Saturday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 05, 2016 7:30 am

Morning,

Sausage and eggs on menu if anybody wants any, or bread for toast if that's all you want. Cloudy and mid 20's here. Light dusting of snow last night. Big warm up starting this weekend although it won't be that warm, in 30's, but warmer as we get into week. The sun is definitely warmer. They are saying our snowpack will probably be pretty much gone by end of week. Fine by me. But I know that although we can have an early spring, it can also turn around and blast us again, just when you think it's over.

But it sure doesn't stop hitch itch. Got some travel info on WI and might just make some forays into the NW part this summer. Am also looking for a spot for a fall GTG, but that part of WI would be a bit too far for some of you to travel. So will look farther south for that.

Miss Piper went over my fence again yesterday  . First time she did it, used an old pond form I had leaning against my woodpile. Has since been moved. Not sure how she did it yesterday, but suspecting over back gate, as it's made of wood and wire. The snow piles up against it so it's about 3 feet to top right now. She's crafty, so probably figured it out. Must have been something over there. But she stays close and came back around to front door when I called her, which is better than Miss Molly who turns a deaf ear on me. Once snow goes down, that will end that.

Back to my cleaning this morning. Will be at the halfway point today. Making a list of the little things I find that need a dab of paint here or there. Have a door and frame needing staining, but need warm weather to do it. So time to get busy. Have a good one everybody. :)

Mornin' Sue and all that follow ~~~

Punk definitely earned his name this A.M. Wouldn't take no for an answer when he decided it was time to get up and he gave me a paw to the face (tap tap you in there?).

Glad to hear Piper is a good girl and sticks close to home. I'm still going outside with Punk just to make sure he doesn't try to go under the fence. One trick to NOT teach him in crawl, or he'd be able to do it.

No more neurological episodes for old buddy Zorro since last Saturday (knock wood) so that's good news. Off to the dentist for twice yearly cleaning today and then with Ma to the financial guy.

Keep looking for a fall GTG place Sue. I haven't had any time. It's been crazy!

Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Good morning ladies, and good morning spring break :D
Of course I'm up early, things to do, stuff to pack. The original
plan has already changed, so the honey bear was planning on
a little personal solitude at Roosevelt lake,,,,,and I had a few days to
get my stuff done and then go up,,,,well, he called last night and said
no solitude, I miss you, when are you coming up? Lol, so, needless to say
I'm winding things up this morning and heading up to Superior this
afternoon. Well the thought of being missed is pleasing to my heart.
Maggie cracks me up, every time I pick up her life vest she gets all
excited. Guess as soon as I get back from the store I'll get it put in the car
so it won't tease her any more.
Not sure which day were pulling out, Thursday or Friday, reservations start
Saturday. Its a 12 hr drive, towing a boat,,,,could be longer.
Liz really seeing the lovely parts of Arizona, I'm certainly enjoying her blog.
Haven't heard from Carolb lately, wonder where she is this week.
Time to get dressed and get busy, y'all have a great day and be safe.

Good Saturday morning. One more day of snow and cold before temps go up and the sun comes out! Or at least that's what we're being told! But I'll take it! Sue, sounds like you are moving forward with all the spring projects! I'm slowly getting into some of mine too but always seems like so much to do and Unfortunately I get scattered. Start one always leads to another! Piper isn't going to like it when she can't get over the fence anymore, I bet! Wonder if she'll try to dig her way out! Cheryl, guess I'm lucky that usually my guys let me sleep in! In fact only Rascal is up with me right now! Mr D is still snoozing on the chair in the living room, he'll wander out later! Ava, so sweet that someone misses you. What a nice feeling to have. Looking forward to hearing about your trip. I was wondering about Carolb too, she must be off having a really good time!

I spent part of my day yesterday with my friends that just got back from Myrtle Beach. We had a great time catching up. Sounds like they had a good time, she would stay longer but he was ready to come home! Don't see them spending 3 months down there! At least not him! Not much else got done after I got home so will need to play catch up today! So I'd better get to my day, coffee is done so no excuse! Have a good day all and travel safe.

Good Morning,

I think Carolb was heading toward Death Valley starting Thursday. Sue, I wish I could find time to do all that cleaning. However, the desert is dirtier than usual this year so guess cleaning wouldn't do much good - I'll just keep telling myself that. Hard to believe with our very warm weather there is still snow going on! Ava, so excited for you! I think this will be a memorable spring break for you! :) One of many reasons I don't have a pet is that I don't like my sleep disturbed! Sort of like grandkids, enjoy them and then send them home for someone else to see to their needs. :)

We finished the trailer parts replacement yesterday - fingers crossed as it seems to be working properly. I kept my 'fingers in the pie' so I know what is what in case there are future problems. Once we finished, we went for a ride - beautiful cactus blooms and reptiles (lizards in this case) are beginning to show up. Riding this morning. Tomorrow we put the new, higher windshield on.

So excited to have Liz coming Tuesday and I imagine Marda will be in the neighborhood soon if she isn't already! Anxious to have Liz riding as I think she will really enjoy the 'outback'. Starting to plan where we should take her. She'll ride with LeRoy and I'll ride with a friend whose wife is tied up elsewhere with her mother's estate.

Make it a great day and safe travels!

Good morning, everyone.
Just popping in to see what's going on. Been busy since returning to CA from KS.
Ava, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Sue, you are so creative - I know you'll come up with a way to keep Miss Piper fenced in - glad she doesn't run off too far.
Othersharon, the mention of snow reminded me that this is winter - my first ever without snow - hooray! I could get used to this.

Carolb has been out here. She, Lyn & I met up last weekend on Fiesta Island in San Diego. Then she stopped by my place before heading onward Thursday - said she may not have Internet service for a bit. Loved the precious time I had with her & Lyn. Just a couple of the very special people on this forum. :D

Have 2 granddaughters here from TX on their spring break. Trying to squeeze in as much fun as we can - highlight of their trip is meeting their littlest cousin & having time with their CA aunts & uncle.
Well, I'd better get moving - so much to do before they get up.

Hope each of you enjoy all the gifts this day brings.

Good Morning Everyone!! I have much to catch up on here, but in todays post seems Ava is off to a great Spring Break. Oh, to be missed by someone again, so happy for you Ava !!! Piper, is learning new things, like escaping, hope that soon is not a fun thing for her to do, or we'll be hearing from Sue all the tricks she is coming up with to put a stop to it :D Catherine, having a winter without snow has been nice, but I have had several now and this year found myself wanting to have another snowy winter, a few days anyway

I am again down at my DD's, babysitting today, was a quick change in plans yesterday when she found she needed someone to stay with them. Finally got my meds straightened out. I have to find a dr who will give me meds for a year with 90 day refills, I have had that for so many years and now, this new one gave me for 4 months and to be refilled monthly. Have a third script she gave me for 2 months, others 4 and this one 2, why???, so had a hassle getting it refilled, I am really needing these bp pills and she will hear from me about it, when I make my last visit to her before heading north. If she can't or won't do it, will go to dr in NC as I will always go up there each yr anyway, love the area. I can't deal with their needing so many office visits for nothing, I'm not that fond of drs anyway, like them when I need them, of course but this keeps up I will not need them or pills, just to stressed out about this mess !!

My friend whom I planned to visit when I left Hardee Lakes GTG, after dealing with med situation, had a stroke last Sunday morning. The last person I would ever have expected to have this happen too. She has always taken care of herself health wise, eaten right, walked etc. Just goes to show we never know, no matter what we do. She lost use of her legs, so long rehab ahead of her, but she is very determined. Also some of the right arm. Her speech and mind don't seem to have been effected at all, which she is so Thankful for as all that love her are. She says she has to get through this so I can visit before I leave. She and her DH rv'd too, so they have hook ups there for me, he passed away couple years ago, so she looks forward to my visits, which makes me feel good. We've been friends for almost 60 yrs. I'm still trying to believe this has happened to her!! Once she is settled into rehab I will check with her DD and see exactly where she is at and try to make a visit, if not several.

Guess I had best get in and make sure the kids have picked up all dirty clothes and straightened their rooms up. Thought I would do a couple loads of laundry for DD and whatever. That whatever isn't going to be a whole lot today though, for some reason, slept all night but don't feel really rested. Have no idea why, unless it was the fact I finally got meds mess done and over and had to hurry and pack and head down here in late afternoon Friday traffic. Felt ok when I got here, but after a day like yesterday thinking this should be read a book, nap day. Forget that though

I hope you all have a great day, remember don't take each day for granted, make them special and be Thankful that you have another one to enjoy as you wish,
Those traveling stay safe,

GOOD MORNING ALL, Yes, it was a fun visit on Fiesta Island with Carolb, Catherine and me. They stayed all night but I came home to sleep. The weather was beautiful and the food delicious! Carol introduced a new camping receipe to me. Love simple things to fix while camping.

I gave Carolb a book and I think she is reading it to the exclusion of everything else right now!

I have seen the doctors to get clearance on the knee replacement on April 1st. Am looking forward to it with enthusiasm. All the pre-op tests are done, even one for MERSA.

Rain expected this weekend!!! The weather person promised it to us, however, I'll wait and see.

Been doing my water jogging, walking Casey around the block and reading....not very exciting.

Another morning of taking it easy and resting. I went for a walk around the campground last night and did OK, plus my cough is very slowly getting better. Still get tired easily, however. Being able to sleep at night really makes me feel better.

I have not posted anything on my blog in 10 days, so I went online and did a little catching up. Not much to post, however, when you spend your days in a recliner in front of the TV instead of being out exploring! Got one post from yesterday to finish, so will do that this morning. At least I was able to get my laundry done yesterday and bought some mesh fabric to hang on the side of my awning to help shade things. Good news is that southern Arizona is cooling down a bit. Still plenty warm, just not in upper 80s, which is too hot for me. Feels best to just sit and rest.

I just got back from Lafayette. Just out messing around. Went to an Art and Craft Fair and all I bought was a loaf of Sourdough bread. It doesn't taste much like sourdough to me. There were a lot of booths but it all looks like junk to me. There is a cat show going on today but I forgot about it. I was about walked out from the Craft Fair anyway. I started taking Glucosamine pills on Wednesday but they haven't help any yet. My hip is really bothering me. Stopped at the new restaurant that replaced the one that burned a few years ago. It's nice but the view of the river is not very pretty. The old restaurant had a deck. They will probably build another deck sometime. There was a kid in there screaming at the top of her lungs. Her mother kept taking her to the bathroom but that wasn't doing any good. I didn't know how long they were going to be there so I just ordered a cup of soup and a shrimp and avocado salad to go. I wasn't going to sit through that.

Carol, sorry to hear your friend had a stroke. Hope she can recover from it.

Glucosamine takes about a month or two to really start helping, but it has made a difference for me. I started taking it many years ago, felt good and tried to stop taking it. After a few weeks, I had to start again, lol.

Liz, I sure hope the Glucosamine helps me. The bottle says to take 4 tablets a day for the first 2 weeks and then two a day.

They are showing pictures from the cat show on the news. I wish I had remembered to go. It was a fund raiser for the spay and neuter clinic. That is one place I want to support. They also work with dogs.

Yesterday I bought a new mouse toy at Walmart. It has a place to put catnip in it. The cats have licked that thing until it's gross. I should put new catnip in Annie's babies. She wouldn't be happy if someone was molesting her toys. lol
