Rainy Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Wednesday

Postby Othersharon » Wed Jun 10, 2020 12:14 pm

So I thought I might get outside for a bit but so far we’ve just had a bit of rain here and there. Just enough to keep the humidity up and me inside. So I’ve been doing things inside. I did manage to put my air conditioner in my bedroom window yesterday and it made quite a difference in sleeping comfortably. Now I just need to put the one in the landing on the stairs. It manages to cool the most of the downstairs and upstairs. The main thing is the humidity. I just don’t handle it as well as I used to. I do need to go out and turn the air on in Lola to keep the moisture out of there. Plus I have some things on the kitchen counter that I need to take out and put away. I’m slowly adding some food and other stuff so I don’t have it to do all at once. Martha, hope you have a good time on your trip. For me just seeing other people is a thrill after being home so much these last few months. I’ll never take being able to go places for granted again. I’m still cautious and being careful but just hope soon I’ll be able to walk in somewhere and not worry. I just heard my dryer quit so need to get to it and get the clothes out so they don’t wrinkle. Have a good and safe day.

Actually, it is a beautiful day today where I am. Been busy with a lot of stuff, but it has felt good to be able to relax for a few days. Heading to my son's house tomorrow and planning on rounding up three kids to help me wash RV. Will spent two nights in their driveway and then head north to Detroit area to visit old friends.

Worrying a little more about Covid 19 because so many people getting out and about and not wearing masks, but all I can do is watch what i do personally and wear a mask when I am around people.

Hi Sharon & Judy & whoever checks in!

Sharon, and Judy, too, we are very careful what we do and where we go. Whenever we are in any store, we always wear our masks. We have been out for meals twice, but sat on the outside patios or porches. Right now we are staying in our comfort zone and continue doing that.

We are in Santee SC for 3 nights before moving further north. They prepare pizzas here so that will be our dinner. I'll eat on all the good stuff on top and give Steve the extra crust if he wants it. Saturday we will go to Wilson NC for two weeks.

Stay safe everyone.

Masks in my area are rate as hen's teeth. I am still staying at home, but there is a lot of foot traffic and bicycling on my street, not a mask in sight.

My county was one of three California counties that 'opened' about two weeks ago, before the governor gave permission. The result of this was that unmasked locals were out and about, and folks from surrounding counties that were still closed came here to go to the mall, get haircuts and shop.

Big surprise (not): just read that covid infections in my area are now up 80% since the unauthorized re-opening.

I guess I will continue with my "stay at home".

Be careful out there, ladies. It ain't over yet.

Got home from work and took a 3 hour nap! Only two of us today so we stayed busy. I am very frustrated. We are already short handed with 2 stylists out but no one else seems to want to put in their time at work either. One day I stayed an extra 3 hours to close for one of the stylists so she could visit an out of town family member. Then yesterday, I stayed late for my manager so she could leave early. Then today, one guy who has only made it to work for a half day, didn't come in again today, and the other guy called and said he wouldn't be in until 1pm, instead of 9am. Well he called later and said he couldn't come in at all. So that left me and my manager the only ones working today. I was scheduled to leave early today and was so glad for that because working 8 - 9 hours a day for the past week with only Sunday off, has taken its toll on my feet, lower back, shoulders and over-all mood. My manager did say I could still leave early if it wasn't too busy so I ended up leaving at 3:30. Came straight home and took my nap. Just got up at 7pm! I am a little miffed that everyone thinks they can just bail on work and Barb will fill in their shift! I really can't handle working full-time on my feet (full-time for stylists is considered 32 hours, not 40) and have worked 55 hours over the past 7 days. Way too much! I work tomorrow for 8 hours again and then have Friday off. No idea what next weeks schedule looks like yet. If next week ends up like this week, I am gonna have to put my foot down. (And I felt SO guilty being a half hour late two days due to my broken alarm clock!)

It is hot again here but I was able to have my windows open last night. No wind, but was cool enough to have the AC off. Probably not gonna be cool enough tonight tho. Will be cooler and windy again by Saturday.

I have been staying away from the news pretty much the past week. I can't deal with that stuff right now. I need to take breaks from it to keep my sanity. Luckily, none of the customers brought up rants today! :D

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

didn't go to the nursery or actually anywhere wondered up to the house and grabbed some leftovers that thought looked good and I am sure would have been but didn't agree so eating a yogurt... might have thought of a use for the Oui glass when the yogurt is gone  such a pretty jar... thought perhaps I can put a succulent in it have eight that I need to get out of their temporary pot if you can even call it that  Tried the other day to figure out what each of them are according to the card that came with them wasn't so good with that either...I have one bowl that several could be put in it I think but not sure which ones to put with which ones...part of the reason's I've not planted them so perhaps it's best to do an individual planting with them being slow growers the smaller a container would be able to tuck them in odd corners...
I've lived in the 5th wheel now for almost 13 years come to think of it I think it was either May or June we moved in so 13 years... and I am tired of the curtains in the bedroom they are dark dusty and go with the coloring that they put in the 5th wheel we ordered it but it seems that we had the option of taking what was coming down the line or waiting which would equate to more money and wouldn't have it when we wanted it... so instead of green we had dark blue so trying to figure out what to do to change the curtains. the ones in the living room/dining room went away a long time ago... however have been thinking of doing something there as well... just need to decide what I have a large piece of material that I got to make a table cloth for the big picnic tables that are at campgrounds... didn't do it so was looking at it the other day wondering if it would go with the walls..the walls almost look like leather a light tan blotches... I had covered up the border they had with a border I liked better but when I took down the window treatment you could see the old border so need to see if I have enough of the old to fix the problem or find something that I like as well I do like it ...just not sure where I put the remnant. guess I ought to find it and see what I have enough to do... and then figure it out... the ceiling needs to be painted as well throughout just need to decide what to do where first... and we won't even talk about the flooring  if Shadow could handle no carpet it would be gone so fast... except that I like the feel of carpet just don't like the stains and dirty look I am thinking of calling someone and have them come clean it just before I leave for Utah and then it will have a chance to completely dry... just need to remember to call and look into it..
Sharon if you are tired of humidity you ought to come to stay a winter with us desert dwellers
you all have a good day
