Cool Friday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Friday Morning

Good Morning. Donna, you said it's cool front n FL, it's cool up here too. 40 degrees at the moment. We are actually having below normal temps, but I'all take it. It's the fall weather I love.

Have to say, that after moving here in June, cleaning up brush, having some shrubs, stumps and a couple small trees removed, painting, hauling off junk wood etc. etc., I now have the yard and house done. I just replaced a step on the landing off the side door and was able to paint that too. So now it's just routine maintenance. Wasn't able to get deck repainted, but will do that in spring. Feels good to have this place shaping up. Leaves are coming down and I have been blowing them off. Neighbor ran his leaf vac over my yard the other day and cleaned up a lot of them. So today I am going to just putter around. Need to go grocery shopping, to the bank etc.

Donna, glad to hear you are making progress in the sorting etc., and I know you will enjoy your few days "off" . Judy, you sound like you are in heaven down there. Catherine, so nice you got to see the new Great grand. Guess everybody's busy these days. Not many posts. Peggy, was happy to see yours the other day. And Beth is able to post more now too.

Time to be moving along here, so hope you all have a nice day. Just st realized that the title was messed up by spell correct earlier.

Good morning Sue and all who follow!

I posted last night in yesterdays MC about my Sedona visit. It is so beautiful up there. WIll definitely be going back for further exploration!

Taking it easy today. Had planned to go to the Fair today but too tired and broke. :( Need to start going thru my photos and get my blog started up again.

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It is paradise here, Sue, but paradise often comes with mosquitos! I stopped at the drug store yesterday to get more Benadryl and a spray to cut down the itching. Check out my blog for recent photos.

Today I really needed to sleep in and now want to catch up on some work. I am definitely planning on a beach walk today sometime and also see if I can get some photos of the iguanas here. Also spent some time last night and this morning planning a trip in June to Grand Canyon and the southwest. He was originally wanting to go to Yellowstone and stay inside the park but realized that the prime hotels in the park are already booked, so he is making that for 2018. I am his travel agent of sorts because I have been there, done that. I also made a week's reservation for myself in Grand Canyon to overlap when he and family will be there. The kids will LOVE the elk!!

Keeping it short, but hopes everyone has a good day.

Good morning! Well summer the last few days over! Rain started last night and it's still raining! And it doesn't look good for the rest of the day. I had planned to run into State College today for a dog food run and Lowes but they've been talking about Centre County all morning on TWC. There are several roads that always tend to flood over that way so think I'll pass today. They are using one high school about 30 miles from here for flood evacuation victims. Not nice out there!

I did manage to get some leaves cleaned up the other day but betweeen the rain and the wind the backyard and driveway is all yellow again! So guess I know what I'll be doing when we get some dry weather! Be nice if we get some drying wind cause wet leaves are so much harder to deal with!

Been enjoying the photos being posted from out west! Some beautiful country we have! Donna, good to see you are taking a few days to decompress! Judy, sounds like you are in a nice warm spot! Wish we could ship some of this weather to you folks in CA! Barbie, good to see you're enjoying your new area! I took a day trip the other day south of here to visit some friends and enjoyed the colors on the mountains. The sun shining on the trees was so gorgeous!

Well, time to get back to my house cleaning. Have a great day and week end. Travel safe.

Ha! You're right, Lyn. I don't have any great-grands just yet.

I love hearing everyone talk about the leaves & the rain & the cool weather. I do miss Fall but I am grateful that I don't have to clean the gutters, rake or mulch the leaves or worry about what all the rain is doing to the yard and/or foundation of the house. OSharon, if you do figure out how to send some rain out to CA, please do - we would love it! But be careful out there - flooding roads & evacuation sites don't sound like much fun.

DD & DSIL are coming up for the weekend - they're going to Six Flags tomorrow but we'll all take some time to celebrate the closing of my house while they're here. Need to get the place in order before they arrive later tonight. Work was crazy today - thankfully the baby was good - except when she pushed the 'off' button on my work laptop & nearly shut it down. :o

Sue, I enjoy hearing your accomplishments. If I didn't have to work, I might enjoy doing some of those things - then again, I may not.

Be safe out there & enjoy!

We've had a week of breaking hundred year old record high temps (90s). That ended yesterday; tomorrow will feel like winter with highs only in 60s. Leaves are coming down faster daily due to stress on trees from extreme drought conditions - on track for the driest Oct on record also.
Allergies seem to have improved slightly since the humidity dropped dramatically. Am hoping cooler weather will also help.
Upgraded memory and operating system on my near antique laptop. Have spent a good bit of the week trying to get everything working again and figure out the changes in OS. Computer is running very slow. Will give it a few more days but am pretty sure I cannot live with the slow response times - don't want to buy a new laptop yet so I will likely have the hard drive upgraded too.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!
