Friday 5th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday 5th

Good morning
We survived the booms and I have to say such a great neighborhood display !! Abby in her hideee hole behind the bed and Maggie glued to my chest under a blanket. Today we will do some minor chores in between raindrops, but will get packed up tomorrow for early departure Monday morning. I 80 east to LaSalle and then turn north to Appleton.
Checking on some of my financial stuff,, I got notification my cell phone was paid for I could get an upgrade. Of course they would like me to buy a new one,, but my first thought was,,, my phone bill should go down and if not I would be calling customer service. This morning I get my notice my bill is ready to view,,,, yep, its like $15 cheaper. Glad I didn't have to get ballistic with Verizon. :-)
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

We survived the noise pretty well -- even though the local firecrackers didn't stop until about 2:00 am! (I'll refrain from my rant.) Drew likes to curl up under my desk chair, with me firmly seated in the chair, so that's what we did. I sort of think he believes the bang-bangs will have to go through me to get to him!

Quiet day today, sleepy and slow.

Woke up early, got dressed and am waiting for the handyman to show up to do some work thing morning. Then on the phone to cancel my jury duty. Then a load of stuff to the thrift store and pick up more stuff at the storage units. I am already needing a nap!

Hope all your pups and kitties survived the booms last night! Lola could have cared less. Have a good day!

It was a long evening, my dogs thought they needed to bark at the firework noise. I was almost wishing they were afraid by the time the worst was over. It is so hot here I didn't want to venture out. My two little dogs love the heat though and want to go lay in the sun. I have to put a timer on so they don't stay out too long. We just had the first 7 straight days with NO rain since the first of January. The flooding is tragic so many homes and acres and acres of farmland are under water.

Hope you get the jury situation taken care of Barbie.

Late afternoon here in the U.P. Beautiful summer day, with temp around 79 and nice breeze off the lake. Lot of people pulled out today including my friends who are also heading to Appleton for grandson/nephew graduation party tomorrow. I will be leaving tomorrow morning for home myself.

Was a nice quiet day here yesterday till dusk and then some local fireworks were shot off by one of the local resorts and a couple other places on the lake. Probably couple hours if that and that was all. Some were pretty. I was over at friends campfire, dogs were sleeping in the trailer. They don’t pay attention to bangs. Had a good rain durning the night, but none today.

So that’s the report for today here.

Hi there!
I finally felt my first earthquake - actually an aftershock this morning. I woke up around 3:45 & a bit later thought Sadie was rubbing against the bed, then realized she was still in her kennel. Turned on the TV & the news confirmed we just had a 5.4 aftershock. The newscaster who was in the area where it was centered was visibly a little shaken (literally). The amazing thing was he had driven 2 hours to get to the location from the LA area yet we felt the after-shock just 45 seconds after it happened. Didn't know they moved that fast!
Not much else happening here - just enjoying the pleasant temps - especially at night. Looking forward to a quiet weekend with nothing planned. :)
Trying to keep up with all your activities. Judyb, hope you get a bit of a rest after all the dealings for your aunt & uncle.
Take care,
Catherine

Went to drop off car load of stuff to thrift store this morning and then picked up a load of stuff from storage. I have two cable tv units from the old house that need to be returned and DISH is wanting them back ASAP so I needed to find them today which I did, in the very back of the unit under a pile of other boxes! My handyman was running late so I did all that first this morning before he came. He fixed quite a lot of stuff on my list and just has two more things to take care of next weekend.

I am going to LA tomorrow to look at a little travel trailer. It is 14.5 feet and in really good condition and a decent price (same price range as the Aliners I have seen on CL but has full bathroom, etc). It is kind of like Lyn's trailer but a little different layout.

Catherine, I didn't feel that aftershock but I didn't really feel the one from yesterday either, other than hearing the house creaking.

we went to the local fireworks last night we got there about 9 perhaps they didn't start until 10:30 and lasted about a 1/2 hr. were ok but then the ones that used to be at Huntsman's place were awesome so it's hard to return to the less than awesome. but I do enjoy watching them... I really like to see the one's that look like a waterfall I think...
just got a text from my sister in Vegas just felt a earthquake
but have no news other than that
it appears to be a 7.1 according to CA news apparently in the same area as yesterday's
it's(the broadcast) preempting Hawaii 5-0 hopefully it doesn't take long
oh now it's a 6.9 downgraded
today I just spent it doing stuff found an envelope of b'day cards sent to Larry for his 65 th birthday... was fun looking through them a lot of them are no long alive though ....
did dishes ... Dr Phil dealt with a brain trauma my grandson had a concussion last summer was classified a "light" concussion it's amazing the after effects of it and the length of time... they did not know cause it was billed a light concussion he didn't even file for workman's comp...till this spring when the dr's said that all that he has experienced this winter was due to that "light concussion" vision problems, lack of focusing short term memory nausea ect boy kid barely graduated and hasn't even looked for a summer job as he has so many dr's appt coming up ... if they had only known so he could have started treatment earlier..
my youngest dd came now several have gone to the movies.... just not the ones that I wanted to see.
so I stayed home.
