arrives. And contact customer service to have the right item refunded. Lol

I can't believe it's turning 4 right now. I have no idea where this day has gone. And another 1/2 hour has passed without this getting sent.

Good evening. As I am sure you already know, Beth, you can refuse the next order and not have to pay to ship it back. It will automatically get refunded. That happens to me a lot when things are "lost" along the way. (I think Amazon is going to ask for a welfare check on me pretty soon since I haven't ordered from them for several weeks now! :o )

I managed to get a few creative projects worked on today. I had bought a metal flower sculpture for the front of my house but the colors weren't quite right so I painted it the colors of my house and added some glitter to it. Need to get my friend Dave to put it up for me since it is going up above my window (that has a metal awning) in front.

Was plugging in my golf cart when a couple came by and we started talking. Then she asked "what the heck happened to your tree?!". They agree it looks awful. :(

Also did a small sample area of the primer paint I bought for the outside trim around the windows since what I painted on it before started peeling off right away. Will paint the teal over that tomorrow and see if it sticks or not. If it does, I can paint the rest of the trim with that before painting the teal. First I have to remove the teal I painted on the one window last year that is partly peeled off now. I think power washing it will do it.

I bought a print of 3 horses at Hobby Lobby awhile back that I want to hang on the side of my house under the carport. It has teal and orange colors on it so will go with the colors on the house nicely. Just painted a clear UV protectant spray on it today. I want the house to look nice this season.

I have a couple other projects, one being adding some white lattice to the lower half of the railing around my deck, and the other is a flower box for the front of the deck with faux flowers in it. Bought the flowers at HL the other day for half price. Just need to drill holes in the plastic flower box and fasten it to the railing and add the flowers in the foam I put inside it.

Last thing will be to get some tomato and strawberry plants and a couple of hibiscus plants for my pots.

Have fun on your projects, Barbie. I rarely see the packages get delivered. If I do happen to catch this one, yes, I'll refuse it. But that's the good thing about Amazon. I just put in for a return and they do a pick up, no charge.

Didn't get much done today. I did fill the trash can to be picked up tomorrow. I never did mow but it didn't rain. The grass isn't that long so can wait.

I would have a hard time refusing a package because the only time I see them is if Sugar hears the truck and barks. Glad I didn't hear the pears being delivered so I could tell them they weren't mine. lol The pears are good but not worth what they would cost to order. My ex- daughter-in-law is always wanting to send me something. She had sent me some dried fruit one time that was good. I'll have to tell her I liked that.

Irmi, hope your family situations work out. I'm just glad I don't live any closer to my sister and her family. Harold said if we lived any closer to them we would have to move. There is alway some kind of drama going on there. My son is always asking if I have something I need help with. If I tell him what I would like to do I seldom hear from him. I have a walkway coming up to the back porch that needs work. I need to decide if I'm going to try to repair it or find someone to rebuild it. I have been patching on it for the last couple of years. I'm sure everyone that does that kind of work is busy now after all the damage from the hurricanes.

a somewhat busy day....sorta in that I wasn't a home... got up and took Shadow to the groomer's she is in Bountiful about 30 miles away... while waiting for him I went for something to eat then over to dd's house for a visit while she worked... and I waited... it seemed like I was in the wrong lane or something regardless where I wanted to go... and that I hit every stoplight that I came too.... I decided that Arby's sounded good so decided to go to one in the old neighborhood... not far from dd's house... so was on a street and thought I need to turn on California then thought no it's on another street I can go to it but couldn't remember the name of the street turned to soon so ended up in an area that I had to turn North taking me away from the street I wanted to so thought ok then I will go on California ... nope wrong lane back on Freeway and off at the next exit which was further south than I wanted to be but did get there...then off to dd's visited a bit the baby decided that he was scared of me but I am not around him that much understandable... went to pick up Shadow and was going to stop by walmart but do to the timing decided that I could do that another day.... I do have water in the tank and I can add some but don't want to much and will need the hose on the trip so going to get another hose... saw an rv with a blue hose to his rig...
The groomer asked if I wanted to go a bit shorter said ok he is really short and of course tonight it is going to be freezing then I went to my eldest daughter needed them to help me drop off the truck to have the oil changed and to see if I have a big oil leak so I brought Shadow home... we were going out for supper then met them at the shop out to supper and then granddaughter brought me home... so even though it was a busy day it was uneventful ...
have my electric throw on feels good...
need to accomplish some things tomorrow though probably lots of calls ect... or just wrap up in this throw and read it maybe that kind of day
Judi I meant to mention to you that I have wrapped hose with those "Noodles" get the one with the slit in it insulates the hose pretty well
you all have a good day

It was so warm here yesterday I turned the A/C back on, it was 78 in the house with the windows open. Supposed to get cold again today and rain/ colder for the next week. I enjoyed being outside yesterday, met a couple of friend at nearby park and we sat by the lake and had a long talk.
I've had some recent Amazon glitches lately, I got a message yesterday saying part of an order I had received had an item missing and did I still want it. Nothing was missing from the order I received. About a month ago I order 3 bras, opened the package and it was tea pods and a small shirt. I called customer service and got a nice lady right away. We had a great chat while she corrected the order. I sent the original package back and received the correct order. A week later, I received the order again...with no charge. I guess mix ups are to be expected with all their orders. I think we better order early for the holidays!
Thinking of you Irmi, ((hugs))
