Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, January 18

Good Morning from the icy north,

Things are very slowly starting to get back to a somewhat normal state up here, but the list of schools and colleges and whatnot closed is so long it takes 15 minutes for it to run across the TV screen and start all over again. The back roads are still icy and the main roads are clearing, but need caution again this morning due to the fog and below freezing temps again last night. The county is sanding/salting, so that will help. Did mine yesterday afternoon late. Molly is not happy as she looks forward to our daily walks and those are not gonna happen till the road are safe for walking again.

So, I guess today's plan will be to repaint the spare bathroom ceiling here and prep it for wall painting later. I need to get to Home Depot to get a paint sample to play with, but not today unless sun pops our later on. Finished organizing my basement yesterday, so other than needed a piece of 1x2 to hang some stuff up on, it's done down there. Have a box of stuff to take to Salvation Army store later, some junk headed for the trash etc. Want to go through some of my pictures down there yet and see which ones I want to put up on the walls here and there as well. So have little things to putter with.

Alice, bet it felt good or maybe strange to wake up this morning and not have to dash off to work. Probably a little sad as well. But hey, you can go visit. Right now, it's time to get ready to head to Q.

Well, nothing else shaking here, so am going to go read elsewhere. Hope ya all have a nice day out there.

Morning Sue and all who follow!

We are meeting with a mortgage lender at our bank on Thursday, weird to be considering a house purchase while the condo in FL is still on the market, but that's paid for so a mortgage is doable. Our realtor (we've used the same guy for 20 years) is back in town form a conference this weekend so we'll start looking at houses next week.

Sue - I told Mary I know a painting expert so maybe we could do our own painting for a change, it's gotten outrageous to try and hire someone to do it.

Sue, I am SO glad not to be in Michigan today! Love this view and am planning on a beach walk later this afternoon. And, Alice, can we assume you are sleeping in and relaxing this morning? I remember how nice it felt that first day I did not have to get up and drive to work.

Mostly been putting around, but it is nice to stay at one place for a whole two weeks. The nice thing about this life, however, is that there are always nice places coming up to look forward to in the next few days.

Long answer to OTW today, so this will be a short post, but at least I wanted to check in. Looking forward to hearing from Alice about her first day of retirement!

Good morning, woke up at 5:30, loaded the car and headed to Superior.
Just back from the store and were gonna start getting stuff loaded. This
is a learning experience for both of us. But I am super excited.
Y'all have a great day, be safe
