Sunshine Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:38 am

Good Morning from sunny and starting to warm up northern Michigan. After a week of gloriously cool weather with highs near 70 to mid 70’s, no humidity, lows in 50’s, great for sleeping, we a headed for a hot, humid weekend they say. :| And looks like next week will be staying warm as well.

Beth, sounds like the gremlin that was here causing me all kinds of trouble, has decided to come visit you. Things are back to normal here for the most part. My new internet modem is working great, my refrigerator has been repaired :D , no more living out of the cooler, Pipers UTI is cleared up, just dealing with some leaking in her sleep issues which we are working on (vet and I). I reinstalled the blind I had repaired last fall, back into my trailer. Put out slide and awning yesterday, checked to make sure fridge was operating. All systems are a go. Yard has been mowed, trimed, weeded. HOA sub entrance is mowed and trimmed. Can you tell I was taking advantage of the cool weather  Now I am free to putts around till time to start packing the trailer to head north in a week or so. Am pa ting some woodcraft yad birds on the hot day, so will be doing that this weekend.

Need to head to town this morning. Now that fridge is fixed, I can restock some things I held off buying rather than hassle with them in the cooler. Credit Union on the list as well as hardware store to get new piece of plexiglas for frailer screen door. Then will reinstall that. Will see where tbe rest of the day goes.

So best get moving here. Hope you all have a nice day, stay safe, wear your masks, wash your hands etc., I can just hear, “Yes, Mother” coming from out there

Good morning Sue & all who follow,
Sue, I'm exhausted just reading your post. Maybe I should just go back to bed. Glad everything is looking up for you.
Judy, I agree, its crazy that they've closed laundry room in campgrounds forcing you to public ones. Be safe out there.
Beth, it does sound like Mr. Murphy moved from Sue's to your place. Hope he moves on soon. Be safe!
Karen, I should probably look at Pack and Track. Best to do that while I'm sorting thru the storage buckets I have here.
Barbie, glad it's cooling down a bit Hope it sticks around for a while.

I picked up my SIL from the airport yesterday. The international terminal at LAX was eerily empty! Almost scary. He said there were only about 30 passengers on the plane so they were able to distance themselves really well. He wore his face mask all the way home in the car so he wouldn't endanger me - very thoughtful of him. He only saw his mom, dad, grandpa & 1 friend while he was there - staying mostly at a hotel away from everyone else. We talked about the health system in France vs the US. It is reassuring to know when he & my DD move there she'll have access to a more fair system than we have here.

We're enjoying cooler temps here in the LA area. They're going to paint our building next week so I need to bring as much as possible in from my patio area. I'll move the storage shreds & bigger plants into the center of the patio area & bring everything else just inside the patio doors. Looking forward to have this done.

Take care out there.

Morning All, same ole here. Last week heat, hurricane/storm and this week rain and flooding, geeezz. Giving up on container tomato plant. Wanted tomatoes I could slice but got little ones and all at once. Had to move plants inside last week because of storm so just chopped that sucker to pieces. Afraid to eat lettuce so don’t need little tomatoes. Afraid to eat the white onions from Walmart since their red ones had salmonella. Guess I will find some tree bark to gnaw on. :? At my age it is very difficult trying to keep up with daily dangers. Good thing I still have a box of wine and chocolates. Even if they aren’t safe I will die happy. Be safe

Shirl, I love your attitude! As far as I know, no one has died from eating chocolate!

The Apple Fire is still blazing (29,000 acres now), but has moved up into a valley north of here so the smoke is on the other side of the mountains just behind me (that is where Joshua Tree National Park is). Nice to have clear, smoke-free skies again here.

Been feeling very tired the past several days so have been sleeping a lot. Not feeling too peppy this morning either. Other than that, I feel fine.

Still no unemployment money. :( I will have to check on that today. Am dipping into savings to pay HOA and bills. Thank God for that!

Lola's doing good. She has gained some weight and is keeping up with cleaning herself now. I think between the two of us, we have gotten all her little matts out. She is looking good! Still has occasional litter box issues but not too often.

Have a good day! :D

These occasionally 5 a.m. start times for work are crazy. I don't get to sleep any earlier then in 3 or 4 hours I wake up thinking I've overslept and discover it's only 3:15 and I'm terrified if I fall back to sleep I will oversleep, so I stay up. Then shortly after 4I have to beg Ty to get up. Food didn't work. But finally the idea of going for a walk brought him out from under the covers, very reluctantly. He perked up outside but thought I was nuts telling him he had to pee AND poop. But he finally did both and I went into work. Home shortly before noon.

Linda has a hole in a tire to her truck. So she's borrowed my car to take it in to get fixed. (Long story short, her spare doesn't fit her vehicle.) Ty heard her out by the car, went up front and simply (totally quietly) watched her get in and drive it off. I certainly hope if it was a stranger he would have alerted me. Lol

Quite hot out now (90°) , but it is getting dark. Maybe we'll get some rain, although it's not predicted.. I'd just like it to cool off.

I brought Sugar for her check up. She has to be quiet for another month. The vet said her lungs still sound a little scratchy, what ever that means. She is getting more hyper by the day. I can keep her from running but not from jumping.

Got my errands run, my fish dinner and finally remembered to bring my coins to the bank. I had $40 worth. Sue reminded me to look for the plexiglas I had in one of my RV screen doors. I found one piece of it but it's too wide for the door I have now. I will bring it to the glass place and see if they can cut it for me. They are the ones that cut it in the first place. Sugar likes to lay out on the ground when we are camping and I don't want to air condition the world. I need to find a metal sewing machine bobbin and fix one of my blinds in the camper before it breaks completely. I don't know why they don't use metal in the first place. The plastic they put is always breaking.

Barbie, glad Lola is feeling better. My Annie is back to being neurotic, licking, scratching and chewing on her butt. She is not due for another flea treatment until next Sunday. I comb her and she doesn't have fleas. I left CC in the house when I went camping and I should have put him outside. He likes to chase Annie so now she is hiding behind the sofa. It might be time for another allergy shot.

Beth, I hate to have to set an alarm now too. I always wake up too early and worry I won't get up. I don't know why, I had to get up to an alarm for work for years. Harold never needed an alarm, he was usually outside by 4 or 5:00. Farmers are crazy like that.

I used to automatically wake up at 7am. Now my hours are so messed up that who knows what time I will wake up.

I won't be going up to Idyllwild again for awhile. There have been 6 people (5 women) who have mysteriously disappeared up there over the past few months. One left the same cottage motel I stayed at up there the same day I did a few weeks ago and she disappeared. Others disappeared while hiking. Not a safe place right now. If I did decide to take a short trip I would go to Big Bear, but the fire is still burning up that way, so not an option for awhile either. So I will just stay home where I am safe.

I went on-line today and signed up to re-instate my unemployment again. Did that a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything so tried it again. Hope I hear something this time. Calling them is impossible right now. I guess you can't get ahold of a real person on the phone at all. Also got a deferral on two of my debts with the bank for 2 months. That will help some until I start getting some money in. I don't want to dip into my savings any more than I have to.

Got some cleaning done today too. Plus some Gunsmoke episodes. :D Gonna be watching the PGA tournament with Tiger Woods playing this weekend.
