A Friday good morning!

Morning all.

Another warm dry day here in central Illinois, meeting my brother for lunch later, and Mary is starting back at the local orchard for her seasonal job. I’m still looking for a job, hopefully something will pop up soon.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Morning Mickie and all. Laying on my sofa here in my trailer as I type this. Being lay this morning after busy day yesterday. This is start of a multi week tour of the western and northern U.P. Trip with a friend and her son. They have never been to some parts of the U.P. Right now we are spending the weekend at Indian Lake State Park Near Manistique. Had a nice easy leisurely drive up yesterday, made some stops along the way. Bit warm and humid and mad setting up a bit on the sweaty side. But nice cool sleeping nights.

Before I left home, made a big batch of sloppy joes and picked up some sweet corn. Our other friends from the U.P. Arrived late afternoon and we had potluck dinner. Sloppy joes, sweet corn that I fixed over the fire on my new little Solo Stove, tossed salad, Mac salad, homemade blueberry pie with ice cream and Paleo cake. Was good food and good company. One of the couples who joined us are friends of our friends and call themselves the Crystal River Band. They are putting on a concert here at the park tonight. Fun evening of music coming up.

Okay, using data here, time to get cleaned up and ready for the day, dogs need their morning potty walk, not that they are anxious. They are stretched out sound asleep. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning gals!

Yesterday I worked on getting caught up with laundry but I ran out of propane. I have two 30 gallon propane tanks in front of my house that go to the stove/oven and the dryer. I need to get the tanks filled so I can finish my laundry, altho I need to go to the laundry room by the pool down the street this morning to dry the last two loads I washed before I ran out of heat in the dryer.
Those canisters are pretty heavy so am gonna see if I can get someone out here to fill them for me.

Lola was eating all day yesterday! She went thru almost 4 small cans of food. I gave her a capsule of the powdered antibiotic last night and that went pretty good. She still has diarrhea tho.

I bought a socket for my ratchet wrench but this one has too big of an opening on the back to fit on the wrench. I guess I will just have to bring the wrench in to HD with me to get the right fit. I am learning a lot about socket wrenches!

Sue, sounds like a really fun trip you are on! Dinner sounded delicious! I love sloppy joes!

It is gonna warm up more today to 111* but the humidity is supposed to drop as well so that will be more comfortable.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sue, you eat better camping than I do at home. I eat too much at some of the campout pot lucks.

I needed to go pick up a certified letter that came for my son so brought some weed spray so I could spray the drive way at the property North of here. The grass is so high that it's hard to see where the drive way is. Picked up my Friday fish fix at the deli. I think I'll see how much of the yard I can get mowed since we are suppose to have rain coming. Some parts are still pretty squishy. I decided to go to the meetup meal tonight.

Sloppy Joes and Michigan sweet corn sounds delicious! Much better than corn from the grocery store, which is all I seem to be able to get.

I am still adjusting to my new vision. Distance vision is an excellent 20/20, and I can see my TV well without glasses, but closeup vision is lousy. I have a junky pair of drugstore glasses that are not quite right, so I am struggling. I will pick something up and can't read what it says, which is driving me nuts. Plus I forget that I have to take off my reading glasses to see well in the distance. Habits of a lifetime!

You are supposed to wait a few weeks, but I have an appointment with Lenscrafters on Monday morning to order some good reading glasses that will fit me and have the right prescription. I am going to talk to the optician, but I think I also want a pair of transition sunglasses with no prescription in the top, but with reading glasses in the bottom.

I have postponed my kidney stone surgery to August 12, which gives me two weeks to find someone to pick me up and take me home. It can't be a cab or Uber, but someone who is supposed to check on me periodically.

I have to wear distance glasses and reading glasses which gets to be a real PITA switching from one to the other. I am still able to cut hair without glasses on but that is getting a little blurry now too, so I will have to do something about that soon.

Got some help getting one of my propane tanks filled. The handyman said that my other one is still about half full and that is the one I have hooked up for my dryer so not sure what the problem is now since I still am not getting any heat.

Off to work. Have a good day!

Good afternoon. Not much going on activity wise here. Big fire up north of me near the 7Feathers Casino in Canyonville and growing super fast it is now doubled in size and last report was 1650 acres. Probably bigger now. It is about 75 miles north of me BUT all the smoke has come down here and settled in the valley. I have to go over mountains no matter which direction I need to go so it just hugs those mountains all around me YUCK. Last report from the fire people is it will be burning for several weeks...oh goody.

Worked inside today and got my rugs shampooed. I am not sure how Emma makes it so dirty LOL Tomorrow is laundry day and will steam mop the kitchen and bathroom floors. Then going to just veggie out. Planning on cooking something on my BBQ tomorrow so need to take something out of the freezer. Might make a baked potato in the Air Fryer (love them) to go with whatever I think I feel like having tomorrow.

Right now it is time for my Blended Chocolate Mocha. My new favorite diet drink. I buy Chocolate ALmond milk, add ice, pop in the blender and it is super good and only 100 calories per cup. I have lost 6lbs but have more to go. It is slow but it is happening.

Last night I went with Linda and 4 other employees to see Mama Mia at the Black Hills Playhouse. It was fabulous. I laughed so much! Today, as with all Fridays this summer, was a busy one at the store. Things are hopping which will continue for a few weeks. When Sturgis is over just before the middle of August, we'll crash and burn LOL All this said I'm not predicting a very busy Sturgis.

I'm hoping to get to bed early and sleep well tonight. Tomorrow I'll drive into Rapid to Pet Smart and hope we have better success finding furever homes for the animals Friends of Pets brings up.

Barbie can you get a big canister set up that they have to come fill up..seems it would be more economical in the long run... I realize that you might have to check with the office to see what is allowed... even in Q one of the places will go and either fill if a larger tank or pick up and take them and fill them and return them... typically if you get a larger tank you will get a better rate per gal. guess it depends upon the company you deal with so might ask questions of neighbors who are there... now would be a good time would think in that there isn't a lot of people there so they will be looking for customers which normally means better deals.. you might have the regulator checked but that is something the propane people will need to look at... i think...
I bet that was a fun play to watch Beth..
would love some fresh sweet corn... sounds so yummy saw it at wal mart 40 cents an ear and who knows how old...
I did some sanding on my gs's memory box think it is feeling pretty good so need to wipe it down find out if the grandson like dark wood or light wood or if he knows...
other than that not much did talk with my sister for a bit and crocheted two rows which is ok tomorrow will do 2 rows then back to the three... it truly makes since .... then FFF all though not the whole fam joined in watched a movie not one that I would typically do but finally got caught up in it like the last 45 mins perhaps....
don't know what tomorrow will bring
