Ok. Seriously. You know it is late when I start this--past noon the east. Headed east through Illinois so not much time to write, but up and at 'em everyone!!!

Crikey! I too just checked via my cell & saw no one here! Thought maybe my phone was nuts, so got out my laptop. Good to see you Judy:) I've enjoyed hearing about your IL adventures, as I lived there 24 yrs--Springfield & Galesburg. Spent much time in the quad cities--Davenport/Moline/Bettendorf/RockIsland.

Ok, so I hope everyone is doing well--Martha & anyone else in flood areas especially! We had quite the storm blow through here last evening, but no damage. Lost power for a few hours. Today, stormy looking, with chances of tstorms all day. And HUMIDITY! So are we all about DONE with that!!! :x

Hmmmm waiting to hear about Alice's breakfast with "not Bill" ;)

Y'all have a great day, be safe always 8-)

Heat index 108 and humidity!! I give up!! Not doing laundry, not cleaning SS! This is ridiculous. Slowly getting things ready to pack. I don't read between the lines too well - thanks Carolb for the not Bill hint!

Make it a great day and safe travels.

One good thing about the rain is it's only 86. If it was 100 we could steam vegetables outside with the humidity. It hasn't been raining this morning but we aren't out of it yet. There is still some East of us. The biggest area has moved to the Texas/Louisiana state line. That could cause some more flooding. If Toledo Bend Lake gets a lot of rain and they have to open the dam it could flood things South of there again. We just can't win. Harold went riding this morning and the river South of us has gone down a lot but water is running over the road about 2 miles North of us. It's not very deep.

Harold's daughter has been trying to go to Lafayette for a month and she picked this weekend to come. Now she's stuck in Lafayette. I'm not sure they are even going to be able to go back to New Orleans tomorrow.

I have been having trouble with my msn email for a week. My son says they are trying to merge outlook and hotmail. It looks like they would let you know something in advance. We are also having AT&T internet problems so I thought it was because of the internet. I have seen people on Facebook complaining about AT&T cell phone service too. They get you dependent on them and leave you hanging.

Was 104 yesterday and headed near same today, though with humidity at 16% we are not as uncomfortable as you in middle of country! And we aren't having to use row boat to commute! praying all of you stay safe.
We won't do much but watch Olympics and stay cool today. Week ahead has usual trips to Lymphedema therapy twice for Mel and Curves for me and lunch with a friend thursday. If weather moderates I want to get into the van and pull out a shade whose string broke and order a kit to repair. Also have some other stuff to do to get ready for an overnight down south to my hometown for a 60's classes picnic in Sept. we will be on an island in the Delta with dry camping and those with campers are invited to be locked in for the night ( bring up the drawbridge boys!) ha ha will be fun to be with HS friends. Then in October is our 50 th for our class and will take van again for 3 night 4 day celebration including seeing our beloved Bulldogs of the current generation play football in the new stadium, finally replaced just a couple of years ago. Hard to believe its been half century!
Have a good week all.

Sorry to say for many of you - wonderful for me, but it's been really nice in this part of SD. Some are complaining it's too hot, but with low humidity, I can't understand complaining about mid-to-upper 80's - which isn't most days. We've only really had a handful of days that got into the 90's and only two I can think of I used my ac instead of open windows for sleeping. And I've needed my electric heater to take the chill off the air the last three mornings. I start out with my bedroom window open, and sometime during the night I close it. And I've started setting the heater for 60 degrees, then turning it up to 65 when I awake in the morning. Absolutely wonderful sleeping weather.

Having our last bbq/pot luck with this crew tomorrow. Doing 1 pm to work best with everyone's schedules. My boss and I bought some steak burgers and a few steaks to be grilled. I went to the store today to figure out what my pot luck item should be and settled on red beans and rice. I have to work the morning, so will make them tonight and bring them in my crock pot to the store and heat them up before it's time. Sometime in Sept those left here will go out for a meal.

Almost time to say goodnight but thought I'd report on our sale. This has been the most exhausting 6 days ever but we're done. Had a steady stream of folks all day Saturday. Weather was perfect & we priced things to sell. Sunday was a little slowerer but got rid of even more. All leftovers are on the driveway to be picked up tomorrow. Fast & furious - I can't believe we got it done in 1;week!!! I have a couple of amazing sisters!!

Had several inquiries about the house. Exchanged names & numbers with 4 folks, 2, flip houses, 2,just want to buy & fix it up to live in . Hopefully will talk to out realtor tomorrow & see what she thinks for pricing.

Back to work in th office in the morning . It'll feel like a vacation!! Ha!

Good night - sleep tight.
