Sunday rain

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday rain

Postby carolb » Sun Jun 05, 2016 6:12 am

Gmorning all:)

I've been awake for a couple of hours, enjoying the rain that we desperately need here. Have been watering, especially seed plantings, everyday. Spent all day yesterday putting in the last (?) of my flower seeds since rain is expected for the next several days. Now to sit back & look forward to their growth:) Martha, hope you aren't getting flooded out. Someone once questioned why we don't have an "interstate" water system--build water conduits along with the highways so water can be directed wherever it's needed in the country??? Wouldn't that be great!

Anita, way to go! I can't imagine you having any problem keeping up with the other riders, but my choice would also be the scenic drives. CArol, sorry to hear about the MH problems, not fun. Catherine, hard to believe the apple of your eye is already 10 mo old and walking! And your other baby girl soon to have her formal wedding--glad all the family will be together. OSharon, sorry about your family:( Alice, hope you & Honey Bear had a good shake-down trip with the MH. Did you mention where you were going? Thanks to many of you who shared opinions of pet vaccinations--BJ, you're always good at providing links to "official" info:)

Need more coffee, then back to the front porch to enjoy the rain. Hope y'all have a great day, stay safe always 8-)

Morning Carol and all who follow,

Yep, been raining here too. Like you we need it here as bad. Supposed to be raining on and off till Tuesday sometime. Fine by me. Sounds like you have your garden and flower beds all set and waiting for that rain . We can water them like crazy, but nothing works better than good old rain. I have flowers planted in flowerboxes and planter, waiting to be moved over to new house.

Speaking of rain, looks like FL is going to be ground zero for a tropical storm. Hope all out forum sisters down there don't get flooded out or blown around much. Feeling for those in TX as well. Enough is enough.

Heading into final week here in this house. Will be busy week. Am currently painting over a little dressing table for my next door neighbor and am about half way on it now. At a point where the table is ready for the final coat and the other pieces need their second coat. Also repairing a leg on the little stool that goes with it. Will probably do the small stuff in the house here and will paint the final coat on all of them at the same time. Will try and see if I can get a picture for you. Going to be working in house for next couple of days, packing up remainder of what's left and also touching up the nail holes. Have two house closings this week, a chiropractor apt. and other things to do. Want to start erecting dog fence next Sunday unless I have a fence company do it. Will depend on how much that costs.

Heading off to mass this morning, trip to store and then home to get into stuff. Hope you all have a Blessed Sunday, those in the paths of the storms, keep safe.

Good Morning all, beautiful day in MN. Unfortunately I am working, but can look out the window. A shame about all the rain in TX, to bad it won't move over a little into the dry areas of CA. Flowers and trees all looking so green and lush! My daughter and I planted containers for the deck this spring and they are starting to fill in, nice to sit on the deck and enjoy them. Yesterday, I took my daughter out driving with the trailer. I have been giving her a crash course into using the trailer. Her and kids going camping next weekend and then again over the 4th with my trailer. I was a little hesitant, but wish I could back up as easily as she did! My grandson (11) also has some lessons. There will be plenty of other people camping with them, so all should be OK.
Test drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee yesterday, very nice. They can pull more than my mariner and I am thinking of upgrading to a 16' next year. We will see.
Sue good luck on your move, sorry to hear about the lemon Donna. You just never know what you are going to end up with, even when you check it out good.
Have a nice day to all, and safe travels to those on the road.

A night of fierce storms and rain here in central VA, with clouds today promising more. Still haven't planted the summer veggie garden and probably won't, with all the trips I'm planning. Good opportunity to support my local farmers at the market!

Good Morning, I could have used a few more hours of sleep. Out late at an annual birthday party a friend hosts every year for his birthday. He hires a popular band and it is held at a semi private lake. It had rained a lot earlier but when we arrived at eight it had stopped. Smaller group than usual but still a good time. There was a family there with a 6 day old baby  The husband had it out on the dance floor as did a couple of their older children. Not having children, I'm not sure if my thoughts are old fashioned but, seemed too much too soon. Another woman brought a small unleashed dog and totally ignored it all evening. It was upset and paced nervously through the dance floor and under chairs the whole evening. I felt so sorry for it.
Carolb, I like the idea of an interstate water system!

Good morning all, thought I would try and jump in to the daily talk, not sure if I will be able to keep up but will give it a go. I'm still in WA at my BFF but will be flying back to Fl on Saturday. Been missing the kids and grands so it will be good to see everyone, grand daughters birthday coming up and a lot of appt' stop catch up on then one short work trip and a vaca with DD and family. In between all of that there is plenty of cleaning and organizing to be done at my house and especially in my studio, want to make plenty of stuff to keep the gallery stocked as well as story selling some on FB. Will be flying back out here end of Aug for a couple months, we are hoping to do a couple shake down trips with the trailer when I am here (keeping my new TT here until next spring) will also be watching out for my perfect tow van over the next several months.
As far as vaccines go, not a big fan of the way our country pushes them for humans or animals. I will do the rabies 3 year once a dog is over 1 yr but the other stuff not so much although once I get another dog and start traveling extensively I may have to rethink it some. I have done the blood titers and would rather pay the extra for that than load them with more chemicals. Hope everyone has a great day!

Mornin' ladies ~~~
We'll need to see a pic of your pretty flowers once everything starts blooming Carol. Sue I sure don't envy you right now with packing and moving. I'm sure not looking forward to it when the time comes. I'll have 3 houses and 1 condo in Florida to close up and sell.

Hoping the shakedown of the MH goes good for Alice and her honey. Donna, sure sounds like you've not had fun with your rig lately. Do a rant. Some may have suggestions and it will help to blow off some steam.

Bummer about having to work Rosemary. I've done it myself on Sundays too many times, especially when you'd rather be out someplace else.

BJ I'm with you. A 6 day old baby should not be out of the house yet, but nowadays, I think some new parents all day don't want to give up their 'me' time. I remember when new babies didn't leave the house until they were christened (around 3 months). Things change. And the poor dog. Guess some people don't think.

Spent the whole day yesterday at the Ford dealer yesterday. Went in for an oil change and left with a new battery for the key, new rotors and new brake pads. All for the price of the oil change. Shop manager knew I just bought it used from them and talked to the owner. I love that dealer!
ON EDIT: Old truck needed brakes too. Somehow I really lucked out on paying for them on either one. Happy Day! :D

So my intentions of looking for fall vaycay places isn't getting done like I planned since I'm catching up on housework and laundry today. ah well such is life.

Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.
Cheryl

We only got about 2 1/4 inches of rain in all. The yard is soggy but not flooded. Most of the storms went North of us. There was street flooding in Lafayette. It looks like all the rain is East of us now. Florida will get some of this and it looks like what ever the tropical depression brings in a couple of days. I hate to see all that start up again. They pump oil and natural gas all over the country it looks like they could build a pipe line from Louisiana and Texas to California to send them some water. lol

Donna, it looks like a hinge would be something that could be replaced. The way RV things go they probably want to sell a whole door instead of a hinge.

I worry if someone sneezes or coughs around me. I just can't see taking a 6 day old baby around a bunch of people. I have wondered what nurses think when they have to hand a baby over to some people to take home. You have to jump through more hoops to get a dog.

Solowalkin, I read RV Sue's blog and a while back she had posted the name of a place in Washington state that sells used commercial vans. At that time there was a van that would have been perfect for someone that camped. It had shelves built into each side. The name of the dealer is Pacific Fleet Sales.

I found out my grandson will be here in a couple of weeks. I don't know how we will entertain him. His dad stays busy all the time. The local park has a splash pad but he's a little old for that. There is a campground East of here with a pool and lazy river. I will have to take him over there some.
