No Rain Here

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

No Rain Here

Postby SoCalGalcas » Thu Jun 13, 2019 11:27 am

Just the usual, night and morning low clouds, sunshine rest of day! I got back to my water jogging Tuesday. Skipped Wed and will return to pool today. (When the sun comes out!)
Have to continue working on cleaning the trailer & truck, getting them ready for next trip. Will have a good two months at home to recover before having to leave again. Thank heavens.
Got my gas bill all paid up. Spent a total of $1,783 on gasoline! Yes, traveling is expensive. Had it budgeted into my finances, so all taken care of.
Valerie “cleaned my bedroom while I was gone. I had told her it was OK. She puts everything away, somewhere. I now have to go buy a new kitchen timer for my water jogging as we do not have a clock at the pool!

Good morning. Sounds like you are getting back in the groove Lyn. I have been doctoring a cold the last couple of days but now I am on the mend. Havent had much ambition the last couple of days but more motivated today.

Weather is hot again today but my AC works just fine so I am comfortable. Housecleaning on my agenda today but nothing heavy duty. Just the usual vacuuming, laundry etc

Looking forward to meeting up with RV sistah Toni this weekend as she passes thru on her way to the coast to get some RV repairs done. She is staying a couple of nights very close by so will be a fun visit. I have a camping trip scheduled for July with a new to me group of Camping women so that sounds like fun too. It is for 3 days and only about 50 miles from me. A person can never have too many camping friends.

Morning is gone with very little accomplished.
Glad to see Lyn made it home safely.
Know you will enjoy visit with Toni. I camped near her house earlier this year and really enjoyed her company

Just tried to take a nap because I have to go back into the store 2:30 - after 10:30. I like this shift, but not when I've been doing all days and didn't sleep good enough last night plus went in for a bit twice today already . LOL just complaining don't pay me any attn. Although you can feel sorry for me that tonight is the first play of the season at Black Hills Playhouse and this change last night to working tonight means I can't go! Linda and 3 others will still be going. There are 2 plays this session I really don't want to miss so I'm hoping no one causes me to have to work those nights last minute. We shall see. It's all part of the job.

Off to walk Ty again. He'll be wondering about me tonight, that's for sure.

Karen, every time I see the picture of Emma sleeping I think a nap would be nice.

I had the meeting with the lawyer this morning and things are not done yet. He wants copies of a couple of leases. I had one in the file with me but couldn't find it and I'm still looking for the other one. I need to get better organized. Of course after I left I thought of a couple questions I should have ask.

I stopped by the CPA's office with a letter from the state about a refund for Harold for last years taxes. We didn't have a refund. They better not send a check and turn around and say I owe money and a penalty.

I got my blood work results from the doctor. The letter says my results are adequate which I take to mean it's not over the top good. My Cholesterol is 186, Triglycerides are 66, HDL is 70 and LDL is 103. The Glucose Lvl is 98. Is that my sugar level? He says to watch fats in diet. Guess I have to cut back on my daily stick of butter. lol

Our cool weather didn't last very long. It's already back in the 90's. I need to go wash Hank. His check up is in the morning and he smells a lot like a dog. I guess I need to clean out the back seat of the car and put something on it. I use to put a big kennel in the back but he has too hard of a time getting up that high.

Thanks Karen. I was only worried about my sugar because my Dad had age onset diabetes and my sister is starting to have problems. But she weights 100 pounds more than I do.

Good evening!

I slept in and didn't get to my storage unit today. Still hot at 110* today. I did go out for a bit and got my hair cut shorter. I need to tweak it a bit tho. She really didn't listen to me. But it looks OK. I can fix most of it. It feels good to have it off my neck and ears now. Now I can frost it. :D

Stopped at Hobby Lobby and got a few things to add to my Tiki look in my bedroom. It is looking really cute so far!

It has been really windy all day and is blowing even more this evening! Palm trees are really swaying out there! The wind feels good on a hot day but it also blows a lot of dust around.

Lola is mad at me. She doesn't like her medicine at all. I tried mixing it in with her food but she wouldn't touch it.

Lyn, glad you are back to your routine! I hate when people mess with (aka "clean") my stuff. I can never find anything after that either. I have a hard enough time finding things when I am the one cleaning and putting stuff away!

Oh, and I got a letter from the state today to report for jury duty in July. It is in San Diego. Can I let them know I moved, since it is a long ways for me to go there for however long? They had my other address for San Diego county. I have never been notified for jury duty before so not sure how that works.

stopped at the senior center for lunch today it was a western theme for father's day didn't know that when I stopped by
had a brats chips and baked beans lemon bar and watermelon and music and cowboy poetry
then on to the library got a couple of books now to get them read in 3 weeks.
then stopped at the two nursery's on my way back home...spent more than enough hopefully I got enough plants and if I didn't then I can get some to fill in that won't cost a lot... my granddaughter started working at one in the eatery today didn't know that if I had possibly could have used her 30% off would have helped a lot!!! the one nursery where granddaughter works has a planter that has the most unusual pansy or possibly viola wished they had more then the other nursery had a planter with petunia's a really different color sure wish I could have found that color!!! hard to describe. but I did like it... stopped at the store for two items bread for me and mom ... which I got and other stuff as well... but when grapes are .99 you get them right? wanted to get meat for some fiatas but don't know how to spell it so couldn't look it up to get the right one... I got some peppers the other day just cause they looked good and thought perhaps if I had them on hand I would go for the veggies but still even if I do eat them not going to eat that many so thought that would be a good use... if I could figure out how to spell the name of the dish or remember to go and look at the seasoning packets and see what that says... but I forgot by the time I was in that neck of the store...
came home and took a nap not sure why it's become a almost daily need. couldn't be because I stay up till 3:00 tomorrow have to get up at 6 in order to be ready to go when dd goes to Jackson to work
Barbie I think I would wilt in that heat as well... might work well in your sun room though if the containers are big enough

Barbie, just call them up and explain that you moved. They will not expect you to serve on a jury at someplace you no longer live.

Had a hot drive to Grant's Falls yesterday and a hot drive to get out of town today. And of course, I had more RV trouble--my rear slide would not open last night so I found an RV place that agreed to look at it today. They checked the fuse and it was fine, and then it opened and closed, so I thanked them and left. Gave the mechanic a tip, however, at the suggestion of the service manager since there was no real charge for them checking stuff. Then, by the time I stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things and spent an hour on the phone, I was on my way. But I was so busy I did not eat until 1:30 pm. I really have to stop doing that because with the heat and no food, I really felt lousy. Now in chilly Crescent City, CA and feeling better.

This POA stuff is taking a lot of my time. I am spending at least a couple of hours on the phone and replying to emails. I got my printer out and printed stuff last night. More to print tonight, but postponing it until tomorrow. There are two law firms (Georgia and Florida) involved trying to track down unpaid bills and where assets are located, one bank with multiple accounts, two care-giving companies, one moving company, and an assisted living facility!! Most important thing is to get bank accounts changed, and bank guy is working to find out how we do that long distance. Luckily bank knows my uncle and aunt well and have already decided a couple of months ago that they will NOT let them take out any cash from their accounts because they were so clearly confused last time they came in. Hooray for smart bankers.

Apparently, uncle has a very thick wallet with several credit cards, but he is keeping it very close and not letting anyone touch it. I told law office paralegal, who has a good relationship with him, to ask him if she can borrow his credit cards so she can call and check to see if there are any balances to pay. Then she will copy front and back, and I will cancel them!!!! Any of you who have dealt with dementia patients know you have to lie to protect people.

I think we will both have to fly out to Florida in late June to take care of some things in person. A big problem is that memory care facilities usually assume only one person will be in a room in a single bed so rooms are tiny. We need something with a living space and bedroom and that is much bigger because there are two people involved. We hired extra caregivers around the clock to prevent wandering until we can get a longer-term solution.

Judy, I feel for you for what you are dealing with. At least you have lots of people who are able and willing to help you. We were on our own with my dad. We went to his bank many times to ask them to stop giving him loans that he was just handing the money over to scammers, and they knew that, but they said they couldn't do anything about it and if he wanted the money, they had to give it to him. After he passed, they wanted their loans paid back. We told them to stick it! They knew where the money was going and still gave it to him. They never asked us again for it. They knew they were wrong and we probably could have taken them to court if they would have insisted on us paying them back.

Hopefully, you can get this all resolved soon! It is very stressful for everyone! Maybe you can get them into a different facility that has a locked area for dementia patients.

there will come a time when they will no longer know each other until that time I feel that they need to be together... I used to work in a care center where they had rooms that were for couples that were large they even brought in there own furniture... My cousin lives in a center where she has a separate bedroom and kitchenette/dining room and a small living room and a porch... her kids decided that she shouldn't live on her own they thought she had Alzheimers but what tests they can do to a living person she doesn't... I hadn't seen her for a year at least and she still knows me so if she has dementia it's not bad... I am with her she could be elsewhere probably cheaper than the care center... it does sound like they need a monitor something that makes it known that they have exited the center... and perhaps a gps type thing so if they do get out they can be tracked
just my look on it you need to do what is best for not only the aunt and uncle but the rest of you ... controlling the money is a needed thing
