Good Morning on this last day of 2019. Hope this finds you well and awaiting the New Year. I just put a slab of pork ribs in the slow cooker for tonight’s dinner and am going to cook up a couple of butternut squash to freeze, so some will be on the menu as well. No plans for tonite other than the usual TV watching, game playing on here and off to bed. Will welcome the New Year in the morning Hard to believe we are on the cusp of 2020 when it seems like we were anxiously awaiting 1999’s change over to the 2000’s with a plethora of celebrations all over the world.
Mom Nature is giving us a snowy end to this year and the beginning of next. The big West coast storm arrived Sunday with heavy rain that transitioned immediately to snow yesterday morning like somebody threw a switch and dumped snow at the rate of 1-2” per hour for about 2 hours or so. Very heavy and wet. But road crews were ready and started plowing and spreading salt/sand as they went. I braved the elements and went to town. Roads were very slick but drivers were using caution and driving for conditions. Snow clearing was in full force all over. More snow expected today unto tomorrow which is making snow related businesses, skiers, snowmobiles and winter sports folks ecstatic.
So will be a good day to cook up that squash and work on this past summers camping scrapbook and think of next. Reservations already in place for 4th of July week. Little snow shoveling thrown in too I’m sure. Already ran the blower over my drive yesterday but will have more to do as well as neighbors. Feels good to be out there in the snow again, after the mild but damp, drizzly, foggy weather of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and day after.
Beth, that was a fantastic picture your friend took, looks like tbe Sky is on Fire. Judy, bet you are going to be glad to be back in FL after being around head lice, sickies etc. Barbie, Lily is sure a pretty cat. Hope you will be able to keep her and Lola accepts her. Velda, so glad your eyesight continues to improve. Before long you will be good to go.
Morning is wasting here, need to get dressed and out of jammies, get that squash cooking etc. Want to wish all of you a Happy New Year. May all your hopes and dreams come true, those trips you plan be fulfilled, maybe some GTG’s happen and those with health issues, find improvement.
