Sunny and Dry Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny and Dry Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jun 17, 2019 6:40 am

Good Morning on this sunny mid June day. A break from rain. Only had one and a half days without it last week, so O’Sharon, I know exactly how you feel. Getting tired of rain and mid October temps. Everybody’s saying same thing. Summers are short in the north and this just makes it shorter. The lakes and rivers are really high. They are telling boaters to be careful with their wakes along the shorelines, plus things floating in the waters to watch for, not to mention some docks and piers are at water level and boats can easily wind up on top of them. Some state parks have had to reduce campsites due to high water from the Great Lakes or low lying areas. And the beach lovers are either finding their favorite beaches much smaller or non existent.

I’m heading over to visit with Dave and Eileen (Beazle) today. They are camping about an hour from me. So a mini GTG coming up.

Been reading about everybody’s doings, coming and goings. Getting hard to keep up here.

But I had better head for the shower and get myself moving too, the fur kids potties and hit the road. Y’all have a great day out there. Weather or not.

Morning all!

Happy belated birthday to all the gals I missed! I’m jealous of you folks with June birthdays, mines August 30th and we were always going back to school then, I think a true summer birthday would have been fun.

Heading to the big recreation facility on campus today, allergies are so bad I can’t walk outside so I’m going to walk their beautiful track a bit.

Good morning! Big surprise here....it’s another rainy day. ;) Glad you’re having a sunny one, Sue. Good day for a day trip.
Yesterday wasn’t so good for me. Early afternoon I got a call that my sister in law had passed away. Knew it was coming but we weren’t expecting it this soon. Our family keeps getting smaller. And daughter in law having surgery today. So I have a feeling this is going to be a crazy week.
I realized when I had the dogs outside awhile ago how fast the grass is growing out back! And I don’t know when it’ll stop raining enough to get it mowed! And the weeds are taking over in the flower beds! As fast as I pull some more seem to take their place! But they’ll just have to wait and I’ll do projects inside. No lack of projects to be done! So speaking of projects I suppose I should get busy! Hoping everyone has a great day.

What do you know, my hotspot decided to finally work! Last night on other side in Eugene in friends neighborhood it absolutely refused! Tonight, turned on both phone and iPad and told it to connect and just like that it did.
Update:
Left Roseville around 10:14 Saturday morning after topping off diesel. Drove north through Chico then Red Bluff, to rejoin I-5 north . Reached Trailer Land RV Park and Mikes welcoming greeting around 4 after a few stops to eat lunch and walk. Nice place, nice people.
Left next morning headed over the mountains into Oregon with stop at the beautiful Rogue River state park and rest area. Had a nice lunch filled with the memories of the lunches Mel and I shared there on several trips. Onward to Eugene! Arrived at home of fellow bus nuts, Byron and Joanne, who we attended several rallies with through the years. Had a lovely evening catching up. Around noon today they led me to his favorite fuel place where I got 21 gallons of diesel at $3.09 a gallon (a relief after $3.90 in Roseville? Those mountains really ate into my fuel economy, I only got 22 mpg! But it should improve this week.
After parting from them,I headed across town and river to AM Solar in Springfield. Next week is the tenth anniversary of my install of 2 AGM batteries and 130 w of solar. Has stood the test of time! Those batteries finally died last summer and were replaced in April with same model and brand, Lifeline, ordered with free shipping from BatterGuys of AZ. Check of my panel shows it’s voltage only down 0.2 v in 10 years! And after system check and discussion with Aaron, who built my control panel, as they did back then , and decision was, yes I could add (space on roof wise plus compatibility with current equipment wise) a 98 w new panel ( made in Bend OR, not China!) which brings system to 228 w with more efficient charging and quicker recovery. Cost about half what I guessed at $900 and they are adding a new 12 v circuit to a extra 12v outlet with 2 USB ports. So I happily signed on dotted line. Am here for night with 2 other rigs, one from TN, one from WI, both of whom drove here because of the 30 years of experience and reputation among RVers.
So, tonight, it’s dinner overlooking the lake, watching trout jump and hearing birds sing and breeze in trees as today’s 80 degrees subsides.
Tomorrow when they are done I’ll head north to pick up my good friend to join me for the Friday through Monday rally.
I’m having fun on this first solar adventure!

I am off a day and just posted on yesterdays MC, so you can read about my day on there... Check out the photo of my new ride!

OK, I will repost that part here...

I decided to go look at golf carts today. Stopped at about 4 places before I found one close to my price limit and had most of the features I was looking for. The guy was nice (and talkative and a little too friendly  ) but he was new there and it took a couple hours to get the purchase finalized. So anyways, I got myself a golf cart that is used but in decent shape, new batteries, built in ice cooler, stereo/cd player, hood with storage underneath, back rear-facing passenger seat that folds up for more storage. It looks like a little car! Not the color I am real fond of but with some cute decals on it, it should look OK for what I need it for. Ended up costing a little more than I wanted to spend but the least expensive one I found with all the things I was looking for. Oh, and it has an adjustable seat which is good for me with my short legs! Most carts I looked at don't have that. Considering they design those carts for men (golfers), the seats are pretty far back. The seats are comfy too. They are delivering it at the end of the week after they get it all detailed and add the fans I asked for (free) on the windshield bars.

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, that's a cute car. I haven't seen any like that around here. Mine is one of the ones with high clearance for off road.

I woke up to a storm this morning. It only rained about an inch and a half. I should have mowed yesterday. I don't know if I will be able to mow on Wednesday and it will really be tall by Monday.

The new battery for the Roomba came today. I was surprised it came so fast. Roomba should be ready to go in the morning.
