Pat, I probably shouldn't talk about running over people. If anything ever happens to her I might be in trouble. lol You don't know what all she put us through. I don't know what she did to my grandson but he was afraid of her. When my son left she forged his name to the title of his car and sold it. Then she disappeared and we didn't know where she was. Turns out her family had put her in a rehab place. They had been living in a trailer that belonged to my younger son. I told my son to get all her stuff out of there but kids never listen. She is a lawyer so when she got out of rehab she got a judge to let her stay in the trailer for 6 weeks. She took everything out of the trailer even the bathroom mirrors and shower heads. Good thing she probably had a history with the local police. She called them and said my son stole her dog. Then she reported that he molested her daughters. That could have ruined his life but the police never even talked to him. She ended up losing both of her daughters. One is living with her dad and grandparents and her sister has custody of the younger one. My son went to college with her knew her for years. He married her so she and her kids could get on his insurance. He was just too good.

Yikes. Doctors can save us and they can make our lives more difficult and even kill us. And they wonder why we don't have the respect for them we did in the past. Last year was my first full year on Medicare and I didn't even get my annual exam because I really dislike my doctor. I think I'll see about finding one in Arizona this winter. But I've not yet had one go off on me like you described, BJ. No human should be treated like that. So sorry you endured that.

I don't know what is going on with doctors, but I'm beginning to think it is just all about the $$.

I got a letter from the Radiology department affiliated with my doctor. It said that I needed to phone for an appointment. I had NO idea why I needed any kind of x-ray (Radiology does x-rays), so I ignored the letter. A few weeks later, the same letter came again, so I phoned them and was told I needed an $$MRI$$ ($3,000+/-). Still clueless, I asked why I needed an MRI - they said they didn't know, I would need to contact my doctor.

So, of course, I tried to phone my doctor. Of course, doctors don't inter-act with us mere mortals anymore, and I guess everyone has forgotten how to pick up a telephone. After several days I received an email telling me I needed to come in for this alleged MRI. I was told that I needed an MRI of my back, before pain medication could be prescribed.

Since I have no more than the usual old-fart arthritic pain, and had not requested any pain medication (and don't want any - over-the-counter does just fine - and I'm just not that in to heavy-duty drugs), I again asked who decided I needed pain medication, and who decided I need a MRI? These two issues had not been discussed - at all - during my most recent doctor visits.

The circular-reasoning, non-answer? "It's because of your arthritis." That's the only explanation I could get out of anyone. I declined the MRI, and thus also declined the elusive "pain medication".

Personally, I think that the reason they wanted to do a MRI was because "I have good insurance" and I am also "a likely candidate to make a large co-pay".

So I am guessing that I am now marked "non-compliant" on my chart. To date, no one, not my doctor, his assistant, or anyone, has every bothered to try to speak to me on the phone. My doctor had never once, verbally mentioned to me that I might need an MRI.

Guess I have been pretty lucky with doctors. I did have an ophthalmologist in Napa that was periodically checking a small spot on my retina. It did not change over a year, so no treatment, but when I renewed my driver's license by mail, she put on the form that I had macular degeneration in spite of her never telling me that!!! Also charged me $50 for filling out the form. That made the State of Ohio give me a medically restricted license that requires me to get an eye test every year and fill out a special form or they will revoke my license!!! It also means I have to carry a special card with me that describes my "medical issues," which is a pain. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back to her!!

So, I sent the form to the Eugene eye doctor who is doing my cataract surgery in July. But I have to go in tomorrow to sign the form, and then they will fill it out and send it to Ohio. The ophthalmologist here I found at LensCrafters here said that on a scale of 1-10, I have about 1.5 macular degeneration, which is about where everyone my age is!! I think she just wanted me to keep coming in for more tests every 3 months.

And would you believe I found this really super general ophthalmologist here in Eugene at the LensCrafters store in the local mall. I went in to get new lenses for my glasses last December, but had taken all my old tests results and photos from the Napa lady, and he spent a lot of time explaining my "macular degeneration". He said I really needed cataract surgery instead of new lenses and referred me to my current cataract doctor, which I was hesitant about, but my oncologist referred me to the same specialist, so that is who is doing my surgery. And when I talked to this double-referred cataract doctor, he said the doctor at LensCrafters was a terrific doctor and partly retired!!

No kidney stone symptoms so I am hoping it has passed. Will need an x-ray before I leave town, just to be sure.

Well the sun came out amidst clouds and wasnt cold out so decided to dig my 6 more holes to plant my plants. Right in the middle it started to rain, so I took a break for 1/2 hour and it went away. Sun peeked back out and I finished planting and spreading my mulch. Whew glad that is finished.

Trying to decide what to have for dinner....funny how I have a freezer full of stuff but "nothing" to eat LOL I just might go get a couple of chicken tacos at Del Taco. I really like their tacos. OR I might just stay home and make a spicy chicken rice bowl..............yup that is sounding good. Just have to defrost the chicken.

Since my back is now killing me guess a little Motrin/Tylenol cocktail is in order. And my recliner for sure. The dog is pooped, she spends alot of time following me everywhere outside and didnt get her naps in today.

did the normal Sunday things went to church then tried to pin down what time they wanted supper wasn't getting any results so finely said with all that was going on perhaps I ought to make it tomorrow night was told that would be good... one of my daughter's was involved in a thing at work a obstetrical course around Jackson and some were going over to root her on. And we had to be at seminary graduation at 6 so I took my nap woke up and looked at phone lets make it tonight need to have it ready by 5 though if I had read that before the nap would have not slept as long but it did get done.... the youth in our church attend Seminary during high school... in some areas it's released time during high school other places it's before school just depending upon the amount of kids attending... found this recipe for chicken and rice that is creamy and cheesy and really good I haven't read the nutrients don't think I want to ... but it is good...
BJ that is terrible can't imagine a dr going off on a person like that, I don't know if it's a new thing or they did treat the old people that way and nothing was said as you just didn't and those that would know are mostly gone
the baby has jauntise spell check didn't fix it haha ... she has had this light that they put under her clothes and she glows but her bilirubin is higher today than yesterday so she has to go to the dr tomorrow. hope they can figure out the best treatment for her. need to attempt to do something tomorrow...
Barbie a exterminator might be the way to go... hope you can get rid of the critters and not take them with you
