Wet Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Tuesday

Postby Othersharon » Tue Jun 02, 2015 8:45 am

Good morning all. Looks like everyone is sleeping in or have already hit the road! Staying in bed was tempting this morning, another cool, wet day! Wish this weather would moderate a bit! It's either really hot and muggy or cool and wet! glad to hear Dona made it to her DD's. Bet that baby has really grown! And Lori is in PA with some news. I'm waiting too to hear with everyone else! Good news is good to hear!

Took my friend to the ortho yesterday and back surgery is scheduled for her in about 3 weeks. None of us were surprised since nothing else has worked for her. We just hope it will get rid of the intense pain she's in. Or at least give her a better quality of life. She's pretty miserable right now.

More inside work today since it is much to wet to be outside. My grass is going to be so long by the time I can get to it! Time for a couple of goats again! I have to run to the post office in a few minutes to get my passport application taken care of, then I'll start into a couple of projects here at home. Coffee is on so come on in, the boys will keep you company until I get back! Be safe and have a good day.

Gmorning OSharon, Donna & all to follow :)

Yep, cold & rainy here in NY too! Thankfully no flooding--how are our AL/LA/TX/Midwest people??? And now our other east coasters? Hope all is well... I've caught up on reading, & good to hear about so many of you on the road, fortunately keeping safe through the storms. So exciting to hear about the "maiden voyages"--don't we all remember the excitement/nervousness of our first ;)

Cast off! I'm typing with both hands, but not too well. Doc says bone is healing just fine, but soft tissues are still swollen & will need three to six months to heal from the trauma of the dislocation. Not complaining, just still thankful it wasn't anything worse:) Doc showed me the simple exercises I need to do, PT not necessary. Wearing a brace "as needed," which is most of the time just to remind me to be careful.

Have been so "out of sorts" lately for a number of reasons--one is staying awake til 11 p.m. & sleeping in til 7 a.m. That's enough to totally mess up my mind lol & it especially messes with my online time.

That's it for now...y'all have a great, safe day 8-)

good morning ladies
having a few moments to myself this morning and really enjoying it. Got so much accomplished yesterday, it was
amazing. So, thinking of something to do in the "whats in the area" dept, will spend some time on the computer
today and make some plans.
About time to run in the house for a coffee refill, maybe get some toast and sit out on the patio with Maggie. She is
totally enjoying it, including the two crazy kitties that stalk her and catch her off gaurd. Its totally hilarious. There
are actually 3 kitties but the two orange ones work it as a team.

Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning !!, Beautiful morning here, really stormy during the night and woke me up, which is unusual. Carolb, why are you staying up so late? that's not like you at all. Must be a good reason or I'm sure you wouldn't be. Donna, little ones are like that, I never grab mine right up it makes it scary for them. She'll come around in a day or so. Wonder why you're so tired, seems like you and Soos had times to relax. Hope you get rested soon.

Well, not sure you all know or not, but I have a trip planned and things keep popping up. Yesterday it was the fact I found my house batteries in RV are done I guess. I flipped switch to turn them on and nothing happened. Just setting have had batteries turned off so they would not run down with all the power that is constantly used in there with little lights everywhere, including both Tv's that are on, even though turned off, always a light shines in the back of them. I had hoped to leave the 14th, have to drive through Chattanooga to leave here heading west and have went through there every day of the week and have found to miss so many trucks, Sunday mid morning is the best. The day I decided this I drove all the way through with trucks on each side which I don't like because they may blow a tire and in front and back of me, all I saw was trucks, quite a ways ahead I spotted a small 4 wheeler and bet he decided as I did we were not having a fun time. The following week end I need to be at my first stop. So as time gets closer to the 14th I keep finding problems, wondering if maybe I have made a good choice or not  So another puzzle and fixing chore here.

My little Maggie is not doing the best either. Another reason I was unsure about this trip. She can't hear, she doesn't see and on cloudy days doesn't even see much motion or walls in front of her. She gets around slow but good and has even run beside me, and vet says she isn't in pain, so decided she has always traveled so we'll just go. Telling you all this so you will know what all I had to consider before deciding on leaving here, now batteries no good. Woke up thinking this morning , one more thing happens, maybe I am not meant to go. After being so idle last year, really hate to think that way and I will have quite a few people unhappy with me too :?

Good reason for this trip, is the fact, there is still so much to do here, and I need a nice break :D Too lonesome here too, need company or someone to talk their ear off   Maggie not hearing she doesn't appreciate my conversations anymore. Well almost finished with order in the RV for trip, so guess it would be a good idea to go out and finish up so I can go to town tomorrow and see about some new batteries, There goes a lot of gas for my trip, need 2. Ugh !!!

Well, enough complaining, actually didn't mean it to sound like that, more a stating of facts of whats happening or not at my house and no one to chat too, you all are it for today. You have a choice, you can read or not.

Wishing you all a good day, its beautiful here and it really is a good day, and I am used to problems, as are you all, they usually get solved or solve themselves, so thanks for letting me sound off.

Stay safe,
CArol :)
Oh Alice, just saw your little Maggie, she looks like a younger version of my Maggie. Looks like she is ignoring cat behind her :D

I've been up for a few hours, just moving slow, which is typical of me. Carolb, getting up anything before 9:00 am is "early" for me! 7:00 am would be shocking! :o I am definitely a night owl. About 10 years ago, I was working from home on project work and teaching online, so my schedule was really crazy. At that time, I could tell who else of the instructors and my students were online when I went online, and there was always one person in my department who worked until 2:00 am, as I did, so could send him an email until then. Once a student saw me online at midnight and asked if he could call, which I OKed. He was in critical care spending the night with his toddler son who had had surgery on his lungs, so I did everything I could to help him catch up with work. Teaching adults means all kinds of medical emergencies which we work around.

Still cold and dull here in Ohio, but supposed to warm up a bit to almost 70 later today. I am waiting for the Enterprise guy to pick me up so I can get a rental car. Been reconsidering this state park when I visit my son, but the other campgrounds nearer his house are crummy and cost at least $40-$45 per night, while with my senior discount, this one averages about $20, so a cheap car rental is not too bad because it means my son won't have to keep picking me up and dropping me off. Problem with this one is too many trees make it hard to get satellite, and the sites I want are really un-level to the point where even with boards under tires, I can feel the slant.

Tomorrow and Thursday I watch grandkids all day since school is out. Going to take them to Cleveland ZOO tomorrow, but just let them play at home on Thursday. And then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I keep one kid overnight each night. Heading back to Michigan on Sunday because of doctor and dentist to put in permanent cap so I can eat chewy food. California son is flying in for 10 days of camping in upper Michigan, and bringing those two grandkids, so June is grandkid month! Haven't seen California kids since October.

I'm glad everyone is safe from storms. I haven't watched the news for a while but get CNN breaking news on my computer. Some of the photos are dramatic, and some places look dangerous. I've been staying with my daughter and her husband and two children, but now I'm at Champoeg State Park, which is about 45 minutes away from Portland. It's been raining all night and today but there are breaks in the rain. When that happens I rush to take Koka out for a walk.

Champoeg (pronounced shampooie) State park is beautiful. Large sites far apart, full hookups in some, beautiful landscaping and grounds. I love it here.

Avalen, I love the pic of the cat stalking your dog!

Kind of late here again... (I am a night owl too!)

I was sure that I wasn't supposed to be to work until 2pm today but I got a frantic call from my coworker at 9:05 asking me where I was. Oops! I was scheduled on a split shift today. So I just threw some clothes on and drove to work right away, no makeup and bed head! Was busy too!

Loaded up the camper in the afternoon before heading back to work. Surprisingly, I still have room to spare after loading it up. Put the camper down tonight since it is supposed to rain after midnight. The rest of the stuff for the trip will go in my Jeep (suitcase, food, cooler, chairs, etc).
Will spend tomorrow cleaning my apartment, packing suitcase, packing food, etc.

Looks like I will be dealing with rain for most of my trip except maybe Saturday. :( Glad I have the popup instead of just the tent!

Hope you all have a good night! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
