Rainy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Friday

Postby Shirlv » Fri Jul 10, 2020 10:27 am

Morning All, Tropical Storm Fay is raining on the shore. It is needed but not all at once. Have to remember which roads to travel that aren’t flooded during this kind of weather. If there is a break going to the local produce stand. Hoping the young woman sitting under the tent with her mask on is dry. Still have some Lindt truffles so will take her a few. Sorry for the boring, uninteresting post but at least you can ignore it. I am living it. :D stay safe

Good morning Shirl & everyone!

Yes, it is raining a lot on the shore and we have a flood watch in effect until 4:00 this afternoon then Fay will move northeast.

We got our tax papers to our accountant this week and bought a new Mifi and to top things off, my laptop decided to start working! Not sure what happened, but my screen turned bright red and I couldn't get rid of it. Even after I rebooted, I got the same red page. After several days, it finally gave me options to choose and it went away. I'm going to start playing for the MD church this Sunday to give the other organist a break for awhile. We ordered a half bushel of steamed crabs for this afternoon but because of the weather, we'll reschedule for another day.

Stay dry and safe.

Scorching Friday

Postby BarbaraRose » Fri Jul 10, 2020 2:17 pm

Last night I gathered up the paperwork from my old house and new house for my tax lady and got that faxed to her this morning. Also got all my bills paid for the month. Have a little extra spending money for the weekend. Just gotta fill the gas tank after work and pack up a few things and then head up the hill in the morning. Lola will be fine for a day and a half. She still won't eat canned food but eating her kibble just fine.

Hope you all have a good weekend! :D

Irmi, you are making me hungry for crabs again. We will probably be able to oder some at the next campout at the beach.

I left at 8:30 and just got home a little while ago. Poor Sugar, she was probably sitting with her legs crossed waiting to go out. They wanted to do some brake work on my car so it took longer than just a service. They have started washing your car which is nice since I can't ever seem to get that done. I picked up an order to go at a restaurant. The first time in 4 months. I made it to Walmart, the post office and the bank. My grandson's birthday is tomorrow and I finally got his card mailed. It is 98 degrees and the heat index is about 105. I'm glad I got most of the yard mowed yesterday when it was only 92.

Someone on the forum has talked about Entenmann's cakes. I had never seen any until today at Walmart I bough some Mini crumb cake. It's good.

Just got home from work and am resting a bit. Stopped to get gas. Need to get my stuff put together tonight so I don't have to worry about it in the morning.

I found out I am getting just over $2000 from the IRS! I am very happy about that especially since I wasn't sure if I would be getting any refund this year due to selling my other house inside of two years of buying it. Someone told me I might be penalized for that, but I guess not! Yay!

It is warm in the house tonight. The AC just can't keep up with the heat outside. I have all the blinds closed but these houses are not very well insulated so the heat still gets in. It is still under 80 in here so very tolerable. I keep the thermostat around 76 during the day and about 73 at night.

I don't know why I didn't see the first MC opened this morning when I went and posted mine later. Just wasn't paying attention.
