Monday and Chore Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I just got back from my week of camping in Sulphur, LA. We were at a nice campground just South of I-10, A+Motel and RV Park. We had a good time and couldn't have ask for better weather. It's a good thing it wasn't too hot because my air conditioner wasn't working. I think there must be a mud dauber nest in there. It vibrates and makes noise when I turn it on. Back to the shop. My sister came to meet us. She had knee surgery about a month ago and all the moving we did helped her. I know she won't admit it but she was walking better after a week of moving around.

There is a new rum distillery on the I-10 service road in Lacassine, a few miles East of Lake Charles. It's Bayou Rum and they have a good tour with free samples. I bought a bottle of the orange flavored rum. I think I will try it in the next rum cake I make.

A balloon ride is not on my bucket list. I don't like heights.

Back to washing clothes and sheets.

Peggy, I'm so glad the fainting came at the end, so that you first enjoyed it all.

And for anyone who wants to take a balloon ride, you don't have to wait for ALB - lots of good places. I did one in ALB and loved it, but am sorry I didn't do the ride at the Quechee, VT balloon festival - and I intend, next time NE for a summer, to make sure I go there again and hope the weather cooperates as I WILL do one there. Different scenery, etc :)

I've been boondocking - and the last couple nights I had a signal near the road, but none by the time I drove off road to where the camping was. It just took me awhile to catch up on Morning Coffee and the General room - and still skipped things to go back to.

I'm at an rv park tonight only because the wind (I've had headwinds for 3 days) picked up again, and I was going to be changing directions and they'd become sidewinds. I can deal with head and tail winds, but absolutely hate when the come at me from the side. This morning had very little winds, and that was great driving, but between all my breaks - I have to check out everything - including Peaches and me taking a hike at a petroglyph site, all of a sudden the winds were back. This rv park just appeared out of nowhere, NV, and I pulled in. It's actually a restaurant, motel, rv park, small store ... little bit of everything... and I have no clue it's name lol. Nothing at all fancy, but I'm out of the wind, and hopefully will get the distance necessary tomorrow before it starts again (crossing fingers).

I have some website work to do for two of the website I maintain ... so will do that also tonight while I have wifi, here. I could probably make the distance to my winter location tomorrow, but I intend to get there Thursday - so will take my time - have a couple boondocking spots to check out.
