Last Day of March

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Day of March

Postby Colliemom » Fri Mar 31, 2017 7:11 am

Moring, sitting here looking at white ground out there. Not much, just enough to cover the ground. Won't be around long. Weekend looking good.

Nothing much on agenda today. Hanging curtains in my bedroom after i put the rod up. Going to Fish Fry with cousins later. Yesterday was mostly returning some stuff to Lowes, quick run to Walmart, putting taxes away now that they are done and filed, shredding up the 2$007 ones and some other papers, then took dogs for a walk.

Contemplating buying a used 2015 Rockwood Mini Lite 2109S that's at a dealers. In nice condition, they have checked it all over, no signs of any water damage, will do a complete check and inspection of all systems upon delivery to make sure the verything is working right and also check all sealants on roof and sidewalls as well, so sounds like pretty good deal. Need to go look at it first. Does have a slide and that's where the pros and cons come for me. Some love em, some hate em, some have issues, others don't.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning.
Sunshine back today and we got lucky with yesterdays storms - most went around my area for a change... just got some run of the mill thunderstorms, nothing severe.
Got home Tuesday night from my 2 month trip to FL. So glad I decided to make the trip but now trying to readjust to life in the real world - think that is the hardest part of any trip.
Need to absorb more coffee and figure out "what next" for the day.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Raining and dreary in CT. I was going to scope out a site in Southern NH this weekend but they are forecasting snow so will put it off until Monday. Going to get the work of the day done and cozy up to my fireplace.

Enjoy your day!

We didn't get much out of the storms that came through. Now they are saying another one for Sunday. One day it's going to be bad and the next day not so bad. It was kind of cool yesterday but is already up to 80.

Sarah, I would hate to see my mail if I had been gone 2 months. I wish I could have stayed in Florida 2 months but glad I went for a week. So glad I got my tax papers turned in on Tuesday. I know they are working on them because someone called me Wednesday with a question.

My son washed most of the house yesterday and it sure looks good. I bet he's sore today. I have to clean the windows on the inside because I can see the dirt now. Not much else on my agenda. I am going to try to cook some pork chops in the instant pot. We'll see how that goes. I can probably find some recipes on the internet.

Good Morning to All - we actually have the heat on here in Vegas this morning. Lots and lots of damage in the valley. 4 semis were tipped over by the wind - two right in town. lots of people still without power from yesterday afternoon. Winds yesterday up to 70mph. We lost more roof and two neighbors lost the porch roof and the other his carport roof. Today winds are only going to be 50 mph...lots of power poles down, broken in half. trees down all over town.
so will call insurance company again for roof today. and pretty much stay home as lots of debris is still flying around. Palm hotel lost some windows. Winds on the mountain were 82mph. And it snowed up there.
check out the blog for pictures.
don't ravel if you are in the southwest until tomorrow.

Having my lunch break here at work. Direct deposit sent the paycheck to the bank but it is a good
feeling to know the RV and dog funds are growing. Have everything packed in the car except Josef. I will drive
past after work and off we go to the Pittsburgh area for a dog show. I asked my friend Cindy to keep the lights on for us.

Wow, lots of storms all over. Sorry for those who had damage. It is cool here today also but so far no rain. Had to have sinks repaired after they turned off the water to our whole street yesterday. When it came back on there was so much air in the lines it pushed a lot of debris into all the faucets and completely stopped any water flow one bathroom sink. Handyman to the rescue and fixed everything without damaging any of the fixtures. He had to use a monkey wrench to get the one that was completely blocked unsrewed. Not cheap but less than a plumber, plus he changed the filter in my fridge which is a real challenge. I especially like him because he is really neat and recycles any packaging.

I have decided to sell Elsie so if anyone is interested or knows anyone looking I posted information in the Trading Post section. I want something a bit larger 22' would be ideal, a 2008 or newer model. Wistful thinking I know, they are hard to find so suggestions are welcome.

Did several loads of laundry yesterday, including rugs, sheets, and towels, after arriving at Lake Lanier, GA. This is a really, really nice COE campground if anyone is interested. It is on my favorites list because the lake is large and beautiful and the spot I love (#45) is on a very skinny peninsula so I have views on both sides of the lake and beaches on both sides. Empty yesterday, but the weekenders will arrive soon. Walk to laundry is very short from this site also, so easy to get laundry done. This is one of my go-to spots when I want to relax in a scenic place and still get some stuff done. Also did some cleaning this morning and still reorganizing some stuff. One thing I really need to do is sort through my maps and put them in order so I can find the right one when I need it. Maybe tomorrow?

Lots of rain and wind overnight as several lines of storms came through. It is now mostly sunny, but still really windy especially because of the lake and the location of my campsite. Temps have also dropped from 75 to 65, which is OK. Will be warming back up to 70s tomorrow and next week.

I also just started my taxes. Most of my forms are online, so I have been finding and downloading them this morning. I use TurboTax,which really helps.

I am at Old Federal. It's on the southeast edge of the lake near Flowery Branch. I like it because it is more open with better views of the lake than Bald Ridge Campground, which I have also stayed in. Bald RIdge is more woodsy, and it is down one of the narrow arms of the lake, where Old Federal's peninsula sticks out into the main part of the lake, hence better distance views over the lake. Nicer swimming beach here also because it is part of the main lake.

I like Site 45 because it is on the stem of a very narrow peninsula so you have a view on both sides of the lake. Site 44 is behind 45 and a little higher, so really a nice view also. Ditto for 61, which is across the road and slightly behind site 45. There are lots of more shady spots also. Water and electric for $14.50. I could easily spend more time here if I had it right now.

I have some photos on my blog from a couple of years ago: http://grandmajjb.blogspot.com/2015/04/ ... anier.html
