Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Friday of April

Postby Colliemom » Fri Apr 24, 2020 6:38 am

Good Morning from the 45th. Heard my name being called, so thoughtI had better get the e going this morning before y’all think I got the virus or something. Nope, been reading but not posting and been kinda busy besides. This week seems to have flown by in a way.

Virus cases continue to climb here in this county, but a large number are due to positive cases in one of our nursing homes which had reported 19 as of yesterday. Hate to see that kind of thing. Sounds like the State's Stay at Hone order is going to be extended for just a little bit longer. Some of the tougher restrictions may be lifted a bit though. Will know more today. But tough as they are, it’s working as we are flattening the curve.

As for me, I’ve been out a bit more this week than I normally have been otherwise. I’ve been doing some shopping on Monday mornings, as it seems to be quiet then, not that the store I shop at has been crowded anyway. We are at a point where we are just doing rountine shopping n now. Stores are stsrting to get pretty much back to normal now with stocked shelves. There are some exceptions, Baking Powder being one.But when I was there Wednesday again, flour was being restocked for the first time in weeks. A Lot of flour. I also had a final chiropractor appt. from the accident On Wednesday and now am resuming my every six week Maintenance checkups.

Made a change in Plans regarding my truck too. My dealer hasn’t been able to secure one of the trucks I wanted from another dealer that was equipped the way I wanted as they won’t Sell em to another dealer, so long story short, I am buying my current one instead. Signed off the paperwork yesterday. Course there’s the payments to make for a few years on the loan, but what the heck. Plan to acessorize it with a couple things I didn’t want to do with it being a lease vehicle. So that issue is taken care of.

Todays project is going to be instslling 2 closet rods to accmodat my jackets etc. in my entry closet off the living room. Would like to paint it first, but since I can’t get paint, will do that later. Got the house cleand earlier this week so thats done. Exciting huh  Dogs and I continue our daily walks.

Judy, I too was surprised at bed making with a storm warning in. I would have been heading for shelter, pronto. Barbie, glad your unemployment has come through. Catherine, congrats on retirement. Beth, sounds kike things are coming together at the store.

Okay, now that you have today’s chapter, going to finish my breakfast, hesd for the shower and get busy around here. Have a nice dsy all. Stay safe.

Well, the trash truck passed this morning and I still don't have a trash can. I had to put my trash in the neighbors can last night. My next call is going to be to my police juror. He wanted my vote, maybe he can get me a trash can. At least they lifted the burn ban. If the wind ever calms down I have some boxes I can burn.

Sugar went from hardly eating to can't get enough while she was on prednisone. Her last dose was yesterday so I hope she calms down. Last night she was trying to climb up to where the cat food is.

There's a new cat in the neighborhood. I saw it yesterday and today on my porch. As soon as it saw me it took off down the road. Once it finds the cat food I'm sure it will be a regular visitor.

Sue, it's a shame your state wouldn't let people buy paint. It looks like here everyone is remodeling their house since they have to stay home. My siding needs to be cleaned but I haven't gotten that ambitious yet. I don't know if the pressure washer even works or how to use it. The biggest increase in virus cases around here have been in nursing homes too.

It was nice and cool this morning when I went out. It would be nice to have this weather all the time.

Sue, at least in Florida and Geogia, ACE hardware stores have been open. I was told it was because they sold so much animal feed, so you might check to see if one of them is open near you for paint. (The one I stopped in to get some repair things had bunches of tiny chicks for sale, and the back was filled with chicken, horse, and various other animal feeds.)

The big part of the storm yesterday was at about noon, but it rained hard all day until around 9 pm. The result was 3" of rain!! Most I have every seen in such a short time. But it looks like the big puddles have pretty much drained away.

Also, I do not use a top sheet or blanket on my bed. I just use a soft, cotton quilt as a blanket and bedspread, so making my bed just meant pulling up my quilt and covering up my pillow. I also use a down throw, so just had to quickly fold it up and toss it where the second pillow would normally go. Don't need top sheet because the cotton comforter is so comfortable, and it really makes bed making fast and easy. Been using this combination for years. My comforter/blanket is one of those thin ones for summer, but in winter, I replace it with a medium-weight down comforter, which also serves as a top sheet and blanket!

Running out of milk and fruit, so might run to the store tomorrow or Sunday. Hate to do it, but I really have a long list of stuff I need. I am leaving here on Monday, but would rather get the groceries done so I have more time to put them away so I won't have to stop while driving.

Judy, our ACE hardwares and all hardware stores are open and yes thry sell paint, but ours is almost out of it and what they have left and actually what they carry is the more expensive Brands that sell from $38 to $53 a gallon. They did have some $25 a gallon, but not pure white. They were kinds that were Base paints for mixing colors. I want to get the Behr I used on my stairway walls so I can finish up an area I ran out of and make sure it matches. Martha, the reason for that order was to keep people from big box stores as they were pleading with people to stop coming in with the whole family and also not spending time browsing. Just get what they needed and leave. It wasn’t a big deal, Didn’t have to be done right now.

But doesn’t matter anywsy as it’s all changed this morning. The Governor signed a new Executive order extending our Stdy at Home till May 15th. But lifted some restrictions. Landscapers, nurseries, lawn care businesses, bike repair/sales can now operate. People can go boating and play golf. The big box stores can fully open so paint, flooring, garden stuff and all closed areas are now open. Travel to second homes is allowed but no encouraged. We must wear masks if we are going to enclosed buildings. Don’t need to wear them outdoors necessarily, but is up to you. She says to maintain Social distancing everywhere. No long distance travel uNless necessary. We have have flattened our curve but it doesn’t mean we can ignore the situation. This is just a slow and gradual beginning to reopening. She is still pleading with people to stay home and stay safe. Michigan has been doing very well in that regard and we don’t want a repeat performance of this. I think now that those restrictions have been lifted that people will probably go and start buying paint if they want it and gardening stuff and spending time working outdoors on their homes our yard as the weather permits. That will keep them home. So basically we are back to the original stay at home order six weeks ago when things were originally shut down but yet we could still pick up the things that had been restricted for the past two weeks. So tomorrow I will take myself a trip to Home Depot and get my paint.

Almost time for bed here. Yesterday I called for service for the stores cappuccino machine. It usually takes a couple days for this co to get service out so I was pleasantly surprised when the service man called a couple hours later and said he'd be by today. So, I'm walking Ty before going to the store and see someone at the entrance... He was waiting. Ty's walk got cut short and I never stopped again all day. Vendors were in and out all day. Shortly before 4 when a vendor left Ty bolted out the door. First I was scared but it only took a few moments to realize he was running as fast as his legs would take him to some grass... Where he peed and peed and peed some more. Poor boy.

Tomorrow I go into Rapid to get my pick up Walmart order and my curbside pickup at AutoZone of my battery for the rv. Sunday I'm planning to drive through Custer State Park and hopefully see some of the babies.

Night all.

at least the weather today wasn't remarkable... didn't mean that I did anything out of the ordinary... dishes are done and now the counter has stuff from under the table on it ...the goal being to organize stuff pull out the sewing machine and a table that is behind the table where it resides when in travel mode.. however I didn't even get it out this winter a cooler resided in it's spot now that I don't need a cooler there will welcome having the table back... it was missed...I want to move the kennel and clean from behind it as well a bin fell off while traveling so need to move it and pick up whatever was dropped..and find a screw the one that holds the light fixture in place  bet it's going to be really easy to find.. so lots to do tomorrow will hope that I get it done... if I was smart would wipe down the walls while some of the things are out of the way.. if I wasn't in quarantine would have one of the girls crawl under there and wipe them down really quick. but that isn't an option as I am
want to go up and check out the baby goats tomorrow as well when I took Shadow out a bit ago it was getting to late.
oh yes!!! I am a new grandma my 14th grandchild was born today... his name is Rider James weighed in at 8.9 21 and 1/2 inches... both are doing well... he will be my last unless my unmarried daughter marries someone with children... oh well all good things come to an end... will be glad when things are more open and I am allow to go see him!!! oh and his sister and parents...
you all have a good day
