Early Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Early Monday

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Apr 02, 2018 7:31 am

Am up in pain again  . I sure wish this would go away soon!

It didn't help that there was only one airbed left at Walmart yesterday and it had a built-in pillow which I don't like. But I had to get something for now. The pillow part pushes my head up too much, putting pressure on my already stiff neck, so I finally had to turn the bed around and put the pillow part at my feet. I did go from a twin to a full size which is nicer. I am going to return it later this week but in the meantime, I ordered a real mattress with a memory foam topper from Amazon that will be here on Wednesday.

Need to do some laundry today before going to work later. Haven't felt like doing laundry for awhile so it has piled up.

I have been trying to grow my hair out but am getting really frustrated with it. I just keep pinning it up to get it off my neck. Am thinking of going short again. It looks cute in an A-line bob and is easy to manage. I wanted to see what my hair would look like longer now that it has gotten curly (hormone changes from menopause) but I think it will be too much work to deal with (it already is). We'll see... I would need to find someone I trust to cut it the way I like it (we hairstylists are super fussy about who cuts our hair!).

Hope you all have a good day! :D

Sorry to hear you're in pain, Barbie. Is it from the flu? It's a quiet morning, here on the river in Lake Charles, LA. My nephew and his wife have gone to work. Henry will be there (Coast Guard) until Wed. Jackie will be home this evening, but she has a commute and traffic to contend with. I've been enjoying my time with them. We've been kayaking twice. I like sitting by the water and watching the sun set. I did laundry and bathed the boys, yesterday. I should groom Rags, today. Will leave here Thursday or Friday. I need to take my time driving to IA and hope it warms up a bit there. Any ideas of things to see in western AR?

Linda, I got this right after having the flu but not sure if it is related. Maybe strained some muscles from coughing hard tho. Just can't figure out why it isn't getting better.

Eureka Springs AR, is a pretty area. Small, quaint town in the hills. And that isn't too far from Branson, MO if you are interested in that.

Finally got a few more hours of sleep after watching Youtube videos on neck stretching exercises for an hour or so! I got my exercise machine delivered yesterday but it is outside in a large heavy box that I can't bring in myself. Will have to find someone to bring it in for me later on. It is one that will work my shoulders, lower back, abdomen and legs. Had one before and it is kind of fun to use.

Am enjoying another quiet day at Rio Viento RV park in Rio Vista, CA. Could not get a spot in Napa EXPO for today, but will get one for tomorrow and Wednesday, so will drive the 60 miles there then. Got lots of stuff to get done today like balancing checkbook etc.

Barbie, have you tried a heating pad on your muscles? I had something similar happen a while back and had to go out and buy a heating pad, which did help. Also, you can get those things you heat in a microwave instead of a heating pad.

I use to live in Lake Charles when I got out of college. There is a Mardi Gras Museum in Lake Charles if you are interested in things like that. I went a couple of years ago. Mitch was in Sulphur with Vicki and still might be.

I had to go to Walmart to get dog food and plant fabric to put around my rose bushes. My neighbor told me she found a small Copper Head snake in her flower bed. That scares me. I need to get some leather gloves. I wanted to get some keys made and the hardware store is now charging $2.50 per key. I'm going to turn into my dad, complaining about how much things cost now.

a long tube sock and rice or small beans lentil something small stitch the end closed and warm up
good luck with the neck ache have a stiff neck along with shoulder pain blaming it on lots of things
way I sleep, the pillow, getting into the truck like I said blaming lots and doing nothing
feel better

I do have a heating pad and also the clay things that go in the microwave or freezer. Have used all of them and they don't do a lot for me.
Altho, I took a couple of Motrin before work and didn't have much pain all day and still don't, so maybe I am finally getting better. Keeping my fingers crossed! Going back to the massage therapist tomorrow morning. I have spent a lot of money this past month on health issues!

Finally got my birth certificate from MN so now I can go get my California driver's license!

Barbara, you live in California! Go look for cannabis oil or butter to rub on neck and shoulder! It absorbs well through skin and it works! We use it Daliy.

I actually thought about that. Where do I get that? A local dispensary?

There is an app named weed map we like. You can find your local places. Don't buy oil made from hemp, get the real stuff and make sure it's been tested, looking for herbicides , molds, pesticides as well as clearly stating potency of CBD vs THC in product. You would be buying recreationally unless you get a Dr recommend but a good dispensary should be able to advise you. Ask your friends which places they trust. We were advised by a dispensary that for Mel's complicated issue we needed to go to a different care place, and we have used that place ever since. They were first here to have all lab tested products. We make our own "butter/oil" we use a magic butter machine from a place in I think Portland. I started a batch tonight. 2 1/2 cups organic coconut oil plus a tbsp lecithin granules. Plus a oz of a mixture of 3 types dry buds, selected for the specific qualities such as pain relief. Into machine we run 2 -8 hr cycles, then strain off the green oil. Poured in a jar and put in fridge it hardens from the coconut oil. I have had Mel put it on my neck and I have used it on my knees and it helps a lot. But any good dispensary should have it. Orally in capsules it takes 1-1 1/2 hours to attain full effect. For me it was gradual onset of relief over a few hours when applied to skin. But relief lasted as healing occured for my neck and knee.

Thanks Velda for the information. I will look into that. There is a large dispensary not too far from me.
