Winter Storm Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Winter Storm Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Dec 16, 2016 8:14 am

Morning,

Well, here we go again, another storm. After almost two days of wind, blowing snow, whiteouts etc., and 13-14 inches of snow, it finally quit. Now we are all dug out, schools are back in session and life goes on. But tonight into tomorrow, another storm is xpected to dump between 8-11 inches here. It's winter in northern Michigan.

Hey Linda, good to see your post yesterday. Few more days and back to warm weather you can go. Anthing lined up for winter? Donna, that's great that you ladies found another place to meet, do crafts etc. Will give you something to look forward to.

Chiropractor for me this morning, few errands, mammogram and back home. Hope you all have a nice day out there.

Mornin' Sue and all that follow ~~~
Snow expected in Chitown this weekend also, but not as bad as you're getting Sue. 6"-10" near Wisconsin border, maybe 2"-6" where I am in the southwest burbs. Either way, sounds like another weekend in the house except for maybe grocery shopping. Unfortunately, it's supposed to start 2 PM-ish today which mean a lousy commute home. :| Wish I was in a warm zone someplace. 60* sounds good right about now and yes, to some of the ladies that's cold! Come here and experience bone chilling stuff. :P

Ok Sue, am I really slow, or did you just post the pic of Molly & Piper? Either way sooooo cute! Like 2 peas in a pod.

Have a good day ladies and stay safe & warm wherever you are.
Cheryl

Yes Cheryl, I just posted the new pic of Molly and Piper. So, no you aren't slow  Photobucket is driving me nuts anymore. Keeps freezing up or not working, so that's why I don't post pictures more often. Took me an hour just to get that one done.

How's the trailer hunt going? Found out the other day, that dealer I got mine from may be getting some from a manufacturer that lets you design your own floor plan. Gotta check that out.

Good Morning, No snow here yet and a bit warmer today, tomorrow supposed to be a balmy day...in the 50's dropping to 7 by night time on Sunday. We will have a smorgasbord of extremes. I'm just hoping no ice!
Ava I hope your retirement meeting goes well on Monday. We don't see See's chocolate here, is it a local candy?
It is cold dreary days like this I wonder about my location!! We have a short window of good weather where is isn't too hot or to cold. I hope TIna got hooked up without frostbite and is in a much warmer place this morning.
I need to get in gear an put a dog on the grooming table. Thank goodness I have an acupuncture appointment this afternoon!
Take care on the roads Cheryl Sue and everyone else that has to be out on bad roads.

I arrived at Myakka yesterday in the afternoon, and it was not too long before Liz and Anita knocked at my door. Nice chat with them.

Short post because I am waiting for Enterprise to pick me up. They could not find my reservation, but I am taking copy of confirmation that was sent to me. More later.

Getting ready to take off Sunday for Arizona via Death Valley. Can't wait to get on the road. I plan to travel around Arizona until Quartzsite. Gave both pups baths and trims yesterday. Yikes, I haven't packed anything yet. :o Coldest I was in, Lyn, was in Chicago when I finished flight attendant training at United. It was -15* and -45* with the wind chill. It was chaos at the airport because the glue that held the tags on luggage came unstuck in the cold. Everyone lost their luggage. What a mess! The crazy thing was the taxi driver who came to the training center to take us to the airport was only wearing an aloha shirt and a flimsy, lightweight jacket with no lining, and he had to get out and load all our stuff.

Good rainy morning! Glad to be here and no complaints! There is a winter storm warning for MN too with another 10+ inches of snow for my old home town and then they hit the deep freeze on Sunday with below zero temps and windchills to -35 below! So glad to be here in AZ! I had heard a prediction that this winter was supposed to be really bad and looks like they are gonna be right. Not usually this snowy and cold before Christmas. Winters have been really mild for several years so they are due for a bad one up there.

Sue, Linda is heading for Arizona with a couple stops along the way. Can't wait til she gets here so we can go hiking together!

I also noticed the new doggie picture of Sue's pups! Very cute!

I spoke with the lady who has the apartment in San Marcos, yesterday. We talked for a long time and she seems very nice! She loves cats but doesn't have any so she said Lola would have run of the whole apartment, which she will love! She likes to hike so I would have a hiking partner too. The bedroom is large (10X14) with an en-suite bath and walk-in closet. There is a balcony, and a heated pool and hot tub. It is also right across the street from Walmart and Taco Bell! (apartment complex is on the back side of Walmart so no traffic issues there). I am planning to drive out there probably right after the first of January for a couple days so I can meet with her and work out the details, and get my ocean fix. If it works out, I would move there the first week of February. Am very excited!

Have the next two days off. My roommate is already fighting with her daughter so it gets a little tense around here at times. They are having a cookie party/exchange here tomorrow with a ton of her friends so that will be crazy!

Ava, I work on Sunday. Will PM you with more info...

I bought some cute tiny metal sculpture reindeer tealight holders (12 for $16) and plan to give those to my coworkers for Christmas. I bought some tiny red pompoms to glue on their noses, so will do that today. I also bought a dozen battery operated tealights to go with them. They are adorable! I will keep one for myself!

Hope you all stay warm, dry and safe today!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sue ~ So far still like the Coachman Freedom Express 279RLDS the best, but any of the floorplans similar to the Forest River Salem Hemisphere Hyper Lite 24RLSHL could be possibilities too. Just might depend on the $$$ involved. Almost looks like the same pic of Molly, must be her favorite spot (or did you Photoshop Piper into the picture? )

BJ - I know See's Candies are available around here, but don't think I've seen a store (like Fanny Mae).

Coldest I've lived thru ~ Chicago -80* wind chill in the mid 1980's, and no garage so kept going out to make sure the car would start. Now that was really {{{cold!}}}

At that point, I wouldn't even care about the car anymore!!!

Have made it as far as south of Asheville and have stopped for
some lunch. Hoping to make to my daughters driveway by 4:30 or 5:00. Will probably head farther south on Sunday....

Years ago our neighbor use to give us a 5 lb box of See's candy. My kids(and probably DH) would take a bite of a piece and put it back if they didn't like it. We would end up with a box of half eaten candy. I finally started cutting each piece in half as soon as we opened it. Yikes, I just looked at their site and a 5 lb box is almost $100.

I had to take CC and Posse for their rabies vaccination this morning. The vet didn't want to give CC the rabies shot with all the ones he had on Wednesday. The shots on Wednesday took the wind out of his sails. Today I keep having to put him outside because he is so wild. He had ear mites and round worms. He must have been hanging out with the wrong crowd before I got him.

It's 67 here and only suppose to be 63 over night. Sunday it will be rain and back into the low 30's. I can go out without a jacket if I don't stay long. It would be better if it wasn't so windy.

It's not morning, but I'm chiming in, anyway. I worked 5 hours OT this morning, so I could take my 5 hours of personal time off tomorrow afternoon. I walked over 7 miles in just a half day! If I keep up with walks, after I leave, I will still be ready for hiking in AZ. Just 5 more days of work and I can head south :D I may stop and see Wendy on my way through Birmingham. Going to spend Christmas with my friend, Deb, in Ocean Springs, MS. I'm so excited!!! I spent a few days with her last year, but they were in a different town. Her son bought a house and there is space for me to park Myrtle next to it. She is off for the week between Christmas and New Year's, so I'm planning to spend the week with her. Fun!

Barbie....I'm guessing that customer didn't tip, either? I hope you red flagged him. It sounds like you've decided to move to CA? That didn't take long! You're not even going to see if you can tough it through a desert summer? I know you like the ocean. I hope it works out for you.

It's supposed to get up to 63 tomorrow....YAY!!! My hose is frozen so I can't top off my tank. I will take advantage of the warm day to do that, before the next wave of teens. This is ridiculous!

Oh, BTW....I'm going to try to sell Myrtle when I get to AZ. So, if you know anyone who is looking for a 35' Class A. I want to buy a used Class B and, eventually, a small
TT to pull behind. Live in the TT and have the Class B for side trips. I need more freedom to boondock in National Forest and BLM land, where Myrtle can't go. Also, still hoping to go to AK and the Class B would be nice for that. Let me know if you see any good deals!
