Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good afternoon! Just past morning here but there’s always time for coffee or tea! Just got back from a very cold trip to the elk country! Days were nice but once the sun started going down so did the temps! Camped with two friends so it was a good time! They went out really early yesterday morning and got to view some elk! Since I’m not a morning person Rascal and I opted out! Stayed nice and warm in Lola! I bundled up and Rascal and I went out for a quick walk and then back to coffee and warmth until they returned! By then it was starting to warm up! We all packed up soon after and headed home. For once I listened to the GPS and came straight home! No dirt road adventure this year! Since the sites only have 15 amp I was mostly dependent on my propane. This was really the first time for me to use propane for just about everything so was a bit nervous on how much I’d need. I filled it before I left, used it and then since this was probably my last time taking Lola out I stopped and had the tank topped off. I was surprised that I only used such a small amount! I hear what you all say about it but guess I needed to experience it for myself. Next time I won’t be so concerned about it! Still a learning curve!
There’s no cell service up where I was so I’m trying to catch up with all the posts. Tina, good you discovered the leak when you did! If you come through here again know that my driveway is available to you if you’re inclined to stop. Roadtreks fit quite well! Karen, been thinking about you. Sounds like you’ve had a couple more difficult days. But so good to know you and pup are safe. Beth, amazing that you are still busy at the store. It’s definitely been a strange year for camping. Talked to the owner where I was and she indicated it’s been different for them too. We even made our reservations for next September! I think a tradition is born! We love seeing and hearing the elk but the best is just sitting around the campfire and just visiting. There wasn’t much activity with the elk around us but was fun watching and hearing the horses that people bring in for trail rides. And this time it here we’re a lot of them all around us. Rascal still surprises me with his attitude when they come by, he usually just glances at them and that’s about it. Never says a word! So that’s about it for me. Hope all of you out in CA are staying safe. I have friends and family out there and all is well with them as of this morning so that’s a good thing. Take care all and stay safe.

That sounds like such a fun trip! I need to find some nearby camping buddies for trips under 4 hours away. Haven't seen elk in years since my parents and I traveled north on summer vacations. There used to be a viewing area where there was a large field where Tule Elk browsed. Can't even recall where it was somewhere between San Francisco and the Oregon border!
It's a beautiful blue sky day with clean air. Supposed to get in high 80's but yesterday did not get as warm as predicted, so hopefully it will be that today.
My neck is hurting this morning but at least I slept better. Going to try to load stuff for good will in the car later. I have Curves at 5:30, so I browned, then put in IP a pork butt piece with Mexican type seasonings, to shred tonight for tacos. Makes dinner easy when I cook ahead. Slow cook stuff starting to sound good with weather about 20 degrees where it was two weeks ago.
Judy, glad you solved the moth issue! What's nuisance!
Beth, you are winding down your final season but I'm betting lots of people are really trying to take advantage of the last of this camping season, having been so restricted so long. Then you are off to new things. Sure hope weather holds so you can go east as planned.
Karen, you remain in my thoughts.
Have a good day everyone.

It is good to have a strong connection with your mechanic's shop. They got the rig in and in 24 hours. The leak was in a filler tube coming from the back towards the front. As they said sometimes those hoses last forever and sometimes they don't. I was able to contact Cindy (who confirmed that Jane was still welcome to come visit) and everyone else. I probably won't get over to CT to see Peggy this trip because of losing the day but hopefully I will be parked at Lori's and Dock's by tomorrow evening. My son and family were still willing to put the welcome mat out for Friday afternoon as long as I promise to take my temperature before I arrive.....

Lark finds traveling in the rig without a crates stressful. But then it took her 3 years to welcome a ride in the car to go hiking. She seems to be doing better each time but I don't think it will ever be fun. Audrey on the other hand is comfortable most everywhere. She's got this!

I chickened out boondocking tonight and paid for a campground and electric. I will fell much better after I get some solar. I also need to learn a few more operating systems better. My motto is to challenge myself to learn new things but I don't have to learn everything all at once.......

Tomorrow is another day. Think I will run over and take a shower before the final doggy walk........

Congrats BJ! That was quick! One less thing to worry about!

Sheila, with testing eggs, I put them in water to see if they float or sink. If they do anything but go straight to the bottom and stay there, they get tossed, especially if I am making brownies and eating some of the batter.

Judy, glad to hear you are taking a smoother Jeep tour. I had such a headache and backache after the tour I was on! I would also prefer a gentle river rafting trip. I don't need too much excitement there either. I like your description of the desert bushes not being bushy enough!

I got our motel reservations made today for the trip.

AC seems to be working fine today so hoping it stays that way now.

I have a question...how do I get my bars at the top and bottom of my laptop screen to stay showing? I must have hit a button somewhere that made them disappear until I move my curser to the edges. I have done this several times before but can never remember how to fix it. So you techie people, help me out!
