And Now It’s Thursday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And Now It’s Thursday!

Good morning. Tbe week is Roll g right along as is the month. Seems like it was just New Years and now we are almost midway into January.

Peggy, so nice to see you post. Been enjoying seeing you here on a more regular basis as always wonder how you are doing. Glad you are enjoying FL this year. Beth, hope your tooth and jaw feel better this morning. Definitely time to head for the dentist. Barbie, sounds like Lily has a “suitor”. I assume she is spayed or you will really be a cat lady ;)

Dawn has broken here to a cloudy sky and a forecast calling for a winter mix and rain this afternoon and then rain or scattered showers tonight into tomorrow  This has been one of the craziest Winteresting I have ever seen. Temps will rise as day goes on, but right now we have -3 Wind chill. I have some snow in the drive I want to clear out and then head to town before all these shenanigans start this afternoon.

Have had a bit of excitement here yesterday un that that train that goes by here periodically, derailed just up the road here on Tuesday night. Just the engine. The cars are on the track. It’s just past on intersection of two snowmobile trails and sounds like, with all the sleds crossing the tracks, it dragged more snow over the rails and compacted down, causing the engine to lose it’s grip on the rails. I noticed the other day when I walked the dogs in that trail, that there was a lot of hard packed snow in there and thought trouble was brewing. Unfortunately my premonition came true. So they are still worked g to get the thing uprighted as it’s laying at about a 45 degree angle. Will see what’s dong on my way by this morning.

But right now, want to get a move on here so I can get my “chores” done before mom nature messes up the day. Have a good one all :)

Good morning all. It’s a bitter cold morning here but tomorrow temps supposed to go up with some rain. Then Saturday is supposed to possibly be almost 60. This has been a strange winter. Yesterday was snow squalls and I discovered it was ice under the bit of snow we got. So decided to just leave it since it’s easier to walk on snow then ice. Friends left this morning for their several weeks at the beach. I’ll miss them but so happy that they are getting out of this weather. Pup is enjoying this snow. He usually comes inside with balls of snow on his feet and snow on his nose. So it’s a constant clean up. Guess it’s good that one of us enjoy snow. I would just as soon stay home today but it’s annual doctor appointment so I’ll have to brave it! Lyn, hope you get your scooter fixed soon. Barbie, sounds like you may have a new cat! Now if you could get the 2 of them to accept each other. A lot of gtg’s happening. Such fun. It’s always fun to catch up with our forum friends. That’s about all the rambling for me today. Time to get moving and get going. Have a great day.

It is downright chilly here this morning. 30 with a high of 41 and it is cloudy and foggy out. No dog walking this morning LOL stuck my nose out and went naaahhhhh.

Today is vacuuming the cobwebs that live up high, ya know out of my line of sight ha ha. Then going to make some beef stew, just sounds good on this chilly day. I will do it in the Instant Pot. Making enough to freeze a couple more meals. Also need to package up my chicken thighs I bought yesterday in the family pack...also will live in the freezer. Should have all my projects done for today by noon. Maybe the sun will peek out later, one can hope.

It was 40 here, last I checked thermometer for weather station. Has sprinkled off and on during early morning. Another cloudy day with showers.
Past few days my handyman, Sean, has been staining, sealing, and hanging trim in my room, oak, which Mel bought 30 years ago, but never was healthy enough to get hung. Sure looks different. Soon as he locates the weird hardware the pocket doors require, the last two pocket doors get hung in their pockets at last. The 30 year old pockets take much different hardware than today's doors, much smaller rollers, so challenging to find. Trying to decide on color for walls then carpet. My tasks have been cutting boxes, sorting clothes, bagging up for charity. More to do yet.
More stuff coming with VA, so can't really set camping dates yet. Hope to get out in the van a few times this spring, summer, and fall.
I made a big pot of no bean chili Monday, to which son adds his beans and I eat without. That will last another day or so. We love our chili, ESP in cool weather.
Have a good rest of your day.

I made it to the campground yesterday afternoon. There were about 13 here with more coming in today and tomorrow. Most have gone on a swamp tour but I passed. I live in a swamp. It is warm, about high 60's or low 70's but very windy. We are suppose to have bad weather coming through Friday night and Saturday morning. Need to ask where we should go for bad weather. Hope the worst goes North of here. We only have the meeting room for Friday night and Saturday so not good for visiting. It looks like with this many people coming we should be able to use a room.

I probably should go make a few laps around the park and limber up. My hip is bothering me again but I would rather be able to drink wine than take my medicine.

The Santa Ana winds arrived last night and it has been extremely windy all night and today. I kept Lily out on the porch last night and it was so noisy from the wind that I found her hiding behind some folded chairs this morning. Poor thing! She has been very good about using her litter box and covering up stuff. I think the Siamese was not too welcome by Lily. She was growling at him. Another cat in competition for food I think. I am assuming Lily is spayed since she was obviously someone's pet at one time. Maine Coons aren't cheap to get as kittens so I would imagine who ever got her as a kitten would have had her spayed.

I posted a question on the Q thread but no responses yet so I will ask here. Are we having a potluck at Sheila's place? I am putting my grocery list together and want to know if I need to plan for that. I think there are just 3 birthdays this year but correct me if I am wrong. Not sure if Anita, Sandi or any of the others that will be there, have birthdays coming up that we could include.

This wind is making me nervous! I can see rain coming over the mountains but not sure if it is supposed to reach all the way to the valley tonight or not. I better check the forecast in case I need to cover my golf cart.

Have a good evening!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Got all my chores done this morning. The sun is out so I walked the dog over to the Motorhome in the storage lot. Needed to start her up and let it run for a bit. I also started my generator and turned the heat on. Left the genny running and went home for a couple of hours. I am very diligent about starting it up every 6 weeks or so but it has been 2 months since I ran it with a load on it.

Finished lunch of beef stew and it was soooooo good. Would have liked a few biscuits with it but since I am doing low carb that wasnt happening. I bought some Dave's Killer Bread to try as someone told me it was so good. Only 70 calories per slice (21 whole grains and seeds thin sliced) 13 carbs per slice. I dont eat much bread anymore but this fits the bill for me. I took out a few slices and froze the rest. I had a slice for breakfast and it really is tasty.

Using my new, much faster, laptop that I ordered a month ago and finally picked up at my Ohio son's house. It has traveled with me to California and back to Florida, and has taken me quite a while to get everything transferred over and copied.

I am at Gamble Rogers, right on the ocean, but spent yesterday resting and doing laundry. I worked on projects today: got some phone calls made to straighten out my aunt and uncle's prescription coverage, called my broker to sell the required stock that the government requires each year since I am over 70, and did some motorhome stuff. Fixed the side light that was not working and the compartment door latch.

Also, had a valence with my MCD shades fall down a couple of months ago and have been just living with a temporary covering to my rear window. Would you believe that this valence and shade combination weight 10-15 pounds and were held up by only two screws? (Silly question because you have all experienced RV shoddy construction!) Anyway, I had bought a package of additional L-brackets, and managed to unsnap the shades and shade mechanism so I could add three extra brackets. Next step is to somehow screw the bracket back on the wall, but I may end up trying to find someone to do this for me. Need a special screwdriver head on a ratchet and it is going to be a hard reach, but at least I have done part of the job. Got a call in to MCD to get suggestions on who can do this--no listed dealers in Florida.

Anyway, got more stuff to do tomorrow, but happy I made some progress. Oh, and it was 72 and sunny today. Lovely ocean breeze to enjoy!!

No birthday for me Barbie. Sorry, I don’t know of any others.

Sue, I went to the dentist Tuesday... My jaw aching was from that two hour visit. But all is done. Whew.

Barbie, nothing's been said because the actual day of Sheila's Navajo Tacos hasn't been decided. That said if you want to let her know you'll bring a salad or dessert, I'm sure that would work. And probably take it back to the gtg thread so we can find it. Oh, and you know we often sit out, weather permitting, to gab. Snacks are always welcome then. Last year Peg made sure we did a cocktail hour most nights. We mainly provided our own cocktails, but snacks always go with those. As always, this is a very relaxed gtg...

I rode along with Sheila to Parker today. I told her I was NOT buying anything. I did good, but it's a very good thing I didn't bet on it. I had a couple things in my hands at Walmart and Sheila suggested I put them in her cart. I said absolutely not. If I get more than I can carry, I've got to put things back lol
