July’s first Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

July’s first Sunday

Postby Othersharon » Sun Jul 07, 2019 10:02 am

Good morning. I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around it being July already! I had a quiet 4th other then the fireworks and occasional thunder as the storms moved through. Poor dog was glued to my side. I’m hoping tonight is quieter! I need to mow the yard before I leave this week for NY but it’s questionable if it’ll happen. We have had rain almost everyday or night for several days running. The weeds are growing well too! I spent time rearranging and getting rid of extra and unnecessary things in Lola the other day. So little by little I’m starting to load her for this trip.
So not much else happing here right now which is good considering the crazy couple of weeks I’ve had dealing with family stuff. Just hoping you all have a good day and week wherever and whatever you’re doing.

I did very little yesterday. The thermometer on my porch, in the shade, got up to 100. It was like an oven outside. I doubt I'll do much today. I need to mow so hope it doesn't decide to rain later this afternoon. The weather channel is talking about something developing in the Gulf. Just what we need.

There is a campout next weekend that is only an hour from me. It is suppose to rain so think I'll wait to make a reservation. Hank is still on medicine so I might not go at all. I'm not going to board him.

My meetup group was eating at Panera Bread this morning at 9:00 but I didn't go. I don't know what their breakfast food is like but I'm not a fan of their regular food. I find it tasteless. I also don't like to try to get to Lafayette at 9:00 on a Sunday.

Barbie, I'm glad your accident wasn't worse. Hope it's not an expensive fix.

Cool front went through late yesterday afternoon, so had a very nice chilly night for sleeping. Today is supposed to get up to 84, but very nice breeze.

My co-POA and I have been swamped in details. She is trying to figure out which of three residences a bill from someone like Comcast is from, for example. I am trying to figure out why they seem to have two Plan C Medical supplement bills, as well. I thought he had two free plans through the state of Georgia as part of his retirement and from the Air Force, but he has been paying monthly fees for each. Also working to cancel cable TV and several credit cards. Not very easy as each requires a POA statement. Plus got another call from aunt and uncle basically asking me under what authority I have POA!! They can't remember ever giving it to me and are furious because they feel they can certainly handle their own affairs!

It is after 2 pm and I just stopped to have a breakfast bagel! Course, that is partly because I slept in this morning. Got people camping in front of me now, so more people to watch. This is a really nice campground, by the way. There are two rows in the full-hookup RV area. The "back" row is also the higher row by about 20' so the view is better here. The lower level is closer to the lake so they are more popular with families, but sites are slightly closer together. I like it up here--quieter and more space, but still a good view Fee is $30 per night. (There is a more wooded, older campground here, but it cannot take bigger rigs and has no hookups whatsoever.) Check out Emigrant Lake Recreation area on your way from California to Oregon.

Hi everyone!

Sharon, enjoy your next outing! Martha, I'm happy that you are able to get together with your camping groups when you do.

Today is a down day for us as we're leaving in the morning to continue our trip west. We will drive from Casper WY to Cody WM. I'm guessing it will be about a 4 hour trip. Thankfully, the weather will be a good travel day. We went to Walmart earlier to get necessities for the next few days. Most importantly was ice cream.

Irmi, I like your priorities on stocking your fridge! I was hoping to get a fridge big enough to have a freezer so I could have ice cream with me too! Mine will work!

Couldn't find a hitch ball of 2 5/16ths anywhere around here so I ordered one from Amazon along with a few other things I need like a new front jack, etc. Won't get that until Tuesday. I will call a couple places around here in the morning to see who can inspect the trailer for me to make sure nothing else is damaged and just an overall check, like the roof, tires, etc.

I have been over to the trailer a couple times today to look over the inside. Doesn't need anything other than a mattress pad to soften that up some, bedding, shower curtain and towels, which I have from the old house that I am not using in the new house, some kitchen stuff, and some personal stuff. It is pretty much move in/travel-ready on the inside. It really looks brand new inside and I love the colors, very earthy and warm.

I checked on-line and I am released from jury duty! Yay! One less thing to worry about!

Now if we have no more earthquakes, I can start to relax and lower my anxiety levels! I can't handle so much excitement (good and bad) in such a short time span!

Also need to check with the vet since Lola's diarrhea is back. I need to get her back on the meds that were working and get back to the food she had before, that she liked.

I think my first trip out with the camper (I need a name) will be to Phoenix, actually. I still have all that ferret stuff I want to get to the ferret shelter out there and that would be a good excuse to spend a couple days trying out the camper too. Maybe by then, Ava will be back home and we can visit.

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, for sure get the tires on the trailer checked out. A blow out can do a lot of damage.

It took me over 2 hours but I got all the mowing done. My sister just called to tell me that one of the models shows the tropical depression coming on shore right where I live. Of course, this is something that hasn't even formed yet.

Sounds like you are getting all dialed in Barbie. Good idea to have it checked over. I do that every year when I get dewinterized, I have them check my roof seals.

Emma and I just walked over to the storage area and brought the Motorhome over. Started the fridge and opened the windows for some cooler air. Will take my time loading in the morning.

Beth, will mail your book when I get back from camping I have not forgot about you LOL

NP Karen.

And Barbie, you've reminded me that I need to call the mobile rv service I like here. I have him check every bit of caulking and the roof, etc. If I wait too late in the season he gets super busy. I have a few minor things I'm also find to ask him to do. I need to make a list. I always forget something.

I spent today at Pet Smart with the organization I got Ty from. We didn't have any adoptions today, but several interested. And that often turns into adoptions. Sadly, one man fell in love with one of the dogs but it's a dog that doesn't do well with cats, and he has two. So it didn't matter how well they got along. These dogs went back to their fosters today, but their forever homes will happen.
