Successful Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Successful Thursday

Postby JudyJB » Thu Jun 27, 2019 6:42 am

Am in hot and humid Florida getting my aunt and uncle's affairs in order. Yesterday, met with lawyer and bank, and got all the finances in our name. Now need to open up new account at a bank that has branches throughout country and transfer money. Also, checked out condo they had moved from and met aunt and uncle for dinner at their assisted living facility. Aunt is doing better, and uncle even seems physically a bit better, but most importantly, they are both very happy to have us take control--this from a couple who have been adamant for years they could handle things! So things are going well.

One issue is that car is missing, but we know it was moved somewhere a couple of months ago to prevent uncle from trying to drive it. Got to find out where it is today. We also need to go through bills today and get cell phone cord so it can be charged. Also, they are paying for four cell phone lines, and three of them are lost phones, so need to get them deleted. Plus minor things like putting a credit lock on their accounts and getting rid of extra credit cards. Then will take one and reduce credit limit to a much smaller amount to limit liability. So things are going well.

So, off to tasks for today!! Got to check rental condo and meet with CPA after going through bills. Tomorrow will be to get results of dementia evaluation and look for another facility. Whew!!

Yay! I don't envy you what you're having to do but that you're being successful and getting so much done is awesome. And, I think this is the first time you've ever said that they are finally accepting the changes.

I couldn't go to sleep last night so went back to bed this morning. Feel like a train ran over me still but have things to do. Should be a beautiful day in the 80's today.

Good morning gals!

Had my interview yesterday which went well. Did three haircuts on a mannequin. The manager needed to talk to the owner and will let me know today when I can start. Hopefully, soon!

Later, I met with a group from the resort for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. There were about 30+ people there. I sat by a couple about my age who have been at the resort for about a year and love it. Had a nice conversation.

Today I am going to look at a couple of small travel trailers for sale. Not rushing into anything but just want to look.

Then I need to get to work around here!

Judy, am so glad things are falling into place with your aunt and uncle finally! Good news! Hope you find the car!

Have a good day! :D

Good morning, sitting in Iowa until after holiday. Certainly am sleeping well even though its noisy with highway , train and air force base noise. Guess my brain remembers from my early years and it just feels like white noise. This little park was hit by a tornado last year and then two floods, the last one still trying to dry out from. They just reopened a few days ago. That big old Missouri river is still swollen!
I really liked Nebraska when I went through there, lots of deer, dead and alive ! Saw turtles on the road, lots of raccoons and even an opposum and a few muskrats. It was very green with lots of trees.
The puppies are fine , loving grass under their feet and even doing very well walking through puddles. Over the years dogs I've had didn't like to get their feet wet!! Abby and Maggie don't even think about it, they just keep going.
The humidity is high, I expected that but its not killing me, course I don't do anything strenuous just relaxing.
Ya'll have a great day.

Congrats Judy on all you’ve accomplished with your aunt and uncle’s affairs. Wish I knew my affairs will be handled so efficiently if needed before I die and after. They are very lucky to have you and your cousin taking care of things.

Hi everyone! It's not morning anymore but we just got back from taking a scenic drive through a canyon starting in Lead that went for many miles. This area is just stunning. Our destination was a Walmart to stock our pantry and refrigerator and the route home was much quicker but still pretty. It looks like we'll be meeting up with Beth Saturday. Sheila, we will be in Casper WY July 1 through the 8th. That day we leave to go to Absaroka Bay in Cody Wyoming and will leave there on the 18th.

Judy, I'm so happy you are getting so much done for your aunt & uncle. I hope things continue in a positive direction. Barbie, I hope you hear from Great Clips soon.

Spent the day driving and looking at trailers. One place I went near Riverside, I was corralled by two salespeople who wouldn't leave me alone. All they had were new rigs and I told them I wasn't in the market for new and couldn't afford them. They kept me "detained" for quite a long time before I made a break for it out of there! Whew! Then I went to another lot not far from there where they gave me a list of what they had available and sent me out to the lot to look on my own. Much more comfortable! I did find two I liked but still more than I want to spend. Went up to Yucca Valley to look at one I saw on CL but they had just sold it the day before. I am not in a hurry to buy anything so will just keep looking.

Was too tired from all the driving when I got home to do anything. Fell asleep on the couch for awhile. Off to bed now.

before we bought the 5th wheel we looked and looked and looked... for literally years. we went to one place told them we were just looking not buying today and could we go look... pretty much was told to come back when we were buying... we never went back and it wasn't a long time that we noticed they were out of business. we had two places we routinely went to that we could just wander and look rarely were we accompanied
