Early Thursday.....and

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Early Thursday.....and

Postby Lotus » Thu Apr 23, 2009 1:15 am

I should be in bed already, but instead have been working on my To Do list for tomorrow....or for today because it's already Thursday. Busy time at our house. Have been selling furniture and items on Craigslist. Have a Pack Rat storage unit in driveway filled with "stuff", and our BIG sale is Friday and Saturday. DH working in his garage and has all kinds of tools, and "stuff" to sell. My gosh...so much to get rid of!

Before I head off to bed, I'll have the table ready for early birds. Coffee will be on. Diet Coke's ready. Biscotti...I should try biscotti one of these days. Guess I should see if biscotti is available in the area....I suspect I'd like it. Biscuits are ready to go in the oven! I know others will drop something by for all to nibble on!

I hope that everyone has a super Thursday! The weekend is almost here, and I hope we sell out!!

GOOD MORNING BECKY, and ALL!!

I know I had it in mind to wish you all a Happy Earth Day yesterday, but don't know why I forgot when I got on here! So will do it today. In case you all missed the Oprah Show yesterday, you can have NO idea just much garbage we humans generate each day we live here on earth. It is unbelievably disgusting and we had all better do something about it PRONTO. As far as disposable plastics go, one country---I believe Ireland----has put a heavy extra charge on all products sold in plastic containers. The amount of plastics in their dumps has more than halved in just one year. I must confess I am one who loves plastic containers, but I am going to change my habits now. Why can't we go back to glass containers that can be washed and re-used, or recycled? Sigh---we humans are such huge polluters of this planet, and killers of wildlife as a result.

It rained hard again last night here, and the radar looks as if it will continue through today, on and off. Temps are still above freezing--35---so that is a good thing. By tomorrow at noon, or so, the sun should come out, the wamer air is due to descend upon us, and I will be off to the pond for the weekend!

Thanks for the coffee and goodies, Becky! My pedometer that I bought on Tuesday tells me that I have walked over 3 miles at school each day, if I can believe that little digital gadget. It is amazing how many steps one takes in everyday life. Adding my afternoon walkabouts will greatly increase my activity, and hopefully, calorie-burning.

Hope you all have a fun day and will share it with us....I look forward to reading your posts when I get home from work! It sounds as if Becky will be a busy lady all day!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!!!

We are in Brinkley AR. Got here at 3am this morning. I really hadn't planned on coming this far t be honest. Kept going past the motels that advertised cheap rates and then all of a sudden??? The prices went UP! The closer we got to Memphis the higher they went too. :( Kelly has taken her shower and I am gonna head that way.

Today will see us in Arkansas and on the other side of Little Rock. We are going to the diamond mine today. But Kelly checked the website yesterday and they have no camping tonight? so we will look around and find a campground close by, set up and stay the night. We will have to make sure we have a campfire so that ya'll can come by for a visit. :D

Ok I really need to get my butt into the shower. Wake me up and then I just might be able to do something with my hair instead of looking like an abused Brilllo pad.

I will add a few motel donuts to the morning offerings, I know it's not much but we didn't stop anywhere to get goodies.

Have a great day everyone and please remember to stay safe!

Love to all

Good Morning All.
Running a bit late this AM but seems many of you are also. Our early birds are really at tho, yard sale, weekend at lake and traveling across Arkansas.
Our weather has improved greatly but the tree pollen is terrible. Need a mask out there. Not going to let that keep in inside. Haven't decided where yet but will do some local exploring today. Also will plant some herbs in pots; not much sun on my shady lot making it a challenge to grow most things.
Wishing a great day to all.

Good morning all! Well, it's still morning here in the PNW.
I generally don't post at Barbzeee's table but wanted to add my 2 cents about Earth Day.
We humans average 4 lbs of garbage a day! It's unreal, huh? I too wish we'd do away from using so much plastic in our lives, which is made from petroleum, and we all know our gas/oil saga AND what eating from plastic does to our health.
I needed a couple flower pots to start some herbs in and found some made of bamboo. They are in colors and feel like plastic. The sticker on the side says that the pot will deteriorate in 3 yrs if used inside, and 2 yrs if used outside. When that happens you can plant the pot along with the plant in the ground! They are fairly inexpensive, too. I paid $6 for a 8" pot and saucer.
Just wanted to pass that along. Enjoy your day, ladies!
