June's Last Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

June's Last Friday

Mornin' ladies~~~
Summer finally arrived in the Chitown burbs this week. Hot. Humid. Thunderstorms daily. ugh! At least no hail. :?

Took me 5 days to get the new TT organized, but I only did a bit each day. More storage but the hardest part was figuring out where to put dried food since this one has drawers instead of a pantry and where to put the dog food since it has drawers under the kitchen sink instead of a cabinet. I forgot how loud rain is on a slide too!

Truck is still in the shop but work can now continue since the sun roof panel that was on nationwide back order finally came in. Estimated completion date is July 12th. I miss my truck!

Alice sure hope you're staying safe as the storms move thru Iowa.

That's it from me.

I am at the Lima, OH, dog shows. Josef is pretty much done and I am about to change out of the comfortable and cool shorts and tank top to put on my show clothes. This is definitely a no jacket day, temperature wise. Hot and muggy and keep hydrating sort of day. The show grounds have electric but who ever sold them on the contract to put it in forgot to think about the drain a bunch of RV and vans can put on the system during the hot summer shows. And the Lima shows have been the end of June early July for the past 30 years..... I put my frig on propane so that it wouldn’t take the hits as the electric fades. Last summer I think I finally just unhooked and turned on my generator on the worst afternoon.

Hoping your adventures in elder support are continuing bring productive results, Judy. There really are no road maps for many of the detours that come our way....

Good Morning to all. We are still enjoying cool then normal weather here in Vegas. ONLY going to be 101 today. Yesterday high was 99 - thank goodness - as we were without air conditioning all day. Got the new one installed and it is working great. It is so quiet I have to check the vents to see if it is running! The old one - it was 32 years old. I asked the installer if he new how old it was and he said older than me and I"m 31. Glad the poor thing lasted as long as it did. It was still working but doing a lot of groaning and if in the future after Jan 2020 it had problems it wouldn't be repairable as freon will no longer be allowed.
Bill got a more or less clean bill of health from the cardiologist. Needs a couple of routine - after stents - tests in September but otherwise doc said "Have fun."
I finished my quilt for our friend in Mazatlan so am now trying to figure out another project to keep me busy inside.
IF we can figure out a cooler area we will take the RV out for a month or so sometime in July. And if we can find campgrounds that still have sites open.
Other then that not much going on around here.
Hard to believe June is ending so soon.
Stay safe on your travels.

Beth, glad things are picking up there for the season. Keeps you out of trouble! Glad too that you will get to meet up with Irmi and Steve for a bit.

Carol, happy for Bill that he is finally feeling good and got a good report from his doctor.

My next door neighbor came by this morning to tell me someone got into her RV last night and stole a box of baseball cards she has collected. She was home at the time too! She never heard a thing but saw the door was open this morning and then noticed the box was missing. She said she never locks her doors because she assumed with the security gates, that it was safe here. I am so glad I lock everything because I am sure whoever robbed her, probably checked my doors as well. There have been reports on NextDoor.com lately of thefts in neighboring communities by some teenagers that come thru around 3 or 4am. Here, we have the security gate and guards but these kids come up over the 6 foot wall around the resort.
I had a "driveway" alarm but can only find part of it, so I ordered another one with two remote motion sensors. They work really well, altho I didn't use it much at my other place because the raccoons kept tripping it at night!
Also ordered a motion sensor light.

Spent most of the day paying bills and getting my finances organized. The other day, I called the number on the summons for Jury Duty and got a recording with lots of options to go to. It kept asking for the same things over and over with each option so I finally gave up and hung up. I got on-line and filled out a form to let them know I no longer live in San Diego county and cannot serve there. I have not heard anything back yet. I will try again next week but the 11th is coming up soon! I wish I could talk to a real live person!!!

I got my motivation back today so am hoping that stays with me thru the weekend so I can get the porch and shed cleared out and get more stuff moved in from the storage units.

No news on Great Clips altho I did call the manager today to check and she said the owner has been in meetings so she is hoping to hear from him tomorrow.

I gave Lola a can of cat food I had left over from the grocery story (Fancy Feast) and within a couple hours she had diarrhea again. So no more of that. Back to the prescription food.

Have a good evening!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Beth, we will be there tomorrow!

We went to Devils Tower today, walked the trail around it, which was challenging, and from there went to Sturgis. This has been an exciting journey!

my youngest dd has bought some water beads I am going to put them in each pot and see if they will water the plants so that while I am gone I can hopefully get someone to water them once while I am gone... and hopefully my plants will do ok
my kids had all gotten tickets to Hugh Jackman in SLC for the 12 my eldest dd asked if I could come down and help her with work on the kitchen and son calls and said that his wife had to go to CA that weekend and would I be his back up sitter in case he has to work on the weekend think I am going to take his wife's place at the concert I think ... while in SLC/Ogden I hope to get the trucks A/C fixed will leave on the 8th and return on the 15th I believe.
Irmi you need to go on the Needles highway... that may not be the right name but ask Beth what it is... it's really pretty on that road and the lake up there... don't know if it's on right now or now but in Spearfish there is a play about Christ never have seen it but it is suppose to be really good..... has been a go to in Spearfish for many many years... again I am sure Beth has information on it ...my mom was born and raised in Rapid City so have had the good fortune of going there lots in my childhood... and now I am a SD resident. Have a fun day and see you when you get to the parks

Sheila, The Passion Play in Spearfish was discontinued several years back. They had too much trouble getting actors to commit to nightly performances and their revenue was down.
