Thursday's Afternoon Coffee

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday's Afternoon Coffee

Can't leave this closed all day. Not much going on with me--laundry, dump tanks, fill with water, change winter down comforter to light cotton spread, clean up mess I keep making, straighten out part of my under-bed storage, and grading papers. Just my usual life.

It rained all night and most of the morning so the barn repair guys didn't show up. It would be nice if they would let me know if they are coming tomorrow. It has been 50 all day with wind so feels really cold. Especially since it's been in the 70's for so long. Sugar doesn't want to go out so guess I'm going to have to find a coat and take her for a walk.

I hadn't seen one of the barn cats for a week before I left and didn't see him when I got home. I called the animal control about a cat on Facebook that they had picked up but it wasn't him. He finally showed up yesterday afternoon.

I was digging in the pantry and found a box of blueberry muffin mix and half a package of black-eyed peas. Put the peas in the slow cooker and made the muffins. Nothing to do on a day like today but cook and eat.

I was up early today to meet Brenda at the Desert Museum. I love that place! We didn't get through half of it and only saw one of the two raptor shows. Brenda went back to the desk after and turned her daily ticket to an annual one. Then she can go for short days and not feel like she's pushing. If I think I'll get there enough times, I'd do an annual membership again. I definitely got my use our of it the year I did.

I'm home and walked Ty... Relaxing now.

I only took a few bird pics.

Well, selling Serendipity is running about like I figured it would be. Today's interested person turned out to actually be a dealer who has some sort of scam for using Class B's like a time-share thing. The RV owners all join a "pool" where rigs are rented out and we make a fortune! Sure, we do. It's hard not to get bummed out. She looks brand new, tho, since my son and I spent all day yesterday cleaning, washing/waxing and generally spiffing her up. Lots of folks stopping by to ask about her, but the funniest or perhaps the saddest was a lady who said her hubby was retiring in June and Sere was exactly what they would like to travel around in. She was so excited to tour her until we both realized she thought the price was $6,550 instead of $65,500! The laugh's on me!

And so goes my Thursday!

Had a busy day today but have had a relaxing evening. Eye doctor again tomorrow, dang those 4 weeks in between go by fast.

Beth I too loved the Desert Museum, I would like to go back to that again. Was a highlight for me for sure. Maybe next year.

Beth, that owl photo is awesome!

Pooker, I would buy it for $6550!! Gotta watch out for the scammers. Where do you have it advertised?

I started getting the outside trim on the front window taped this morning. I have been hemming and hawing between the two shades of teal. Finally decided on the bluish one and painted the trim with that. When I was finished with that window I didn't like it. Was too blue. I needed a bigger paint brush so went to WM and got a couple of them and some groceries. Got home and painted the lighter, greener teal over the other one. It is dark out so will have to see what it looks like in the morning after it dries.

While I was waiting for the first color to dry, I went to my friend Cindy's parents' house to do haircuts. Found out her dad who has Alzheimers is now in an assisted living facility. They decided to place him there since her mom was just diagnosed with lung cancer and will be busy with her treatments for that, and can't take care of him too. After the haircuts, Cindy and I went in her golf cart to the casino down the street for a couple drinks and conversation. She is pretty stressed out dealing with all this too.

Got a couple pics of Lily from her new owner. She looks content.

starting the third hour on this generator.... ran two hours last night went out and started it a few moments ago so far doing fine... we will hope this is the one!!! and just knocked on wood
picked up a salad bowl at Safeway the other day was good but thought as I had about 5 more bites I should have added an packet of tuna to it... would have been good...
spent the day well some of it getting ornaments off the tree... why can't one put back into the container what one took out of it? I bought some new ornaments from Hobby Lobby a cylinder pkg of green plastic would think that they would all go back in right?? nope 3 or was it 4 had to go elsewhere..still have some to take off besides the lights I added to the lighted tree... have some candle lights that I love and bubble lights...
then decided that I ought to sit on the couch so Shadow would have cuddle time if he desired that was after I put all the stuff that I took out of closet to put the ornaments back in... so laid down and we napped... shouldn't have...
had a visit with the rv mechanic found out why he has been so busy this year one of the other well known mechanic's in the area has been out sick and he has been doing for both...still hasn't gotten his trailer is doing it this weekend... so what we decided after he did some measurements was to fix this fridge... so he will be ordering in the part needed and when I get back it will get worked on.. that is the plan anyway
Plan on going to Vegas to the sister's on Saturday but weather is forecasting rain so not sure it seems like there that the roads get really slick if raining and it's a 100 percent chance of rain so not sure at this moment if I will go Saturday or wait till Sunday. really don't like to drive on Sunday's but perhaps this time I shall my sister says why not come on Friday hmm a thought but making corn chowder for games ...and they start at 1:00
so that is my day...glad you found your kitty Martha..
love that Desert museum glad Brenda enjoyed it as well

Beth, those are great photos!
I had my dental check up today, then Chris and I got groceries at Walmart and Costco. After dividing meat into meal size bags for freezer, we ate then watched tv. Not much else here except that it's 70 in day time and NO rain, though we needit.
