I wonder if the dietary restrictions are something new or just this doctor's regiment. I have have had two done (ten years apart) and only had to deal with the last day of prep "fun." There is some relief if/when you get that "alls clear" report and get told you don't have to come back for another ten years......

Beth, I have not had diet restrictions that strict before a colonoscopy. I do know they want you to not eat anything red, food or drink.
Also fecal tests do show blood in the stool, but in many cases if a disease is far enough along that it is causing blood loss, it may be something further along and could have been completely prevented if caught earlier.
Kathleen, my dog is taking Denamarin supplements for his liver enzyme condition and his last blood test showed promising results. One of the main ingredients is milkthistle.
