Cooling Down Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cooling Down Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:46 am

Morning everyone. Hot weather is outta here, not that we really had any, other than the 91 degree day yesterday. Cloud cover kept us in the 70’s instead up till yesterday, and now the cold front is coming through :D

Was supposed to have left for a couple days of camping  today, but with a rainy day and my getting a bit of a cold, decided to change reservations to next week instead. Sneezing and scratchy throat does not make for fun and with a Bridal shower this coming Saturday to attend, want to get rid of it. So am staying home, relaxing and just puttering around. Will just have 2 back to back trips with 3 days between, plus a Bridal shower and a wedding thrown in the mix. Double fun that way

Judy, no fun on your end, that’s for sure. Hope it all turns out to be not too bad and you can get to Yellowstone with time to spare. You gals hitting the rad or going on trips, have a great time.

Anybody hungry? I have bacon and eggs here or Protein shakes. Will have to fix your own as I already ate  So am going to get my day started and see what I wind up doing. Not much probably. Have a god one.

Good morning
We didnt get much action from our storm but maybe the next one.
My little foster Abby goes to the vet today. It still amazes me how small these
chihuahua's can be. She certainly doesnt weigh more than 7 or 8 lbs. I dont believe
she is as old as they say. Her teeth are just too good to be 10 or 11. Maybe she had
a good dental plan, lol
Got most of my laundry done yesterday, ran out of quarters so will do bedding today after
I go buy some rolls of quarters.
Have a trip planned out to storage to check on the fifthwheel and transfer some stuff from here to there.
Not much else going on, doen't need ig, have enough to do ! Lol

Gmorning Sue, Alice & all to follow :)

Sue, you had a bday I missed! Hope it was great one, & sorry to hear about the cold symptoms causing you to reschedule your trip...Alice, a "foster?" I didn't catch that, thought she was yours for keeps?

BJ, BJ, BJ! Per your request, I'm sending cooler weather your way hahaha But now I'm wondering why someone out your way decided to send your weather here ;) Well, it's only for a 24-36 hrs, but we have our first heat advisory today, which would be more aptly named a "humidity" advisory, & it's definitely not going to be as bad as it has been in IL. My IL sis & I were recalling how you mid-westerners suffered last summer, no rain & much heat, while we were so cool & rainy. Will see what the weather patterns bring this year, but really not much we can do about it, huh?

Beth, glad you were able to find a signal to keep us updated on your trip--despite rain, sounds like you saw much of what you wanted. Peaches there with you in your heart....

As for me, keeping cool inside today. Hope y'all have a great day wherever you are 8-)

Had a lousy night's sleep in the Lowes parking lot and am waiting for the call to tell me where they were towing me ti get a new vehicle battery. Lowes had given permission to have me stay here and told me to have it dropped in the far end of the lot near the big sign. No cars in this area, but this must be an employee parking lot because at 4:30 am a bunch of employees parked here--close. No one next to me in front, but two are next to me in the rear. I parked in two spots that are end to end. My guess is that I will need to go in the store and get someone to move them so the wrecker can come get me out. Wish me luck today because it is also my birthday!

Carolb, shes a foster but if i choose to keep her, i can. The paperwork i signed is for fostering, adoption paperwork would come later if i choose. As a foster, the rescue pays for everything. I dont mind doing the fostering, although i wont let them load me up with more than one.I'm not opposed to poddy pads but only so many places in here to put one lol. If i was in my fifthwheel, it would not be an issue. The hard part is getting attached, for her as well! Today she gave me a tail wag and has started to do that follow me to the bathroom routine, lol.

Thank you Carol, It wasn't me! but I appreciate you sending your cool breezes this way. I will return them a a much later date!! Judy I hope they get you on the road soon without to long of a delay. I hope you don't drive all night to meet your son. Sounds to me like Abby might have a new home. I'll take some bacon and eggs Sue and a shake. I lost three pounds I didn't have to spare when I had the super bug a few weeks ago. Still have a way to go to make up for what I lost over the last year. I've watched my weight so carefully over my lifetime that eating isn't easy. My Mother and next door neighbor were very obese and were always on a diet but neither of them ever lost any weight. So at a young age I decided if you eat too much you will never get rid of the extra weight. It is hard to reboot my brain at this age now that I really need to gain.
Wishing we all have perfect weather and a happy day.

Judy, hope you can get your battery and back on the road. When I picked up my motorhome last week it was raining and when I got home I left the lights on for about 20 minutes and it ran the battery down. That didn't seem like it should have killed the battery that soon. I used the charger/starter and got it started and so far it is holding a charge. It just worried me coming out of the shop and having that happen. I'm sure the battery is not in the greatest shape because I don't run it enough. I thought I got a new battery last year but my sister says 2 years ago. I'm sure I have it written down.

That bad weather in the gulf hit yesterday. I went to Lafayette to a play with my son and on the way home the wind was really bad. During the night I could hear the wind blowing things around on the porch. I haven't made it out to the rain gauge to see how much rain we got. I have to bring the dog to the vet at 1:00 and I'm sure it will be flooding then.

I found someone that has a Coach House motorhome for sale with the floor plan I want. Only problem is it's a 2010 with 44,000 miles. The milage doesn't bother me but I usually keep one a long time and it's already 8 years old.

Martha I dno't know about Coach House but the older Pleasure Ways were built much better than the newer ones. From my experience and from the comments I've read on the two groups I follow on Facebook, the newer ones have way too many problems. I don't know what year it started in PW but my 2010 compared to the 2003 I sold, the 2010 is not as well made. Maybe there is a Coach House group on FB you could join.

Good Morning, nothing much new going on around here. Beautiful weather continues. We have had NO rain for a long, long time.

Judyjb, your problem,s are sad happenings since your return from the UK. So sorry.

Carol, good to see you posting again!!! Yes!!!

Catherine, saw the picture of you and grand daughter on FB. Beautiful picture!!!

BJ, I read inexpensive books from Amazon when I run out of library books. Most of them are pretty simple reads. Nothing I would post about.. IF I do read a good one, I will let you know.

Liz, your trip sounds exquisite. If I had the cash I would buy your for sale house in a heart beat. I like Florida.

Judy, not a good way to start your birthday! I know how frustrating those problems can be! Hope things improve for you today and you can get on your way to meet your family.

Starting on my list of things to do today. Beautiful sunny day today.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
