Rainy Friday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Friday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Fri May 15, 2015 7:06 am

Morning,

Bit wet here this morning. Glad you gals in parts of CA are seeing some rain. Hope you get more. Nature has a way of taking care of itself, just like in TX. From drought to floods.

Will be putting the rain coat on later and heading to town. Few things to pick up to finish up the project I started in my trailer. Drain valve for my water tank is under bed, so cut a hole in side of lower bed box and putting on a door, so don't have to lift up bed to get at it. Did that yesterday as well as clean trailer and put stuff back in from winter etc. will wash insides of windows this wek and put in more stuff except food and clothes. Traveling light. One can do a lot with little. Not sure if I am taking BBQ grill or not.

Jane, when are you leaving? Been enjoying reading about your preps. BJ, hope you can add a little weight. Most of us are trying to get it off. And I agree about the clothes in stores these days. Probably why I wear same old too. Gotten to where I wear men's Dickies pants as they hold up and fit better than women's do any more.

Molly went back to bed. Wakes me up at 6, waitsctonseevif she can snitch my breakfast  has play time, goes out, back to bed  They sure get set in their routines. Have a nice day everyone.

Friday & Summer's Coming

Postby IrishIroamed » Fri May 15, 2015 7:08 am

Mornin' Ladies ~ since Sue looking for someone to open MC yesterday, I'll give it a shot today...

Rainy here overnight, but only in spots. Good to see our CA ladies are getting some rain, hope it's a soaking rain and not just too much too soon and would run off. Fingers crossed you get some more.

Heard from my HOA. I can park Colt her overnight for packing for mini-vaycay next week. HOA---never again! But it was what I could afford at the time. Next time, hopefully just a house of some type on wheels.

Kathy - good news the other day about DH being healthy. BJ hope you can drive the new vehicle soon. I'll be about an hour north of you if you want to come for a visit next week ;)

Have a good day ladies, and if you're on the road, stay safe.
Cheryl

Good Morning
Making a list of what to pack in rv for our trip on the 22nd.. We are getting excited and nervous all at the same time. We decided to split the trip up and stop and spend the night about halfway down. It will give us plenty of time that way and also not having to leave at the Crack of dawn to miss rush hour traffic etc.
lots to do today around d the home front so I had better get cracki6. Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning, rain expected here this evening to continue on through the week end, so glad to hear Ca. has gotten some. I lived out there years ago and remember how dry it can be. Finished my back deck project yesterday, its huge as I asked for, my DH obliged and then left me to do all the upkeep, that's what I get, its a lot of work and payback for thinking I would only have to HELP keep it up :o Cleaned around it and looks so much nicer. Today's project before rain is to do front porch, its small :D but quite a bit of cleaning to do around the front steps. I have two huge pots setting on each side of the front steps that I usually plant something in, still thinking on what to put in them this year. First have to clean them out  Maybe flowers for color out front with the huge green lawn, when it gets in good shape, always eye appealing to me, hope to others :)

Better get moving, mornings moving faster then I seem to be. Enjoy your day and for those that it really matters, ITS FRIDAY !!!!

Have a good one and stay safe,
CArol :)

Good morning to all,

Ack, not moving quickly this a.m. Think I did too much yesterday. All week I have gotten up early and been so full of energy that I did lots and lots. Yesterday I dug out the dirt that washes down from behind my patio's retaining walls to under my stairs-almost 2 full wheelbarrows and I'm talking the large wheelbarrows! Did lots of other smaller projects too, planted the last of my geraniums so more digging in dirt. Today I can barely get the energy up to get out of bed and go do chores. Probably should face the fact that I'm getting older and can't do as much anymore. I have been taking on more and more of the upkeep of the house because DH often works 7 days a week and long hours at that.

I am very pleased to say that Angel got an excellent report from her mechanic yesterday! I had him change her oil and give her a check over and he only found one small item that might need attention. He said I found a real good one! I was so relieved to hear that, fearing there would be something I'd have to fix but everything is in very good condition. Whoever had her really kept up with things. And he only charged $72 for the oil change AND labor to check her over. Oil change was only $31.

I have been looking at metal carports and have found a company that delivers and builds them on your site. They make them in all sizes/heights and I think I will order one large enough for AG, Pony and the horse trailer. I have the room in the yard to put it and it would be nice to have all three under cover.

Enough from me for now. If I don't get busy I'll go back to bed so I better get busy.
Take care all,
Kathy

p.s. Carolb I sent you a pm, hope you are checking MC and see this.
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good morning Everybody, just checking in to let you know that all is well in CT. There are workmen out side my front door replacing part of the front walkway. Hate to tell you how much it costs to replace one small section! I'm making mango sorbet this morning. The mangoes are coming from Haiti and are perfectly ripe. Going to get some more mangoes and try making mango lassi ice; made with buttermilk. Tomorrow will be a fun day. Taking a bus trip to the NY Botanical Garden where there is a Frieda Kahlo exhibit. Kathy, I'll give Carolb a call and let her know about your pm. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Beautiful lilacs are in blossom by my deck... I have two bushes of them... had ordered two more for the front of my mobile home but they died... Is it possible to start a bush from a cutting? any master gardner out there?
Not much happening here... dr office called my daughter yesterday and said they were waiting on the insurance company... such is this long long saga...
Have a great day everyone... I got two hours of sleep last night so a nap will be in order this afternoon...

Kathleen, I love lilacs and they are in full bloom all over around here! They smell awesome!
Have been getting a lot of rain here this past week so things are getting very green and lush! More rain/storms over the weekend too.

My visit with my daughter got postponed until we can find another compatible day to get together. :( Hope that will be soon!

On Tuesday I am bringing my Jeep in to get a new tow package installed. It is part of a recall (so I don't have to pay for it!) and the one that is on there now is so rusted out that the ball can't even be removed or used. So that will be good if I end up getting a popup trailer. Those usually take a smaller hitch than what I have on there now. I am looking at a popup on Monday. Not sure if I can afford it right now but want to look at it anyways. If I really like it, I will figure something out! Already thinking of decorating ideas!

My camping trip is in 3 weeks so I will be getting ready for that soon. Am going to a State Park in southern MN for 4 days. Never been down that way so will be interesting. There are caves there that we will be touring. It is Amish country too, and there is an old historic town that we can go thru.

I was told two weeks ago that I should be able to move into the studio apartment by June 1st. Well, it is the 15th and nothing has been done to it yet. Still bare walls to the studs and plywood subfloors, half the ceiling is still opened up, no fixtures or plumbing, cabinets, appliances, paint, nothing. Nope, not gonna be done in two weeks!

Hope you are all having a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Long way from morning; wish I was among those planning trips, a bit jealous.

Yesterday was a mostly running errands day and somewhat frustrating. The place I've been buying my favorite style of New Balance shoes for 15 years no longer carries them - ugh! Tried to exchange a pair of jeans to Wal-Mart with no luck as they did not come up on scanner; may have bought them in FL without trying on and they are much too big. All tags still in place - thought you could return items at any Wal-Mart but apparently that is not true. Checked on rental house; grass has not been cut - looks awful plus bushes need trimming. Had a couple who were to come to my house first of week and plant monkey grass for me - no shows and still haven't heard from them. Bad enough to have to hire people to do chores I once did for myself but made worse when trying to help someone who claims to need $$ then not only fails to show up but doesn't even call. Good thing monkey grass is hard to kill. I'll keep putting water on it and try to find someone else to plant it for me.

Got several things done today: drive way blown, back yard cut, one load of clothes washed, sanded on a little side table until battery died in Dremel, and another coat of paint on the now green chairs. Betting I cannot move by morning as already getting stiff. Just checked Fitbit - sure feels like I should have more steps than it has credited today. Have also been studying some color samples. Need to get outside of house painted this year; no estimates yet but sure it will be very expensive.

Heavy rain forecast for the weekend. So far just a few light sprinkles at my house.

It's not morning here either. I would like to be planning a big trip but at least I'm camping. We had a crawfish boil tonight and they were really good. That's the first I have had this year and the season is about over. I gave up and came in. The mosquitoes were eating me up.

We have over 60 women at the campground. A lot have the vintage campers. The campers are cute but I have enough trouble keeping what I have on the road. My idea of roughing it would be to not have a bathroom. lol It rained a couple of times today but I think we have a lot more coming tomorrow. I hope not.
