Sunny Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Tuesday

Postby Othersharon » Tue Jul 09, 2019 11:05 am

Greetings all. It was a very foggy morning but is shaping up to be a nice day. I need to get the last of my stuff into Lola in preparation of leaving. Plus I must get the yard mowed this afternoon now that it has finally dried out. I have to go into State College in awhile to meet up with daughter in law and son. He has a meeting to go to so I’m in charge of taking her home after a dental procedure. And of course this is the beginning of their Arts Festival so I’ll get into all that mess. Today is setup for vendors so I can only imagine what traffic will be like. Not to mention parking! Will be a busy afternoon!
I’m getting excited to get on the road and taking this trip. Should be a fun time and get to visit with one of my favorite people! So with that thought I need to get a move on and go deal with State College! Have a great day and travel safe.

Cooler today (77 degrees) and I can hear a few drops on the roof. No real rain expected, however. I have a ton of work to do today. Getting nervous about cataract surgery next Tuesday on one eye and following Tuesday on the other eye.

Plus, I am very busy trying to get things like cable tv and phones shut off in two homes. Mostly, they were already disconnected for non-payment of bills, but we need to straighten out last bills and one big refund. Don't know how that happened, but company sent refund check for $820, but it was not cashed, so need to get another check cut. And each calls takes forever waiting online--40 minutes for one and then they cut me off. Grrrr.

Anyway, this is a nice, quiet campground today. It is almost full, but not a lot of weekday vacationers.

Have fun on your trip Sharon!

I didn't hear back from my insurance guy so I just went to a State Farm office down the road and got the insurance taken care of on the trailer. Then went to the storage place and got that all squared away.

It occurred to me that I can't really move the trailer until I get the new jack put on first since I have no way to adjust the front of the trailer up and down to put it on the new hitch ball. So I am trying to get ahold of my handyman to see if he can do that for me.

Judy, had both eyes done for cataracts last year. Easy peasy and couldn’t be happier with results. Hoping yours goes as well

Hey Carol! Good to see you posting! Where have your travels taken you lately?

I ended up getting one of the security guys (I didn't ask him, he volunteered!) to remove the old jack and put on the new one! Easy peasy! Got my new hitch ball and put that on. Will probably wait until after work on Thursday to move the camper to the storage lot. I start my new job tomorrow from 2-8 and don't want to deal with anything stressful before I go. I am nervous enough on the first day as it is!

I did go back to the large storage unit and took two loads back to the house. Still have to unload the last stuff into the shed and porch. Still have two loads left, mostly larger things. Then that will be done! Whew! That will save me $135 per month.

Everything was SO covered in dust and now I am so covered in dust, so need to get that showered off as soon as I am done unloading. I hate dust! My eyes are itchy too. All part of living in the desert I guess. Earthquakes, heat and dust, oh my!

Hi everyone! It's past dinner time, but I have ice cream or mint chocolate cream pie for dessert.

Sharon, where are you going camping? Meeting anyone we know? Judy, you deserve some quiet time. You've had your share of aunt & uncle time. Barbie, I'm sure things are different in CA, but 30 years ago in MD, our truck insurance covered our trailer. But like I said, that was 30 years ago.

We are starting to do the touristy stuff here. Unfortunately, it was chilly here today and we never got out of the 60's. I was not happy and had to dress accordingly. Tomorrow and the rest of week are supposed to be in the 80's, but I will take a sweater or jacket with me. Being cold is one of my pet peeves. The scenery here is gorgeous and I'm so glad we've had the opportunity to do this. We still have lots more to see before we get back to FL. Mile & miles of the USA.

Irmi, where are you now? I would love it to be in the 60's right now! I may have to make a beach trip soon! Or at least drive up the mountain for a day.

My car insurance covers the trailer while I am towing it. The trailer insurance covers it while it is parked, like if there is an earthquake, vandalism, etc. It is only $85 per year for that so pretty cheap.

Thanks for the explanation of your trailer insurance. Maybe since we parked ours in our backyard, we didn't need it. But that was a long time ago.

We are in Cody WY and we'll be here for another 8 days. Tomorrow, we're going to Yellowstone. I have a feeling that's going to be a 2 day trip. There is so much to see and do in this area. As much as I love traveling, I really enjoy not having to get on the road each and everyday. I't's wearing on my nerves. I'm wondering where we're going to be 5 or 10 years from now. As much as I love this creature, I think it's starting to wear on Steve's nerves.

been boxing up stuff so that dd's cupboards can be refinished still have lots of stuff to do then the tops of the counters as well it's trying to put stuff where they can be found for the 2-4 weeks that she will be kitchenless... conservative timing at that sil has been working on the master bath floor for close to a year and it's a one butt sink and toilet bath room  we will hope that the kitchen will be more important... the whole project started out with the floor needs to be done and if it's done the rest will look dingy so it moorfed into walls and cupboards also
my granddaughter got her test scores back today one is in 9th grade which here is part of middle school but she took a AP class in Spanish (she has been in duel immersion all her school life) she passed that class with a 4 .... 3 being passing 5 being top...those that got the passed I guess get a college prof coming to the high school for the next 3 years teaching them Spanish when they finish if they complete and pass the course they will have a minor in Spanish if I am saying that right really happy with her
so tomorrow brings more of the same adding in cleaning the cupboards
oh also made cake and dip for the b'day girl and all the rest to enjoy

Irmi, the only way I can be full-time is to not travel in vacation mode. That means I take a minimum of double the time as a vacation would take while traveling. Hope that makes sense. Otherwise I'm on overload and exhausted.

Right now I should be sleeping, but just am not tired. I will be when I need to get up. Nothing new. I'm looking forward to winter when I can turn my days and nights upside down without a worry. I'm thinking this winter will be a repeat of last... Playing around New Mexico and Arizona again.

Judy, here wishing you only the best on both cataract surgeries.

Barbie, glad the ball, etc are all on correctly now!

I think it is referred to as a half bath... has a sink and toilet no shower or bathtub
