Morning Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning Wednesday

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:23 am

Another day another opportunity for fun here in Orlando. Wonderful surprise yesterday as both Paulette and Soos found their way to Olive Garden in time for dinner last night. Cindy got to meet two excellent representative of this other life that I am always referring too....as when I keep mentioning stories places, experiences and friendships from “the women RV group I am a part of...”.

We don’t show until afternoon today so we are taking the morning at leisure.

Make it a fabulous day out there!

Morning all!

Tina, that sounds so fun, I’d love to meet a few gals from here.

Today is pool day, I really need a good long swim to loosen up my back and shoulders. Still waiting on the paperwork for the apartment, hoping they get it done this week.

Good Morning, So glad you were able to meet up with Paulette and Soos and introduce Cindy to your other life. Good luck this afternoon! Queens hope you get the paperwork and are able to start making plans for your trip.

Barbie have you tried Irish Spring soap for the mice? I can't stand the smell so DH puts it outside the garage where they used to come in. It is supposed to deter deer and mice. I don't think it does much for the deer but it does seem to work on mice. Cut it in pieces and scatter them around where you think they may be coming in. We also have one of those electronic things plugged in that deter them with sound. The neighbor has two cats one which patrols our yard for chipmunks and mice so that has also really helped although they send the dogs into barking fits, They like to sit outside the big windows and look in at them.

Today I am thankful today for massage therapist who 'fixed' my back. Beautiful day yesterday but clouding up today for a couple of days of rain. Enjoy the day.

It's still in the 30's here near Deming. Brrrr. But will be in the 60's later. I told Ty we'll go for a walk when it gets to 40. That was supposed to be by 9... They lied lol

Peggy and I are meeting Sharon for lunch in Deming. So I'll pay for another night here before heading back to state parks.I might go back down to the border town for a couple days/nights. I like that area. This time I'll be prepared for possibly no phone.

Good morning, home a short break and back early today for an early release day. I'm still struggeling with blood pressure, although its coming down its still not in acceptable range, not by a long shot. I'm very frustrated with this latest development as I've never had to deal with this nonsense before. I know this is all stress from the moving issue. Neighbor and I cruised a few parks the other evening and found a couple possibilities. We are planning on paying them a visit tomorrow to get necessary info. We both want to stay near work so travel time is not bad. I'm really liking how my bank account is looking since I'm back to work and hopefully go jeep shopping in a couple months. Then of course that means continue working to make payments.
That's about all I got today, will get my snack and get back to work.

Ava. . . just a possible suggestion. . . definitely not my business. . . but I have been a regular "walker" for the past thirty years or so. When I first began, I did it to just get the h--- out of the house in the evening, to walk my dog and (truth be told) to take a break from my (then) small children and grumpy (now-ex) husband. Didn't enjoy it much at first, in fact almost hated it (my dog, however, was overjoyed!!). Seeing the fireflies in Ohio, where I first started my walking routine, was a definite bonus.

As time went on (LOL! A LOT of time) it began to be a habit, and by the time evening walking time rolls around these days (I mostly walk after dark, with a flashlight and a reflective vest, winter and summer), my legs are now itching to go. I don't go anyplace special to do my walks - just out the door and down the street.

I do know that the causes for hypertension can be many, and varied, and some cases have no known cause at all.

But I eat a bit of salt (probably too much), carbs, and other bad things - and my BP has remained fairly stable at around 120/70 for many years. When I was immobile last summer for six weeks with my leg infection, (and thus unable to take long-ish walks) I saw a definite increase in my BP. Which came down again, once I again was able to walk.

Hope you can get surmount this obstacle soon.

Best wishes,

Anne

Good morning gals!

Tina, so glad you were able to meet up with Soos and Paulette last night! Good luck today!

BJ. I will pick up some Irish Spring soap too. I have those electronic things plugged in all over my house but obviously they are not working very well. My cats are also not working very well!

Ava, have you thought about doing meditation? Walking is a good option now but probably not in the summertime. Is there a shopping mall near you where you could walk (without stopping to shop of course!) and get some exercise? Hope you figure out a way to bring down the blood pressure soon!

Have a few things I need to take care of early today and then off to work later this afternoon.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon. Beautiful day here with lots of sun and no wind. I have been working outside trying to corral all the leaves in my yard (I dont even own a friggin' tree). So then I got out my pruners and pruned the neighbors apple tree that hangs over my fence, it looks a little lopsided but damn I dont want all those apples and leaves next year. Neighbor across the street has a BIG maple tree and when the wind blows they pile up in my carport and patio...sheesh. Had to wash my patio as I tracked little muddy footprints all over it while blowing and pruning.

Kind of funny when working out in the yard had many visitors stop by to chat LOL One fellow has a dog and he comes in and his dog and Emma just run all over and play. Good dog too so I like him to visit. Then another gal stopped by with her dachsund and Emma was off and running again, now she is crapped out.

Bought some scallops the other day (spendy little buggers) as I haven't had any for a long time so going to make bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp for dinner. They are thawing in the fridge so should be ready for dinner.

Think I am done for the day except for a walk for Emma later. Will pick up my mail on the way back. Paid my money $10 for the Christmas dinner our owners put on every year. It is a $22 catered dinner and we pay $10 and they pick up the rest. This is my first time going so I am sure it will be fun.

Time for a shower now and put my feet up.

Ava if you just started BP medicine it will take awhile for it to bring pressure down the way I understand it. They start with a low dose as they don't want it to drop all of a sudden. Those meditation links I posted would help too just 15 minutes a day will bring your numbers down and will also calm you down. :). The cardiologist I saw suggested doing deep breathing for 15 minutes but the meditation tapes also work well for me. Hope you are better soon and find a place to move that will be just perfect.
