Sunny Sunday - Sorry

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Sunday - Sorry

Postby asirimarco » Sun Dec 18, 2016 9:06 am

Good morning to all. I' m always surprised when I'm the first one on being in Mountain time zone. It is pretty darn cool here in Mazatlan this morning. I have on long sleeve and long pant fleece stuff. The outside thermometer reads 51 and the sun is just starting to rise. And it is very humid so it feels cooler. Supposed to be low 80s during the day.
No more work to do for the RV or car and we've had gravel poured around our camp site so that keeps out the dead weeds.
Can't believe it is one week to Christmas - being away from home in warm weather we don't really do much Christmasty stuff. Last night we went out to dinner in the plaza again. Lots and lots of families there enjoying the weather and lights and food and music and vendors. Lot of fun.
I can already hear the birds outside waiting for me to fill the bread/fruit tree for them.

Hope everyone in the northern states manage to keep warm, sounds like a heck of a storm.

Good morning Carol and all... I really get what you mean about Christmas not being Christmas and the warm weather at least that's the way I feel... next year I might just head north for Christmas we will see what the year brings... I got all my Christmas obligations finished and in the mail they should be there by Christmas so says the post office... so now it's back to the packing sorting and searching purging whatever you want to call it... whatever it is I'm tired of it you would think that would give me motivation to get it done well it's been a lazy weekend so far and I haven't done anything... well today will be laundry and football my usual Sunday so I better get at it have a good one everybody & B safe donna

Good Morning all,

Slept in to 8:30, which is unusual for me. I'm a morning person, who is much more content getting up early and starting my day, the slacking off about mid afternoon. But I went out for Sunday paper, have vacuumed house, did a load of wash and now have it in dryer. So stopping by to say hi. Want to put stuff back in the spare bedroom closet Impainted last week, then maybe this week, will paint the bedroom walls and that room will be done.

Was reading through some of the Introductions earlier this morning and want to welcome all of you who have joined in these past few months. You all have your hopes and dreams and I wish you best of luck finding your Rigs and planing your futures. I notice though, that after you introduce yourselves, we haven't heard from some of you. Don't be shy. Join in, tell us how you are doing, if you found your RV or have that big adventure planned. Got questions, need advice or maybe a boost to get past that "what if", don't be afraid to ask. We've all been there. As we say, there is no such thing as a dumb question. Now, dumb answers, well...... There are a lot of GTG's going on or scheduled this winter. Join in if you can. Or just stop by. I'm hoping there will be a bunch this summer.

Donna, why don't you just take out what you know you want to keep and have a resale shop or Goodwill etc., come in and take what they could use and then what's left, just toss. Be a lot easier.

I'm Kay, time to get constructive here. Have a nic day everybody.

Good Morning from frosty South Dakota! It’s -21 and thank goodness there is no wind to add a wind chill! The power has been going on and off since about 4:30 this morning. I’m having flashbacks to 2005 when we were without power for five days. But that was after an ice storm and lines were down. We just had light fluffy snow this time and the outages are from so much wattage being used. The forecast for tomorrow is brighter and we’re supposed to get up to 20 above.

We’re having our Christmas today. Sean has to work on Christmas. Decided to go the easy way and we’re having French dips, potato salad and fruit salad. By the time everyone sits around and eats munchies before supper no one is that hungry anyway. Can’t wait to see Bronc open his presents.

My sister has been here since Thursday. Tomorrow I have to take a friend to the doctor for a breast biopsy.

Guess I’d better get busy and get some things organized. I should do some laundry but I hate to put the extra load on the power lines.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I'm in a different campground, but I assume by now that Anita and Liz are both packed up and gone. I picked up my bike yesterday from the repair shop and rode it down to say goodbye in late afternoon. It was so nice seeing them.

Today is cleaning day--really cleaning. I have three loads of laundry and have already torn my bed apart and emptied the narrow spaces on either side of junk that collects there. It really needed vacuuming! My next step is to take a damp rag and wipe down some of the walls in that room. They get dusty from my bath powder and the little tiny pieces of down that escape from my down comforter. So as soon as that is done and my sheets are washed, I will put them back on the bed. Need to finish vacuuming the rest of the place.

A BIG task, which I will not do until later this week, is to replace both of the toilet seals. I have done the top one before, and the bottom one should be doable, but it is not easy because of the cramped conditions and the fact you have to "hug" the toilet to reach the screw and band, which of course, the manufacturers put on the BACK of the toilet--in an impossibly tiny room. Oh well. Better than paying someone a couple of hundred dollars to do it. Second time should be easier, I hope. Last time, it took all afternoon and two trips to the hardware!

Our temperatures are a big change from yesterday. It got up to 76 yesterday and it's 46 now. No telling what the wind chill is because it is very windy. Frosty goes out in the morning and usually stays out all day. He was ready to come in while ago. It will be cold a few days but I think it will be back in the 70's for Christmas.

Harold came in and I ask him why he didn't stay for church. He didn't know it's Sunday. I ask him if he didn't see the cars at church. He said yes but didn't know why they were there.

I guess the bathroom has warmed up enough for me to get dressed. The big bathroom is on the North end of the house and is the coldest room. There is a big hole under the POS tub that lets the cold in. My son would cover it for me but all his projects get too involved. I think I will just take some cardboard and try to cover it.

Hi Kay! Thanks Sue I needed a giggle this A.M. Dontcha love auto correct?

Still dang cold in Chitown. Single digits expected today, tomorrow and not sure for how long, but may get up to 32* Friday woohoo. Any little bit will help. Work is closed on Friday, so with the balmy (?) temp, may head to CW to check out a couple TTs.

Drive and patio are already shoveled. Yes, I do the patio so the 4-leggers don't track in snow. Punk is a goofball when he comes in. For a little thing, he sure doesn't seem to have a problem in the deeper stuff.

Nothing else {{{shakin'}}} here but the cold. Stay safe everyone and have a good day.

Good Afternoon from Ortona South Campground not far from Clewiston, FL! Already love it here and haven't even explored yet. Phone service, Wi-Fi extender picks up the free Wi-Fi and satellite works! I guess it's next week I won't have phone. 87 degrees so will walk later or in the a.m. I had a great trip down - even a new WalMart with diesel on the right side of the road - I was headed for BP on the left. After two weeks, hated to part company with Liz, but Hardee Lakes will be soon. Good to see JudyJB. Myakka River SP is a winner!

You gals in the cold, be careful! Heard from Kansas family it's very cold there as well.

Fun for you today, Pat with Bronc! Miss those days.

Don't forget to walk over the little bridge, Anita, the one close to the river, and look for the otter. He blends in with the rock, but is outside a lot.

If you walk along the river on the sidewalk that attaches to the fishing platform, from your end of the campground to the other end, headed east, you will see where the sidewalk crosses the creek. Stand on the little sidewalk bridge and look towards the river. You will see the little snowy egret fishing and to the right in the rocks is where I have seen the otter disappear.

Anyway, he is often in the creek, about 10 feet from where it opens into the river.

I have been trying to upload a screen capture but having problems.

I have decided to make a quick trip to San Diego tomorrow to look at that apartment and talk to the manager at Great Clips so I can get things secured sooner than later. Will head back on Tuesday afternoon.

Lyn, I sent you a PM. Am hoping we can meet up while I am there!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
