Waffles

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Waffles

Postby RitaMc » Sat Jun 09, 2018 7:33 am

Good morning. This is my first attempt at having the group for breakfast so decided we should have a waffle morning. Batter is mixed and syrups and jams are out. Coffee, milk and juice too. I'm going to be in the garden weeding the pumpkins and melons so please help your self.
Breeze developed a loud barking cough followed by gagging so have been playing nurse to her. She hasn't been off the farm in 3 months, has no temperature or runny nose so kennel cough has been ruled out. She has spring time allergies and got into the compost heap last week and must have inhaled an irritant (leaf mold or dusty dry manure?) and has a bronchial irritation. At age 16 I suppose her immune system has lessened. Vet has given her hydrocodone which seems to help but I have been up with her everynight at 3 am while she has a barking spell. Inbetween the cough syrup I dose her with a tablespoon of honey. The cough seems to be less harsh and less frequent but still there. It is better when she is up moving around but trying to get a 16 year old couch potato moving isn't easy.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Rita and all who follow. Waffles sound great! I love waffles.i miss the old posts on here, when we used to start out breakfast with a menu of things. Course some mornings we don’t do much, like it was just a Protein shake for me today.

Soos, it’s wonderful seeing you back on here again. Used to love seeing your Morning posts as you used to start the Coffee every morning just about. Loved your picture too.

Martha, you mentioned needing a new do watered. What brand is it. I’ e Been thinking of getting one for my two. Anybody else use automatic watering devices or those kind that filter and move the water around?

Heading to a Hazardous Recycling drop off this morning. The once a year where we can dispose of that stuff and keep it out of the landfill. Got some stuff here to get rid of. Then will finish my trailer project and get ready to give it a good cleaning etc. Have my IPad back so can transfer pictures to my computer and post some for you. Don’t know how to do that on the Pad without losing my post here before it’s finished.

Off to get cleaned up and gather my stuff. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning. Waffles do sound good and this way there’s no calories either! Looks like we may have another dry day. I’ve been taking advantage of it and trying to catch up on some chores in the yard. Of course that means nothing gets done in the house! I was vacuuming the kitchen last night about 11 trying to get all the black dog fur cleaned up! Just couldn’t handle it anymore! It won’t last long but that’s the way of it!

Beth, was so sorry to hear about Peaches. You were such a good mom to her. Velda, sending good wishes your way for you and Mel. Barbie, did you get your thunder boomer yet?

My plans today, such as they are, got changed last night when my friend called and said they’d like to come up and fix the slide out shelves in the RV. Far be it from me to discourage that! I’ll probably go outside and load the weeds I pulled last night in the car. After I bag them anyway. And then a trip to the dump to get rid of them. Then I really need to vacuum the inside of the car. A chore I’ve been putting off for weeks now. Supposed to rain tomorrow and then a couple of nice days so I can finish cleaning up the flower bed out front. I got one side done but it got to hot to finish the other one. That’s a morning job when it’s shady and anyone who knows me knows I’m not worth much in the morning! I finally made an appointment to get Rascal groomed, his summer cut. Poor guy is really furry and if his panting is any indication, he has to be hot! Anyway, that’s my life right now! At some point I may be able to get out in the RV and do something fun! My friends are doing their shakedown trip in a couple of weeks but not sure if I’ll join them. The park they are going to is close but not one I particularly like. So we’ll see. Meanwhile I’ll enjoy everyone else’s adventures! Have a great week end and travel safe.

My friend and I were gonna head out to visit the art show on the lake this morning, but a big red line of storms just popped up on the radar just south and west of us moving this way, so I decided to head back to bed for awhile. Looks like it could be storming off and on all day. Nothing else planned for the day tho so I don't mind relaxing.

Non caloric waffles! Sounds great! I'll take a couple.

Night before last I didn't sleep well in my bed so deliberately picked the sofa for last night. If I'm not going to sleep well, I'll stick to my bed LOL. That said, I used one of my throw blankets on the sofa and I'm covered in Peaches fur this morning. And I don't mind this a bit.

I'm not sure what I'm doing today. Maybe I'll finally get the scooter out for a short ride. Or not.

Good morning,,,, I love waffles. Back when i used to make them all the time, i would freeze a bunch as they made great toaster breakfast and even great for sandwiches.
Another hot day in store for me, so surprise, after all it is summer in the desert. Was up early to sit out and enjoy my coffee. Decided i would open the awning bug i needed to
re-adust my parking position a foot closer to the patio. By the time i disconnected, levelers up, moved, levelers down and reconnected, it was too hot to climb on the roof to undo the safety straps. I was going to give it a good washing but at least the moving over part is all done so tomorrow morning is
on the schedule for that chore. Pulled out my camp chair and discovered the gravity lounger is all rotted so its setting out by the trashcan. Another chair is on my list.
Now that its hot outside, i get more done inside, whoopee lol.
Ya'll havd a good day, be safe.

Good morning Everybody, I love waffles, so I'll be right over. One of my favorite is pumpkin pecan, so keep those pumpkins well watered. I also freeze waffles and I just bought a Breville toaster with my fifty dollar gift certificate I rec'd for doing my wellness exam. It's the first good toaster I've ever had. My new insurance plan is too helpful; it makes me suspicious of their intent.....Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning. It is raining here and feels so good this morning. It isnt cold out but we are getting a pretty steady rain which is good, we need it. I have NOTHING planned for today as I have been on the go all week. Will do some laundry and a few housekeeping chores but that is it.

I love warm waffles with ice cream inside..................great decadent afternoon treat LOL

Tomorrow I am going over to the Motorhome and start the genny for a while. Need to get a few more things organized in there as I have a tub of clean towels and sheets to go back inside plus some other things. Nice to get them put away, less to do in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to our Bandon at the coast trip. Will be fun to see my fellow women RV'ers again. Oh yes and eat some great seafood.

I can't remember the last time I had a waffle. A no calorie one sounds good. Harold liked to go to I-Hop until they got so ucky you would stick to the table. Sometimes I will mix enough batter for one pancake so I won't be tempted to eat more.

Sue, Hank is in a big outdoor kennel so his waterer is the same one they use for horses in a stall. I haven't tried to remove the old one yet. The kennel is up against the house and I can feel the bolts but can't see them. I will probably have to wait until my son comes so we can move the kennel.

I need to get the vacuum out or at least run the Roomba. There are black things all over the utility room floor. At first I thought they were mouse droppings but they are dead bugs. Two nights in a row I forgot to close the inside back door when it got dark and the light attracted bugs.

I don't know what I'll get done today. I need to unload some things from the camper because I'm bringing it to get serviced and checked out on Monday. I finally made my reservations for a campout near Mobil the end of the month. Gong East through Baton Rouge in not my favorite trip nor thru Houston either.

After going back to bed during the thunderstorm, I got up and my friend and I went shopping. Got a few fun little things to bring home with me. We later went out to eat with her husband and her mom to one of my favorite restaurants and had a nice meal. Now just relaxing. The storms have passed and the sun is out. Tomorrow looks to be decent weather.

Have a good evening!
