Lovely Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Lovely Tuesday

Perfect weather today, and I am waiting for a visit from two old friends. The main freeway, I-75, is a mess from major construction, with many exits and entrance ramps closed. I gave them instructions, but I'll bet it takes longer than they planned. I have a bunch of salad things ready and also some freshly baked blueberry muffins.

I'll let others post, but it sure feels good to be on the road again.

Glad you are enjoying this perfect weather Judy. June is my favorite month of the year here in Michigan as we have some of the most beautiful weather in the summer. I’ve really been enjoying it too.

I am happy to say that I finally have my deck project done. Took a lot of work but it was worth it. No next year I won’t have to do anything except maybe a touch up here and there. My yard is in about as good shape as I can get it right now. Got a few little decorating projects that I want to do and I also want to freshen up my garage door with a new coat of paint and a side service door, but not right now. When the temps start pushing into the 80s that’s when I start back at office I don’t tolerate heat well. So I will wait before I tackle any more painting.

I haven’t even looked at my trailer yet but my mind is slowly beginning to turn in that direction. I have no reservations until the end of July but I am also keeping an eye on this college stuff. Here in Michigan we have flatten the curve and we are keeping it there. But as the summer season goes on and more people are out moving around and coming north on vacations it remains to be seen what will happen.

But for right now I need to get myself moving here as Piper has a vet appointment and then later I am taking myself out for dinner. So I will wish those of you on the East Coast a great afternoon and the rest of you a great day.

I got a call while walking Ty this morning. My opener at the store was having problems. An alarm was going off to one of the ups battery backups. Gas pumps were not working. Register was having problems. She got the gas pumps running while I rushed in. I was able to reset the register but couldn't stop the alarm. While my boss headed into Rapid for a new ups, I finally changed everything to be plugged into a surge strip which at least turned off the alarm. Doing so meant losing the register and Gas pumps and then resetting them. When my boss returned with the new one, of course it wouldn't fit where the old had been. So everything went off again and for longer while we reran the electrical lines where it would fit. Of course we had to argue about where to put it, but, in the end, I think my decision was the only one that would work without a lengthy offline process. Then to reboot everything again. We managed to get our work done, but I'm sitting here realizing I never checked the change fund. My fingers are crossed that they won't bed to call me tonight and I can replenish it in the morning.

We also are in the 90's today... Something very rare for Keystone. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and a 15 degree drop. It's just miserable outside. And a major reason I didn't stay in Arizona.

In the next couple weeks we'll be selling liquor like a bar ... Kind of. I think we'll mainly have local beers available by the can and able to be consumed on premises. And margaritas. There's a reason we're having to do this, and we'll work it out.

The city of Sturgis voted to go ahead with the Sturgis bike week in August. Mt Rushmore is going ahead with fireworks on July 3rd and it'll be a madhouse even with tickets having been raffled. I doubt most realize they won't be able to get in without tickets. And others may not realize their tickets will be fit on the road leading into MR. And firefighters are still talking about how bad an idea this is.

I know, every year I say it's my last here, but this year might be it. It's either the last or next to last lol I have other places to go and things to see.

It got up to 98 today but I was so busy running the roads I didn't notice. I needed to go by the vet's and pay the bill from last week and pick up Annie's flea treatment. The rest of the cats get Walmart flea treatments but Annie gets Revolution because she is so allergic to fleas. The electrician went by the trailer and checked the electricity and didn't find any thing wrong. I dropped the surge protector at the shop so he could see the error code for himself. The surge protector worked fine at the campground.

I had to go sign some papers at Farm Bureau so I ask my agent about medicare paying medical bill for someone in an accident. She said they would go after the vehicle insurance if there is any first. If there is none then medicare will pay. I'm sure they won't pay what the hospital and doctors bill. I hope I don't ever have to find out.

I started trouble shooting the electric problems in the motorhome so I could tell the shop. Found out that none of the outlets have power but the air conditioner and microwave work on electricity. I plugged the refrigerator into an extension cord to the car port and it works. I was worried there was something wrong with the refrigerator. The shop I usually go to told me the first appointment was August 17 so I called one in Lafayette. I can bring it in next Tuesday. My sister and I are going to the lake for the 4th if the weather is ok.

Then I drove an hour toward my sister's to meet her and give her something her ding bat kids left at my house. I don't know what that bunch is going to do if they lose her.

After my dentist appointment tomorrow I have an appointment with the estate lawyer to sign some papers. We'll see if that is finally over.

Martha, if it's the outlets without power, find the ones with the gcfi and reset them.

There is no power going to the GFI outlets so they won't reset. I have checked the fuses and turned the breakers off and back on quite a few times. Since it was not working and then working and not working I think there must be something loose somewhere.

Ugh! I had that happen. The whole driver's side of the coach's power went out, including the microwave and A/C. It took me awhile to find it. A wire had worked loose from the wire nut. Luckily it was in a bundled connection behind the microwave.

I used an ohms meter to eliminate sections of the wiring: Georgie Boy did not make straight (or logical) runs. Then found it by wiggling all the most likely suspects with the non-working lights turned on. I would have missed it if the lights hadn't been in the on position. It didn't feel, or appear, loose. It was still inside the nut. That one wire had just worked its way down to a point where it no longer had contact with the live power.

Oh, yeah, they always recommend turning OFF the power when you work on electricity. I'd been over this bunch of connections twice with the power off. So ah, if you end up having to work with live power to find it, as a last ditch effort only, like I did, be EXTREMELY careful. Do not touch any metal to the live wires! Do not touch any exposed wires with the power on! Once I found out which one had the problem I turned THE POWER OFF before fixing it. Really important!!!
Just because I'm disabled does not mean that I'm unabled.

The majority of disabilities are invisable. You never know what someone else is dealing with. Cut them the slack you'd like to receive.

Martha, your outlets are 12 volt, powered by the coach battery (ies). Make sure you don't have your batteries in bypass mode.

Toxie, don't worry, I'm done trouble shooting. It's going to the shop on Tuesday.

Beth, if there is a way to put the batteries in bypass mode I don't know what it is. Maybe the batteries are bad but they aren't that old. I don't know how to test the batteries either. With all the wires attached to the batteries there is no way I am going to mess with that. They said they could fix the satellite dome to work with the new receivers so it's going to the shop anyway.

wow were there a lot of postings how fun!!!! :o :o
did laundry today.. folded what was hanging around of the families and got mine done and put away all of it all I have to do is put the pillow case on the pillow... was planning on washing my sheets and hanging them on the line as well as the comforter... but dd and family will be home earlier than planned don't dare tie up the washer so hopefully next week ... there is a steam cleaning carpet cleaning business in town think I am going to call and see what it will cost to have carpets cleaned... they so need it would like to time it to be done the morning I leave to go to Utah so that it will have days to dry in... so in my mind I've been trying to figure out where to put stuff so most of the floors can be done... except for under the couch doesn't need to be done I don't think but it sounds like a lot of work perhaps I can get gc out to help
it's been cold here again had to have furnace on... dd turned on the heat in the house then forgot to turn it down when they went to get hair done when I went up to wash clothes... it was soooooo hot it was 80 and climbing couldn't figure out how to turn it down the remote didn't seem to do anything so finally text dd on vacation they told me something I could do couldn't find what they were referring to couldn't get to picture to show them... it's up to 86 by now then I had this thought not thinking it would work but the switch that is on for the remote I turned it off out went the flames... sil suggested that I just go turn off the propane but if it is cold tomorrow that didn't sound good... so hopefully dd won't be cold in morning as she didn't ask me what I did so she can reverse it... I think the batteries may need to be replaced in the remote...
so that was my day getting frustrated because of how hot it was and not being able to fix it...
you all have a good day
