Thursday the Day Before Summer

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday the Day Before Summer

Mornin' ladies~~~

Summer is not quite in quite in IL yet, but weather folks are saying this weekend it should be in the mid 80s. We shall see.

Signed the docs and did the PDI on the new TT yesterday. Friends husband will drive the current one to the dealer on Saturday, and bring the new one back to Camp Dads Driveway. At least that will be settled. Unfortunately no ETA on the truck yet. One of the glass sun roof panels are on a nationwide back order. :o The body shop and his Ford rep have been on the phone almost daily trying to get an update. Insurance company has been seeing if the can get it also. In the meantime, they are still working on all the dents. I miss my truck!

That's it from me. Have a good day ladies.

Morning Cheryl, I hear you about summer. Seems to skim by for a couple of days, then disappear altogether. Very weird. Hope your new TT is awesome and you get your truck back asap.

Nothing doing here today, had lunch plans with a friend but her husband came down with the flu yesterday so we’ll have to reschedule. I’ll make a crustless pizza and salad and watch the US women’s soccer match instead.

Had little sleep the last few nights and keep trying to sleep in, but big problem on west coast is people on east coast calling you at a "reasonable" hour for their time zone!! After a few text messages and a couple of phone calls, you just give up. I know this is really, really old news to the West Coasters on this forum, but it is something those of us who lived (or used to live) on the east coast forget.

Also little sleep because of upcoming trip to Florida. Wish it could be one where we sat under an umbrella and watched life go past on the beach, but no such luck!

Judy, hope things get taken care of soon with your Aunt and Uncle! That is so stressful for everyone involved. :(

I am already wishing summer was over! I keep hearing "just wait 'til August!". OMG! It gets worse??

I will be getting my golf cart tomorrow afternoon sometime. I guess they put a new stereo system in it, along with new batteries, the fans in the front, and are cleaning it up really nice for me. Can't wait!

Need to get my living room cleared out for the furniture coming in later today. That will be so nice to get that in here!

I bought new house numbers for the front and am painting them teal, the same color I want to paint the trim around the windows with. The trim, tho, will have to wait til fall when it is cooler outside.

I wanted to replace the worn carpet in the sunroom with peel and stick tiles, but with this heat, I realize that won't work. Will have to come up with another idea. I don't want carpet out there, so maybe laminate flooring. Will figure that out later.

I better keep moving along here! Have a good one!

Roberta and I went to Custer State Park today. Here's a pic of her feeding a donkey.

Sadly I couldn't show her Needles Highway because it was closed today. I guess for some road work. But we had fun and saw lots of buffalo, too.

Well, things don't always go as planned...

I picked up the U-Haul truck and met the guy who was helping me, back at my house (he is one of the realtors here at the park who had offered to help me). We went and picked up the furniture and got it all loaded fine. Got back to my house to unload it... but the love seats and recliner won't fit thru the door of my house! :o We tried every which way including taking the stuffing out of the attached back cushions. Nada! So now it all sits in my porch and on my deck. :( Tomorrow I will have to call someone to come out and remove my sliding door so we can get the furniture inside! Always something!

Was too late to return the U-Haul tonight so will have to get up early and return it before they think I stole it! (had one UHaul place actually threaten to call the police and report the truck stolen even tho I returned it the night before. Turns out they wrote the truck number wrong on the order!)

I am exhausted and sweaty! Luckily, it is really windy today so that helped it feel more tolerable while we were moving stuff. A shower will feel really good tonight! Then off to bed early! We did get my bike and kayak here too, so I put the kayak under the porch. While under there, I found two bins she left that are full of clothes. I just left them there for now.

I do know that it is cold tonight and windy for the last couple of days very windy!!! spitting rain even took a sheet out and covered my more tender plants will hope I didn't covered the wrong ones...
tomorrow to my mom's going to make with the dd's help make freezer meals for my mom... my 3rd dd spend's several nights a week at her house this will make it easier for her as well
mom is 92 will be 93 in Oct been told to take it easy but it's a fine line of doing too much for her and not letting her do what she perhaps can.
Not last winter but the winter before I picked up some flavored vinegar's at the tent sales so we finally remembered to get bread and dip into the vinegar's pretty tasty
that is too bad Barbie that you couldn't get them into the house easily hope it goes well tomorrow

Extremely windy here tonight! I hear things hitting the roof, probably pieces coming off the palm trees. I also discovered that one of my bedroom windows isn't shutting completely. Will have to get that fixed. Always things to discover with a new house. I have a list started for the handyman!

It actually is nice out tonight as far as the temps go! Would be nice to be able to sit outside for awhile (I do have furniture outside! Lol!). But instead I am off to bed!
