Sunshine Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Feb 16, 2017 7:58 am

Morning,

How y'all doing out there? All's well here. Big warm up coming, got me thinking about summer etc. Got good news for ya, I'm done painting :) Dd my bedroom closet yesterday and touched up few spots here and there. So now it's just pulling some loose ends together like getting some valances and curtains for the windows in this place. Got blinds, but that's all. Probably the first freshening up this place has had in 23 years it's been here.

So today I'm heading to town as was "payday" yesterday, so time for some grocery shopping and a few errands. Need a closet rod for my closet too. Since weather is going to be nice and mild for a week or so, will probably take off on some rides this weekend and next week. Friend just had some surgery, so want to go see her one day.

Hope all of those who are under the weather, having major health issues or family members who do, are all doing okay. Those on the roads, keep safe as well as those in bad weather areas.

Good morning Sue in the all.... having a mini get together with Anita for couple of days... yesterday she took me for a ride on the SS we went up a A1A along the Atlantic coast to Cocoa Beach then went across the intercoastal and back down Route 515 along the intercoastal it was a wonderful ride we stopped at a place called Barrier Jack's for lunch I had grouper and Anita had scallops it was pretty good lunch of seafood... all along the A1A we stopped at a bunch of beach accesses and walked on the beach found a couple of neat shells and all in all just had a really great day... I loved riding in the slingshot that's for sure not that I see one on my list anytime soon... I think I'm going to check on a company that has estate sales early this morning then meet up with Anita at the beach later sounds like a good plan to me....B safe...donna

Morning all.

Sue - congrats, the end of painting sounds like cause for celebration!!

Donna - how fun! I remember how much my friends used to enjoy it when I would take them on motorcycle rides. If you think she'd be interested, let Anita about the Kennedy/Courtenay/Max Brewer loop, if you check the map it's a ride that you can start in either Titusville or Oak Hill, it goes through some gorgeous backcountry over by the shuttle launch area, there's even a place to stop and look at manatees along the way. I rode it often with my dad and it was such a nice bit of old Florida.

Good morning gals!

Can't wait to get going here this morning! This area smells so strong of oil it is nauseating! Kept me awake last night. Whenever the heater came on, that smell got stronger (I think heater pulls in outside air). Will be in Oklahoma tonight so hopefully far away from oil country!

Have a good one!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning ladies
I actually got out my jammies yesterday and did some errands.
Went to WalMart and shopped for new glasses, Now will wait
a couple weeks for pick up. Bought two new outfits while I was
there. Stopped by old workplace to get a copy of some papers
I need for the charter company. Treated myself to a Wendy's lunch.
They have a new cod sandwich on the menu that was pretty good.
Actually ate there instead of "to go" it was actually very relaxing
not to have to share my fries,, ,lol
I forgot to mention the biopsy I had came back as another squamous.
I'm not surprised, surgery scheduled the 22nd.
The coyotes were out my back gate last night just carryin on and
really REALLY noisy yippin and yappin. I enjoy it but it does send
a few chills and makes the hair stand up. I'm suspecting with spring
around the corner,,,,,perhaps one was in heat.
Wondering what I'll get accomplished today, no stress here, there's
always tomorrow.
Y'all have a great day, be safe and those under the weather,,get well soon.

Barbie, I'll tell you what they would tell us when I worked for a fish plant, "It smells like money."

It got down to 42 last night, which normally wouldn't matter but had to turn our heater off. We started getting an electrical smell coming out of the vents. Our house is pretty well insulated so I turned on one of the oil type heaters in the dining room and the middle part of the house stayed warm. Had to close off the North bedroom and bathroom. I am trying to find someone to come look at it. It's the kind that comes in mobile homes and the last time we had it worked on I didn't like the guys that came out. The kind that try to talk you into something that will cost more money.

The sun has ris, the sun has set, yet here we is in Texas yet. That will be me in a few more days as I will be driving across TX.
Going to camp with the kids over the week end, then leaving for FL on Monday morning. Interstate 10 all the way.
Rain Expected this week end too....that doesn't bother me, I like the sound on the roof.
You that have had the flu really sound sick. That is a shame.
Glad you got home Annie. Looks like the rocks shut the hole in the spillway.

Sounds like you are really getting the hang of retirement, Alice. And I LOVE the sounds of coyotes! Makes me know there are still a few wild things out there.

Better night last night since I had the heating pad for my muscle. Lately, I have been getting all sorts of muscle aches and spasms--shoulders and back mostly, but irritating. The pulled muscle on my back is not really on my spine--more over to the left, I am fine as long as I am upright, but when I lay down and roll over, it spasms. I kept it nice and warm most of the night last night, which really helped.

I need to get out and check my bike tire pressure and go for a short ride, but it is really windy. Will go out anyway. Am glad the side of the RV with the door and air compressor compartment are in the sun and protected, so I don't have to sit in the heat anyway. Going to meet my cousin tomorrow at Shark Valley for a bike ride. She is renting a bike, but I hope that means she can make the whole 15 miles. At least she is 12 years younger than me and rides her horse every morning, so I am guessing she is in good shape.

Good evening gals!
Had a long day of driving. I drove a little further than planned and am now in Oklahoma City for the night.

Speaking of coyotes, I sure have seen a lot of them hit on the highways! And skunks! I must have seen a couple hundred skunks hit on the roads just today! They were everywhere! Poor things just don't move fast enough.

I stopped in a little town in Texas this afternoon for gas and heard a rattling noise. Found a mechanic shop down the road and had a nice guy check it out. Turns out my muffler is rattling but still working and attached, so I don't need to worry about that until I get to MN. However, he did look under the hood and noticed my radiator cap was leaking. The top of the cap was rusted thru. He sent me to a parts shop in town and I bought a new one. Had to wait awhile until the car cooled off to replace it, so I stopped in a little diner for lunch. Replaced the cap and was on my way.

Once I got settled into my room tonight, I walked down the street to Braums (must be a southern thing) and bought myself a hot fudge banana sundae. Yum!

Tomorrow, after waiting for rush hour to get over, I will head to Cameron, MO. Then one more day of driving to get back to my dad's house. My brothers cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom for me and say it is now "livable".
Lots of work to do there over the next couple months...

Felt better today but just a little nagging cough yet. Lola did really good today. Hardly meowed the whole time. I even had to poke her a couple times to make sure she was OK. She will meow when I slow down or turn, but then go right back to sleep. I had like 4 tolls to stop for today and of course she woke up from those rumble strips.

Lyn, I hope you get ahead of those storms coming thru the southwest this weekend. Looks like I will have clear sailing all the way back to MN with temps in the 50's the whole way. Hoping I can open the windows in the house while it is warm out to air it out some. My dad put plastic on all the windows about 10 years ago and never took it off that whole time, so it really needs some fresh air in there! I assume my brothers already took the plastic off since they had talked about that being the first thing they wanted to do.

Hope you all had a good day or at least feeling better.
