cloudy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

cloudy Sunday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sun Mar 24, 2019 10:25 am

If I would have started this 15 minutes ago, I would have said "sunny Sunday" but the clouds just moved in. I need to get outside and do some more work on the yard before the sun comes back out. Then off to work by 2pm.

Got a lot of the weeds done yesterday, just need to do a little more on the back and front of the house, and then clean out the garden areas and put down mulch. Got quite a bit of painting done too. My handyman replaced the top step to the porch since it was all rotten, so I got that painted. Did some patch up painting inside and out. The wall above/behind the fridge I never got to before since it is hard to get up there so it was still the orange/green/yellow plaid wallpaper back there. I managed to contort myself on a ladder, enough to get it painted white. Made some repairs to my bedroom door where the previous owners dog had damaged it from scratching, so I got that painted too.

Feeling hints of my cold coming back so am taking my ZiCam again. My roommate is getting over hers. Her grandkids are all sick with the same crud.

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

As soon as I get Ty walked we'll be on the road today. I'm heading to Bottomless Lakes State Park. I'm checking out two or three new-to-me NM state parks after that. I love that at least I can partially drive different areas and see new things on these trips back to SD.

Barbie, with all you've done to your place, it should sell quickly. Wouldn't it be great if you could get asking price or even more! And quickly. I'm excited about your new place.

Well it was cloudy here but now the sun has come out so that alone makes me more motivated. I was a total sloth yesterday. Did not get much done and I need to get my act together as I am leaving on Wednesday. Will take Emma to the groomer on Tuesday, finish the laundry, go grocery shopping altho I can really do that when I get up to Albany. I have the basics here so yup might rethink that idea.
Need to program my TPMS and put the sensors back on. Bought 4 for my toad so need to get that done. Then just get some clothes together and so guess it isnt really that much to do. I did take everything out of the Motorhome for this winters storage so need to put some canned goods back in, coffee, and some drinks.
Beth you better wear your tinfoil hat in Roswell ha ha Hoping for a quick sale Barbie so you can move........again LOL

Okay time for a shower then I need to get busy. Oh yeah my Income tax is still looming over my head too. Oh well, can do it when I come home if I dont get it done before then.

Hi ladies~~~
Beth, let me know how you like Bottomless Lakes SP. I had reservations in the fall but canceled because it was cold so I just headed south. I still need to go back, hopefully while my yearly pass is still good, and get to the parks up north.

Trailer repair has been approved by insurance and parts are ordered, which will hopefully be in this week, and repair to be completed by the next week.

Ma is out of the hospital and back to her old cranky self, so maybe I can get back on the road before Chicagoland summer heat & himidity come.

Have a good day ladies & stay safe wherever you are.

Way past noon in these parts here, but chiming in anyway. Was partly cloudy here but now clouds have rolled in. Spring is definitely moving in too. Temps are in the low to mid 40’s, feeling much warmer in the sun. Snow is melting slow but sure. Will be here for awhile yet but that’s normal. My road is now pretty much all clear now.

Haven’t been doing anything earth shaking here. Just checking on things I want for my trailer, new WD system, couple more cupboard doors so I can knock out the panels between the others and have row of doors over the sofa instead of having to reach behind those knockout panels they stick up there. got out the original bill from my new tires out, so I can get a new spare ordered, researching batteries, pros/cons of different types etc. O’Sharon, to answer your question from the other day, I’m sticking with Interstate’s. They are a top rated battery among trailer owners. My last one was an Interstate. But I wanted to check and see what’s out there too.

Just got back from walking the fur kids and put a pot roast in the oven. Took a drive to a General store about 60 miles from here as they have meat sales going on. They butcher and process local raised beef, pork etc. I like their pork chops. Found an English roast too and haven’t had an English cut of roast in a long time as stores don’t seem to carry it. It’s a different cut of chuck roast actually. Put it in an oven bag with Lipton Onion soup mix. Smelling mighty good in here :D dinner will be between 4:30-5:00 if you want to join me. I put 10 pounds of inch thick pork chops in freezer as well as 2 pounds of shrimp. Ready for camping and BBQ season.

Guess I will go fix a salad and get this posted. Lyn are you ready to hit the road? Hope the flooding in the Midwest doesn’t interfere with your plans.

I have also been a sloth for the last couple of days. Did a little grading of papers, but have two things I really need to get busy on--tweaking my new class so I can open it tomorrow and grading final exams. The finals are short but require comments and checking off some boxes online to determine a grade. In other words, there will be a category such as "clear and concise" and I will click on "meets all requirements", "meets most requirements", "meets no requirements", and the system computes a grade out of a dozen of these. It sounds handy, but I would really just assign a score myself.

I am leaving Willow Beach tomorrow morning and racing over to Boulder Beach which is a no-hookup federal site--meaning it fills fast. (I want to stay there Monday night so I can head to the airport and fly to Eugene for two nights to get a medication refill, and get a checkup and an infusion of another drug.) As soon as I find a spot at Boulder, I have to head to the repair place because my AC fan motor and blade unit has arrived, and I really need AC! They will install it in the afternoon and also check my roof satellite dish, which is likely the cause of the banging I have had for almost a year. They are going to take it apart and see what is loose. I have had several other people check my roof for loose things and found nothing, so I hope it is the dish mechanism under the round dome cover. I am tired of the noise on my roof--sounds like my RV is falling apart and really bothers me.

I got my suitcase out and did some packing, so not much to do tomorrow before my flight to Eugene. I'll leave my rig in the huge oversized vehicle lot across from the rental car building. It is secure and has monitoring cameras, and costs only $15 per night. I've left it there before and had no problems. I'll pick up a rental car in Portland and drive to a hotel in Eugene where I will stay for two nights at a reduced rate for patients.

This is at least my third time here. I did stay in the fall on my way north. I particularly love the dry camping area a couple miles from the water/electric sites and beach. Because I still have work to do on the websites I'm dry camping near the hookup sites tonight as they have wifi over here.

I got nothing done this morning. After starting MC, I rolled over and went back to sleep! Yesterday was a long busy day so I figured I deserved to take a little break today. Once I got to work, no more breaks! It was crazy busy all day! My cold is coming back a bit so didn't have a lot of energy so was getting tired quickly from all the haircuts. Taking it easy tonight.

I am hoping to get my house on the market on April 1st which is next Monday. Still have a lot to do around here but I think I can get it all done by then. Mostly just outside stuff yet. I have two window screens that need to get fixed so will bring those in to a local shop and see if they are fixable or need to be replaced. The screening is fine (I put new screening in last year) but they keep falling out of the window for some reason. Also need to get the roof leak checked out before then. Hoping to get someone out this week to do an inspection and estimate on fixing it so I at least will have that available for any potential buyers to see. Most roofing companies have about a 2 month waiting list for roof repairs due to all the rain we have had.

Need to get to bed early tonight since I can't afford to sleep in too long tomorrow. More weeds to pull before the sun gets hot.
