Fist Dsy of Summer

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning. Feels like summer here too. Actually it’s too warm. Like others of you, we have either been above or below normal, right now we are in a stretch of 80’s. Fortunately the dew points have not risen enough to make it sticky. Be glad when we get back to norm temps next week. Nights are down into upper 50’s, low 60’s, so perfect sleeping weather with bedroom window open.

Haven’t been up to a whole lot of anything around here this week because it’s been too warm. Did take another ride up o Mackinac the other day and I think I am heading to Houghton Lake today. Been looking for some nautical themed craft decorations to outfit my Tbree post dock piling thing I am making to put out in my yard. Starting to work on some little Yard decorating projects now.

Was thinking yesterday that I should unzip the cover on my trailer and go inside and see how things are after sitting all winter. Still haven’t decided if I wanna go camping this year or not although I do have a reservation for the end of next month. The parks are very busy and it’s hard to get a site for more than maybe two or three days at a time. Some them are in spots I don’t want to be. State park campgrounds are opening on Monday and they are asking campers to bring mask and hand sanitizer with them. Like bath, I want to stay away from crowds too. Mackinac is getting busy and I think I will be staying away from the downtown area until it slows down later on. Most people were pretty good about wearing maskS in the stores when I was up there the other day, but forget trying to get into the restaurants because with limited seating capacity rules in effect, all the people that are there you have long waits. Plus the prices are horrendous. Everything has gone skyhigh due to the Covid.

Bobby, I tried that fashion tape idea on my face mask, that you mentioned on FB, when I went to get my haircut the other day and it worked really well. One just have to be careful when you take your mask off and do it slowly, as the tape does stick to your skin a bit. But it did make it easier for my gal to cut my hair without having the ear loops to work around.

Guess I had better get my act in gear if I am going to get to Houghton Lake. Hope you all have a nice day out there today and keep safe.

Not much going on here. I think I am going to have to go to the grocery store. My son requested more of the frozen cookie dough I had given them. That will give me something to do. He is going to have to give me a ride Tuesday when I bring my motorhome to the shop. Cookies will be a good payment for taxi service. All my mowing is done for a few days. The weather guys are saying we will have a very wet week coming up. We could use some rain. It was a dust storm when I mowed yesterday.

It really felt like summer this morning when I walked out on the back porch. I went fishing until dark yesterday but the fish weren't bitting very much. I hope I remember to get my fishing license before I go to the lake . They expire this month. Last night I had to let the dog out about midnight and I saw the satellites again. If it wasn't for the virus I would go to Lafayette and check out the discount stores. Not that I need anything. Just something to do but there are too many cases in Lafayette. I don't really want to go the the dentist again.

Sue, that nautical theme sounds adorable! I love that kind of thing! Not very appropriate for the desert here tho.

Speaking of cookie dough. I always buy the Pillsbury frozen cookie dough and recently noticed that it says it is safe to eat raw now. Well, I have been eating it raw since I was about 8 years old and never got sick from it. I still eat it raw and once in awhile I will actually bake them.

I had a hard time getting to sleep last night and I don't think I finally fell asleep until after 2am. I woke up at 7am to go potty and went back to bed. Woke up at noon!! Not sure why I am sleeping so much lately.

I was thinking of going up to Idyllwild for one day this weekend but last night I remembered that Monday is the 13th anniversary of my mom's passing. There have been at least 4 women on my mom's side that passed between the 20th and 24th of June and I had a very close call on a freeway many years ago on my mom's death date that got me really shook up, and then got home to find out a cousin died the day before. Now I will no longer go very far on those dates. So no trip up the mountain for me this weekend! I am not very superstitious but this one I take seriously. I can go up there later on this summer.

Lola is perking up some now and even a little cranky when I don't feed her on time! She did have a little diarrhea yesterday for the first time in weeks so will have to watch that.

I heard that Florida has been having a huge spike in cases this week. Those of you down there, please stay safe! Also in Arizona, plus bad fires there near Tucson and Phoenix. Fire season is upon us here too with not nearly enough rain this year in the northern half of the state.

Have a project to work on today so I better get up and get at it here. Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Not much new here either. Going to be hot the next week. Maybe even in the low 100's UGH
I like it warm but when it gets out of the 80's ... nah. Oh well it will be what it is going to be. Good thing I have good AC.

A couple of our neighbors here have an ice cream cart that they have started bringing up to the Clubhouse every couple of weeks. Was a nice visit for about an hour with us being outside and social distancing.
I need to go to the store for a few things but think it will wait until Monday. I really hate fighting the weekend crowds.
So back on my diet.....have been really good this week (until today and the ice cream bar) and have lost 4lbs. I know the first 5 usually come off quickly but I am determined to get the "real 10lbs" OFF. Will continue to work on it.
