Still hot Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Still hot Sunday

Good morning Everybody,
Sue, I watch what you post about your weather because it will likely be mine in a few days. I hope your cooler weather gets here soon. I am enjoying my mini splits air conditioning. It is so quiet. I only run it when the heat get unbearable which is happening more as I age. I finally have an appointment on Wednesday with my hairdresser to get my highlights. It’s been since November....My hair is long and stringy; not an attractive look. That’s about it in my little social distancing, mask wearing world. Keep smiling behind your mask. Peggy

It got up to 100 yesterday but is only 95 now. It's like walking into an oven outside so don't go out much. There is nothing good on TV and it's boring. If I didn't have Facebook maybe I might do some cleaning.

The governor has mandated mask wearing in public. So far I have only had to wear a mask a few times. That will make me think twice about going somewhere. This is going to be a long year.

Afternoon All, it is 90° here and no relief in sight. I go onto the balcony to water plants and consider carrying water jugs exercise. Made tuna pasta salad yesterday and just put barbecue chicken legs in the crockpot for dinner. The half apple pie I bought at farm store I sliced and froze. So a slice will be desert. My world revolves around food but that is better than an extra glass of wine. :D I have been doing intermittent fasting which seems to be controlling weight but will see what next lab work shows. I stream AT&T Now which is bad, have been watching Amazon prime video and just broke down and bought Britbox. Watching Garden Answer and Gardner’s World for an outdoor fix. My hair which use to be too thick and coarse is now thin and wispy. Trying to grow it long enough to pull back with a barrette. Good thing I have a sense of humor because I really look ridiculous. Be safe and try to be patient.

It's 100 here at moment, but we have another 4 hours to peak temp for the day. It was 106 yesterday. We stayed in with our central AC. Son is updating my laptop so I can put final touch on taxes and send off. Tomorrow I have my second Bowen treatment. My back seems a little better and my neck is not disturbing my sleep as much. Good so far. Our county is going back into partial shutdown due to several days increasing cases plus increase in ICU admissions. Not sure what all it will affect.
We plan to stay in as much as possible or at least on our property, for next week or two until they get new numbers trending down. CA is now second only to NY in cases and deths they say. Not good.
Anne, I saw your concern on the stimulus heck page re Joe. Know you two are in my thoughts. Give him a hug for me.
Have a safe week everyone.

I am in northeastern Montana, and it is going to be hot today (89) but the last three days in North Dakota were a very comfortable 80, and it is supposed to cool back down tomorrow to upper 70s.

Big beautiful lake, but when I got here yesterday, the place was packed. Apparently the COE was having some sort of fishing contest event. I could hear loudspeakers last night, but it got quiet at dark. And most people have left today, which is nice. I am a little bothered in crowds so I tend to not even go for a walk when there are so many people. At least lots of space between sites and no one across from me. So far, my experience in North Dakota and Montana, and even Minnesota is that few people are wearing masks in stores. That is a little bothersome. I know this is not Texas or Florida, but it could be.

Anyway, I have work to do today on my class and I need to finish my income tax forms. That will keep me busy. I was told that tomorrow the COE is opening the museum and interpretive center here. It is a very big dam on the Missouri River, with a really big power plant and other facilities, so I will drive over there tomorrow to look around and take photos. I am here until Wednesday, but then resuming my trek west to meet my California son on the 21st in Idaho.

Ty and I picnic'd at Custer State Park today. I had no plans to take pictures but had to take what I'm calling, The "Bathing" Bison. About 5 minutes later they headed down the road to join more of the herd.

Check the upside-down bison photo below! I was in traffic but was able to take a photo of a really big bull rolling in dirt on his back with all fours up in the air!

I'd like to get to South Dakota again sometime. Will depend on other things happening, like Canada not letting me in to see Lake Louise and Banff.

Beth, I am sure that water felt good to them!

Judy, where are you right now? A dust bath must have felt good to him too!

I have you all beat at 121* right now. The all time record heat for this area is 123*. We beat the record for this date by one degree. It is horrible outside!!

I didn't sleep well last night. Too many noises, including the toilet running all night and the AC running. My mind was racing until after 2am and then I couldn't get comfortable because my shoulders hurt. This morning I had bathroom issues so loaded up on Pepto Bismol. I packed up, checked out, and stopped for breakfast. I didn't get to the nature preserve last night because I was too tired so I went there after breakfast. I was pretty much the only one there which was nice. It was hot, around 90, but with low humidity so I was able to hike quite a ways. Stopped in town and did some shopping and had a strawberry malt, before heading home. I will post pics in a day or two when I have time.

Now I am just relaxing on the bed with Lola. It is 84* in here right now but still feels much better than outside. My shoulders hurt and my feet hurt. The shoulders are from arthritis. I was scheduled for a short shift at work tomorrow but now I have to cover another shift for a co-worker so will be there all day. :(

I need to go take a shower and get all the dust off me from walking in the woods! And then get to bed early!

Judy, I don't think you will be able to get into Canada. They are only allowing Americans in if they are heading to Alaska, not vacationers to Canada.

Peggy, my next AC will be a mini split air conditioner. I hear they are very economical.

Dear God. 121 degrees. That is terrible.

It topped out here today at 107, I could hardly stand to put my head out the front door. Right now, at 7:00 p.m., it is still 102.

How do you stand it? It must get up to near 200 degrees (or more - probably more) inside your parked car.

Ugh.

didn't get on the computer at all this weekend
my daughter and her husband needed all hands on deck to work on the apartment so it can get finished
my eldest and her husband came up from Utah to help... got lots done but boy was this old lady tired
still need to figure out what to do about the mifi coming up to the house is getting old. that and chat starts in a few minutes much prefer doing it on the computer but that means going home in the dark as I forgot to bring a flashlight and yes I could use the one on the phone but awkward to do when packing other stuff. that and the phone takes forever to recharge thought it was the cord so got a new one it still takes forever to charge... thought maybe it was electricity going into the trailer but am at the house and in the 50 minutes it's been plugged in it's gone up perhaps two points or whatever it would be called... full of gripes aren't I ??? and if that isn't enough I went out to see if they left a invoice when they pumped out the tanks they didn't and I noticed that the filters that I had drying and spaced out for the vacuum one is gone guess when the door was opened to the bay it blew away am sure there was no idea that it was a filter...so now need to find some for the Shark and I was planning on vacuuming this week ... guess I won't anytime soon...
oh well enough griping hope all is well in your homes
What is wrong with Joe, Anne? Hope he feels better soon
you all be safe

I made back-up reservations a couple of weeks ago figuring Canada was really iffy. I made two weeks reservation in Lake Cascade in Idaho and then a week in one of my favorite places, RIverside County park in Heyburn, ID. I ended up getting a handicap site in Lake Cascade and having to move a couple of times, but that is OK. (I have a handicap permit, so it it legit.) Heyburn Riverside RV Park is a county facility and very pleasant if you want quiet. It works out to $20 a night for a full-hookup site for a week with senior and GoodSam discounts. It is along the Snake River and on the edge of this small town, so good bike riding. Then I'll move to Strawberry Bay in Utah, and down to Moab to Dead Horse Point SP. Then it will be Zion, and both sides of Grand Canyon in October. Disappointed about Canada, but maybe next year.

I'm in Fort Peck, Montana, right now. Heading to Idaho soon.

And, Barbie, take it easy hiking in that heat, even if 90 is cooler than a whopping 120!

Just found out tonight that New Mexico has closed all state parks to non-residents. If you try to check in, they will ask for proof of residency. Trying to shut some things down because they have had a spike in virus. No reservations allowed until November.

Judy, the park I have my casita at closed to new people when I was still there in the fall and have kept extending that. Right now it's extended to October 1st. If things continue as they are, it'll be extended again. The good thing is I'll have a place to go and feel safer than I do this summer. I'd have to quarantine for 2 weeks when I return. While Arizona numbers are skyrocketing, my park is a safe zone... So far.

NM was doing great until they started opening things up, so they are struggling to get back to a safer level.

I think I've forgotten how to sleep the past couple nights.

Ann, I don't know how hot it gets inside my car since the indoor thermometer goes black at 136*.

Judy, I took my time hiking and sat where and when I could. I was in the pine forest so it was very shady. Had lots of water too. It was a little more humid up there so I was sweating like a pig!
