Velda, I have been gone and am just now catching up to posts here. I was deeply saddened to hear of Mel’s passing, but am glad he had you and your son by his side and he passed peacefully. Please know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. Having gone through this with my mother, I know how long and difficult the journey was, but at the same time, there is feeling of relief that it was over. Take care of yourself in the coming days, cherish the memories, take comfort in the support of family and friends and know that Mel isn’t in pain any more. As others have said, we are here for you, whenever you need us.
