Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning,

Finally have a morning where I don't have to be running off to town for church, Appts, etc. been doing some lurking a bit just to kep up though.

Martha, glad you are doing okay down there. Sure is a mess. Catherine, you are really making strides on emptying the house, wow. Cheryl, posted new site for fall GTG if anybody's interested, Anita, from looks of the rain moving north and east, better you stay put and not hurry the SS trip.

Lots of rain moving north from the south. Same system that's affecting Martha and others. Hope Sarah is doing okay as well. So far it's been moving from SEto NE acros the state and passing just below me. We could use some of it. So today is going to be a putter with this and that type day. After playing with color chips, decided black shutters are the better choice for his house right now, so have them in the garage with first coat on them. Plan to do second this morning. Also going to putter in house doing some final unpacking of what boxes are left upstairs here. Finished the final trim work on that bifold door project, so need to get pictures posted. Neighbor came over with chain saw yesterday and took some small saplings down that were close to road at far end of my property and cut some fence post tops shorter for me as well. So that kind of stuff is now done. Property looking good. Once I get porch floor and hopefully deck painted, then it will be maintenance mode from here on. Been a busy summer and I've done a lot here, but now all that hard work is paying off. Now will be able to play with flower beds. Carolb, wish you could have seen the rooted mass I tore out alongside the garage. 20 feet of nothing but root bound Iris and day lilies.

Well, time to move along here. Have a nice day everyone, keep safe and out of harms way in the rains and flooding.

Mornin' Sue and all that follow ~~~

Well I did cancel this weekends reservations because of storms in the forecast. They could be intermittent, but if rain is going to make it hot & humid, I'd be miserable. Plus I need to catch up on usual weekly stuff because I spent Sunday in the ER with Mom (nothing was found wrong, hate to say it, but I think she was crying wolf). Also explains why I was looking for input for the October GTG location. My brain in exhausted (Eileen can back me up on that one  ).

Martha keep an eye on things and keep us informed. Flood stage for the rivers are moving south according to this morning's forecast. Nice to see Donna is getting out with her new to her home on wheels. Did you think of a name for it? Or did I miss it? Also can't wait to hear Anita's stories from her SS ride. Ava glad to hear your final route will seem to be less stressful for you.

Nothing much else happening. Work is still a pain in the you know what. Have a good day everyone & stay safe on the roads.

Good Morning to All. Up early slowly finishing loading Arvi [the RV] just have refrigerator/freezer stuff to do.
Only going 200 miles to Williams, AZ with a stop in Kingman for fuel at Flying J. Staying at a Passport America park there. When making the reservations I discovered our membership had expired. They sent renewal to Indiana address. All straightened out now.
It is 6:30 here in Vegas and 87 degrees, on its way to 108 - cooler than yesterday. 6% humidity though so doesn't feel bad when in the shade. We won't be getting on the road until 9:30 - 10. Traffic should be over by then. Wind doesn't usually pick up until afternoon, I hope. Got gas for the car yesterday at 2.19 - not bad for here in Vegas.
Don't know how long we'll be gone, have to be back by 9/17 as mail will start being delivered again then.
Not sure where we are going either, other then to 1000 Trails park near Cottonwood, AZ. Depends somewhat on the weather. Anyway, I'll be blogging if you want to keep track of us.
Hope the weather in the Midwest doesn't cause any more damage for any one. Though I saw on the news that there was a tornado not too far from where we lived in Indiana. Guess I shouldn't complain about the heat here.
I like the day of the week in the title - easy to forget what it is when you don't have to get up and go to work.
Take care if you are out and about.

Good Morning Everyone !! If and when I can get all my stuff loaded I will start the trek home this morning. HOT already and of course, I felt I needed a shower before dressing and I will need another just before I drive off from here  Stopping by my sisters about 80 miles north of here and will stay a couple of days, I need a perm before I get up where I've went through all the salons and no one does my hair right, they burn it or frizz it up. :o She has several places nearby and most times, you can call and someone can take you right now, sure hope this is one of those times.

I hated seeing my grands off for last time this morning, but it won't be long I will be back. I've been trying to keep up with everyone, Martha, I hope the rain will stop there until you all can dry up some. I see some have cancelled camping trips because of some sort of weather, rain or hot or something. Too bad !!

Better get off of here and pack it up. I only do a certain amount and stop, this heat , wow !! I haven't been outside much unless I'm going in the pool, otherwise, it takes your breathe away and me I don't have a whole lot anyway :( Having a problem with frig staying lit on gas, oh well guess time for another problem. :D

Take care all and Stay safe !!! Enjoy your day !!!

Gmorning Sue, Cheryl & all to follow :)...and the two other Carols who snuck in while I was typing!

Sue, your root-bound day lilies, ugh! I'm going to have to tackle that project next spring, as my front flower bed is overrun by them. Cheryl, tending to parents is exhausting at times? Hope you can get away one of these days.

Been meaning to mention that no police have been cruising my area since you left, Anita  They RARELY cruise my neighborhood, but when the SS was parked in my yard, how many times did we see them go by--3, 4, 5? And those were just the times we noticed them

Martha, keeping good thoughts that you'll continue to be safe from floods--and Carolyn, did she have to evacuate? Donna, have a great get away with Margie. How is your dad doing, btw? BJ, great "wild kingdom" story the other day:)

Hope y'all have a great day!

Good Morning!

Carolb, thanks for the chuckle about the police! I opened the door the other day and was startled by two couples walking up from behind the rig - they were going to knock and ask me to uncover the SS so they could see what it was (I had the loose cover on so not a big deal). The rest of the time I watch people walk or drive by and crane their necks. If it wasn't for the messy trees, I'd leave it uncovered so they didn't have to wonder. :D

Just looked at radar and appears maybe Martha and Carolyn are not getting so much rain now. Glad they both made it through unless something happened overnight? As far as my trip, Sue, it is going to happen, but I'll keep an eye on the weather and rain gear handy. Wish I had been there to help you pull roots - destruction is my forte!

Cheryl, sorry the weather has changed your plans - I'm sure you could use a get away. CArol, been wondering about you! Frig may be a simple fix - know I had something clogging a pipe one time (mind isn't coming up with the correct word).

Slowly packing - wish it wasn't so hot so I could put things in SS to see how they fit!

Make it a great day and safe travels!

I hope everyone's morning is going well or getting better. Mine could have definitely get better!! So far the washing machine repairman found holes in the bottom of my stackable washer/dryer combination. He isn't sure if he can find a replacement tub as it was made in a Magtag plant that closed in 2002. I am still waiting for the tree man to come see if he can pull the dogwood tree, that is about to put it's branches through the living room windows, back up right. With all the rain it just started coming out of the grown and several branches are on the roof which for now is holding it up, but I'm afraid as it pulls out more it will send limbs through the window. The worst was, little Andy had a seizure or something and couldn't walk, but kept trying and falling. I got hold of him and held him and thankfully it soon passed. He had coughed a bit and with his COPD sometimes it makes him either pass out or almost go out. Sooo, I am having my noon toddy for the body now. On a brighter note I found a home remedy that some of you might find useful and cheaper than any other treatment for corns. I have one on the bottom of my foot and the podiatrist I saw a couple of months ago did something for it but, it didn't go away. I Googled alternative treatments for corns and found several. The one I tried worked overnight! You soak a small piece of bread in apple cider vinegar ( I used Braggs Raw Unfiltered with the 'mother'.) You put some of the soaked bread on the corn and cover it with a bandage, then I lightly wrapped it. This morning the center came right out! Feels so much better!!

It is still raining here but pretty light so far this morning. At least it is cooler and my friend is stopping by soon with pumpkin bread.

I am finally awake enough to check email and post here. I drove 311 miles on Sunday, which included a walking tour of a dam and lock in Moline, IA. Then yesterday, I drove another 225 miles and did some grocery shopping before arriving here very late. I was really exhausted and made it to bed about 11:00 pm last night after getting settled and putting everything away. So I slept in this morning until 10:30 am and was still groggy for a while. Found out I had parked in the wrong campsite, as well. Luckily, nothing but electric to unhook, so I put in slides, drove my trash to the dumpsters, and got set up again in the RIGHT spot this time!!

Slightly cooler but more muggy with some rain here. Better than sunny and hot and muggy, at least.

I get a 50% discount on this Ohio State Park (Maumee Bay), which is nice, but I also noticed that is it Passport America and people staying Sunday through Thursday also get a discount. What is nice about this place is that a genius designed the layout!! There is a main road about a mile long and several spur roads going off of this main road. Each one is slightly curved, so you cannot see all the way down the road. There are actually about 50 sites on most of the spur roads, but you can't see more than four or five on each side of you, plus they left greenery between these widely spaced sites, so nice privacy. And because it is not directly on Lake Erie, weekdays are very quiet. Between these curved spur roads are marsh, grasslands, and small and medium-sized trees--not much shade, I am afraid, but good place for satellite reception. There is never anyone less than 150-200 feet behind you and you can't see them anyway. Anyway, for $13.50 it is a perfect place for me to relax and catch up on work.

Thought I'd do a mid month check in to let you ladies know I have not forgotten you. Been reading but not posting lately as my life kind of sounds like a broken record.

Still not feeling well at all. Oppressive heat/humidity coupled with severe allergies have conspired to pretty much keep me inside except medical appointments and grocery store now and then. And sitting on porch for short periods to let Nicky have some outside time in fenced back yard. This time last year I was busy cleaning and painting the large upstairs screened porch. Now no energy and cannot even get out there to wipe down furniture and sweep up the pollen.

One would think since I've been trapped at home so much I would have a spotless house and my bookkeeping up to date. Such is not the case. To be honest, I've gotten hooked on adult coloring books and have spent too much time playing games on pogo.

May try to get out late this afternoon to check on Magic. Mainly to see if DampRid needs replacing. Been keeping two of the hanging bag style in RV. Box says should last 60 days and in the past, think that was about right. However this summer even with two in the tiny space of my RV they are lasting only 40 days.

The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Sarah, my life is a broken recored this week for sure. Just watching the water slowly drain out of the pastures and watching the weather channel. So far so good for us. There are so many people with flooded houses and so many that can't get back to their houses yet. I haven't been out since about last Wednesday and won't be out for a few days yet. My son went to town in the truck this morning and there is still one place going to town that has about a foot of water running over the road. He made it to the little town between Abbeville and Lafayette to see if our property where his trailer is parked flooded. It didn't. All of this is going to start more talk of building a metal building there again.

The radar shows rain all over Louisiana and half of Texas stretched all the way to Ohio. I hope it is just very light rain. It rained here for a little while but not much.

There was an RVing Women campout in Biloxi, MS this past weekend. It is sure a good thing I decided not to go. One lady from Baton Rouge went and can't get home. I would have been so worried and Harold would have been having a fit because I wasn't here. Carolb, Carolyn was evacuated to Cuba. Just kidding, she was on a trip with her sister and maybe some friends. I think she was on a cruise so don't know how much information she was getting about home but she is back in the USA. Her house didn't flood.

Judy, it's a good thing someone didn't come in during the night and want you to move. There are a lot of campgrounds where the numbering is confusing to me. That sounds like a nice campground. The state park they built near me has spacious sites with trees and bushes between the sites. I thought with all the flooding around it would be closed but it isn't.

Yesterday I walked down the road until I got to where the road ditches are deep and full of water. I decided I better turn around so I wouldn't be alligator bait. People are posting pictures of big alligators showing up in towns because of all the water. They seem to follow flowing water to find new homes.

Martha, I have not seen a ranger or even a camp host since I got here--just the two ladies in the store who checked me in. A lot of Ohio schools started today so no crowds to say the least. There are only two other campers down this spur anyway, although I do see a pickup truck once in a great while and saw dog walkers once today. Just the way I like it!! I can see the tops of a couple of RVs in the distance on other loops, but this place is barely 5% occupied, which is good during the summer.

I chatted with a friend in New York City today, and she asked if anyone checked on me here. Nope. That may have bothered me when I started full-timing, but not now.
