Weary Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Weary Wednesday

Postby BarbaraRose » Wed Jul 10, 2019 9:50 am

Good morning all!

I am so exhausted from everything that has happened this past week! I am having bathroom issues, I am sure from all the stress and anxiety I have been feeling. Am hoping things settle down soon both physically and mentally!

I start my job this afternoon. Am hoping that goes well since I don't need any more stress right now!

Trailer is ready to be moved but that won't happen until tomorrow afternoon.

I think I am gonna go back to bed for a couple more hours... Have a good day! :D

I finished up the last reports for my season project/s Friday and headed off to Huntington, WV. The drive through southeastern Ohio and over the river into West Virginia put a visual on economic depression and the opioid crisis. The little towns had their share of "recovery" centers but very little sign of healthy commerce. SE Ohio is part of Appalachia. I think that the only bright spot holding Huntington together is probably Marshall University and the small area of main street that serves as a tourist, parent, student attraction.....

Josef had a good weekend. I tried to post his picture from FB but I couldn't get it to load from the RV.Net site, so you will just have to take my word for how handsome he was/is. He turned 4 years old yesterday, but was unimpressed. He earned a Group 3 in the Owner Hander Sporting Group each day and on Sunday he went back into the Regular Sporting Group and picked up a Group 4. That is only the fourth time he has placed in the regular group. The first time was a year ago in Illinois. He is maturing but the Regular Groups are full of Professional Handlers, most of which are excellent at their jobs and more that a few of the dogs are multiple Best in Show winners and/or rated in the top ten of their breed. That pond is usually to big for Josef. He chances increase significantly in the "small pond" of the Owner Handler ring amount similarly skilled dogs and their people.

Ran my errands today. I drove Josef up to Columbus hand him off to Cindy yesterday. I am ready to complete some last minute laundry and get packed for my trip to New York City for a long weekend. My daughter Kate is flying up from Charlotte, NC, to meet me. Our flights arrive within an hour of each other and off we will go. I think that most of our stops will be museums with the sightseeing along the way to and from. I will know more as I live it. I told her that since I can't possibly see everything, I am happy enough to see what we see and I can always come back another time. I have a friend from high school that lives in the city when he isn't out of town with a show (he is in the theater) and he is meeting us Saturday at a Malaysian restaurant. That is another good thing that my daughter does, introduces me to all sorts of ethnic foods that I would not normally stumble into. Hope to take some pictures.

I am comfortable driving across the country but checking out NYC required some supervision and an experienced guide, well at least this first time it does!

I'm still watching the weather. I went to Walmart and it's a zoo. Almost everyone had 2 or more cases of water and they were almost out of bread. Water is the last thing I lose in a storm. I haven't talked to the neighbors or the guy that has cattle here to see what their plans are. Hopefully by tomorrow we will have a better idea of what the storm is going to do. We have lucked out for the last few years and haven't had to worry about which way to run. It's times like this that makes me think about moving.

Tina, glad you are retired again. lol I saw Josef's picture and he is a handsome boy. Good luck in NYC. I think if I found myself there alone I would find the nearest hole and crawl in. I went with my son years ago and it felt like all we did was go in circles.

its been a busy day here as well.. we have all the doors off the top cabinets all but one emptied on and one we decided to let stuff stay in it...all the doors cleaned tomorrow we will take the bottom doors off and do the drawers.. she is going to do a paint/glaze technique trying to decide on a back splash as the previous owners put up this board of something yellow something but from pulling one corner away it looks like we will create a mess if we try to remove it so need to figure out something to put over it...it's looking like the cabinets can't come down without a lot of issues as well so will have to deal with it on the wall... but she has a conference next week and I am going home on Monday.. Saturday going to babysit two of my granddaughters in SLC

Just got home from work a little while ago. Had a good first day. Not real busy but tips were great! I worked with the manager and she seems very nice and easy-going.

Need to get to bed soon. I have to get up around 6:15 so I can get to work by 7:45. It is about a half hour drive.

When I get home tomorrow, I will move the trailer to the storage lot. Then finish cleaning out the large storage unit.

Martha, hope you aren't too affected by the upcoming storm. Tina, have fun on your trip!

The heat (113*+) is on its way back, along with some humidity!

Yay, Barbie, a good first day. Now hopefully your nerves can settle.

And here's the pic Tina wanted to post... And an awesome picture it is!
