Sunday with rain in Ohio

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday with rain in Ohio

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun Jun 09, 2019 7:25 am

Good morning from Canton, Ohio. Getting ready to head over to the building where the rings and the grooming area is set up. We don’t show until 12:30 so we slept in a bit and get to move more slowly. The second day of a show is usually more relaxed prep wise, not because I don’t find things that I missed to trim and clean up on Josef’s coat yesterday but I don’t find nearly as much as what I was looking at yesterday. I remind myself that I don’t have the extreme grooming of the poodle people but yes I have fantasies of grooming requirements of French Bulldogs and Whippets. ....then I remember the English Cocker faces that I fell in love with years ago....

Hope everyone gets through this day in one piece and you have some moments to create joy. As, I believe it was Peggy reminded us, be kind. (And may you find some laughter....)

It is a very muggy morning here in So Illinois but it isn't raining...yet. The forecast for the week looks wonderful though, 70's during the day and 50's at night and no rain!!! My kind of weather. I'll be thinking of you today Tina, good luck in the ring. I don't think I could keep a Poodle in show coat for confirmation!! It takes me from 30-45 minutes a day to keep Emma combed out even though there are no restrictions on coat in obedience, I just like her puffs. Some days though I wish I had fallen in love with the Mexican Hairless breed!!! My nephew and his wife have been sending us pictures of their trip west. Their photos of the Sego Canyon petroglyphs and the area west of the Green River in Utah have been spectacular.

Envious of anyone getting ready to roam! I’m having a petulant morning... I don’t wanna go back to work!! But oh well, you plays you pays.

Gray day here, but hopefully not rainy. The local farmers FINALLY got most of the crops in the ground, over a month late this year from all the rain.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Lazy day here. I've put out a couple fires and answered a couple texts re the store... From the comfort of my bed. I'll head down shortly just because. But mainly I'm hoping to be a bum today. That said, Ty needs a walk so I should think about getting dressed.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Good morning, enjoying the beautiful morning here in Eugene Oregon. Sunny and just the right temp. I have chores to do this morning as this is the first trip out this year (tried once before but ended up with a tow and engine repairs) and my Motorhome needs a good inside cleaning.
My last day of camping here. Had a great few days with Laura. Today will be cleaning the RV inside, washing the cabinets and walls down. Then will clean the windows, inside and out. Need to rearrange a couple of drawers and an outside bay. Needs a good vacuuming then should be clean and ready to go again.

Alice hoping you have a great trip and find cooler weather. Judy will be coming to this park on Monday afternoon but alas I am leaving Monday morning so we shall miss each other.

Breakfast time, I have work to do and need sustenance.

I went to one of the meetup meals at Cracker Barrel yesterday morning. I'm not sure that the lady that set this up knew that Saturday morning at Cracker Barrel is very busy. It took an hour to get a table. For me to get to Lafayette at 9:00 takes some doing. There were only 5 of us which was good. It's easier to carry on a conversation with everyone in a small group. I'm not sure Cracker Barrel wants to set up a table for a big group. I managed to get out without buying anything but my meal.

Stopped at Macy's to look at bathing suits. I didn't like anything they have especially the prices. Even on sale they are almost $100. Macy's looks like it's on the way out. They have moved everything to the first floor and closed the 2nd floor.

I stopped by Petsmart because they were having an adoption day. I'm not looking for a pet, just being nosy. One of the groups only had pit bulls or pit bull crosses. I have seen some of the dogs at least 3 times. I know they have other dogs on their Facebook page. I'm sure pit bull's are great dogs but know one would limit what I could do. The people that have them won't get them fixed so the local shelters are full of them.

I think I'll try to mow but wait until later. I put some chicken in the slow cooker with BBQ sauce. The chicken was frozen so it will probably be dinner instead of lunch.

Lots of you up and posting already this morning!

I am at the clubhouse on my laptop. Much easier than trying to use my phone for this!

Ava, I hope you have a safe journey!

I went to IHOP yesterday at 11:30 am for breakfast and the line was out the door waiting to be seated. Found another smaller restaurant down the street and that was packed too but decided to wait it out. Didn't take as long as I thought but the food wasn't too great. Live and learn...

I ordered a 3 person swing for my patio and accidently ordered 2 and got both delivered yesterday. So I need to bring one box back to FedEx today to return. I can't wait to get the other one put together! Will be a great place to take naps when it cools off a bit.

Otherwise, today will be more purging, packing up and putting my stuff in it's place. Also do a load of laundry. My washer and dryer are pretty small so I need to do small loads more often.

Tomorrow will be very busy! Have the AC repair guy coming out to check over my unit (still working so far today). Also Spectrum tech guy coming out to get my internet going. I got on the phone yesterday with them and they were able to help me get my TV set up and working but couldn't get the internet to work. Then need to call a vet for Lola, call someone to pick up my furniture, talk to someone here at the office to see why my mailbox key isn't working, drop off boxes at the thrift store, and pick up more stuff from my storage units. Whew! I am tired already!!

Will be pushing 110* all week so will be spending a lot of my time inside.

Have a good day and be safe!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Got a call, Mandy cat is going to be discharged at 5 tonight! It will be good to have her home! And I bet she will be glad to leave that place and the confinement of a small room.
I have most stuff in the van which is always stay there stuff except my Moms Corelle of which I'm taking two place settings because I can. I'm tired of melamine and the every time I look at it reminder that Chinese melamine in cat food killed our beautiful Kallie! Anyhow going to be very hot next 2-3 dys, possibly 104! So I'm waiting until Wednesday to turn fridge on in the van and Saturday morning will put cold from fridge and frozen food in just before I leave. Going out there today to hang hooks in bathroom and closet. What a difference with one traveling vs two.....
Karen, I enjoyed your thoughts on your class A which has me thinking that direction vs new once the bus is gone.
So mostly this week will tie up loose ends here and start loading clothes, which won't be a lot.
Ava I hope you get out Wednesday as you plan. Hope the dog show goes well. Barbara don't "cook yourself" in that heat! Stay safe everyone.

It is officially 110* right now. :o

My TV isn't working again. Good thing the tech guy is coming tomorrow. He can fix that too!

I got the swing returned to FedEx and stopped for a date shake. They grow date palms out here and one of the farms sells shakes that are really good. You can also watch a video called "The sex life of a date".

I posted the queen bed on CL this afternoon and got a response right away. Two Mexican ladies showed up with a big truck and I helped them load up the bed. Neither of them spoke a word of English and of course I don't speak Spanish but we got it done. Then I had to unpack my new full bed frame, get that set up and unpack the new mattress which was vacuum sealed and shrink wrapped. Got that on and expanded. Then cut down the 4 inch thick memory foam pad she had on her bed, to fit mine. After all that I am exhausted! Am laying on it now and it is wonderful! Gives me a little more room in here too.

Need some dinner and then start on more projects.
