Nothing happening on this Saturday???????

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Nothing happening on this Saturday???????

Postby Carolinagal » Sat Mar 14, 2009 2:00 pm

Hello, anyone out there?
I've waited as have others probably for someone to hope we all have a great Saturday!! Not much happening here, so was hoping for some excitement from someone.
Raining and Maggie and I, got wet going out for her to do her business. See why I waited for someone else to start us off on this thread  That is not exciting or even interesting.

Cedar is at basketball games, so she's doing something. Echo, you aren't sick are you? I thought you were on here earlier today and expected you would get us off to a good start on this day, sure hope you aren't sick. Where is everyone else who rises brighteyed to wish a good morning? Barbz, has the week-end off and I can't remember not having someone pitch in,on her days off. Tomorrow, we have to know we all did do something on Saturday, 14th of March. :D

I just checked on the General thread and Sharon has a way for us to get all of the bacteria off of the inside of our puter screen. I never knew we might have a problem like this, sounded serious, everyone needs to make sure they clean theirs up.

I do hope all are so busy having fun they didn't have time for wishing everyone a Great Saturday.

Stay safe if you're traveling, and warm or cool which ever for your area of this country. (Or dry)

Take care all,

Carol

WOW!!! No morning coffee on here, eh??? Thanks for starting the thread, Carol! I was busy all morning until just now when I decided to come inside and check all the posts of the day! Must be veryone is busy this Saturday.

I have been to the dump, taken Molly to the vet's for her annual checkup and updated shots, then went grocery shopping at Price Chopper, and took a 2-3 mile walk around the property with Molly when I got back. Weather is warm----about 35----with bright sun and deep blue skies! Absolutely beautiful out there! Now I am settling in to read my email and posts, and have me an eggnog, or two!

I do hope that Echo is feeling ok----that falling asleep stuff with a BP reading as high as it was, is worrisome, to say the least. Please keep us posted, Echo, and stay on those docs until they get you back on track.

Hopefully everybody is just too busy to sit down and type today....maybe later we will hear from some others.

Happy Saturday!

Happy travels!

Nothing exciting going on here today. Weather isn't too bad, not sure about the temp but it is overcast. Supposed to be nice on Monday! Ha. I've just been doing the usual Saturday chores...sweeping, mopping, dusting, grocery shopping, putting it away, laundry. I did rinse out a batch of stones I'm tumbling and then set them up for step 2. They are tumbling again. I've been trying to decide what to do with my Dad's room, since he is no longer with us here and I don't need the bed in here anymore. I'd like to turn it into a den. I have a largeish computer hutch that I'd like to get rid of. Actually I'm thinking about moving it out to the front porch and turning it into a potting bench out there. I'd put it out back but I don't have any area covered out back and the weather wouldn't be kind to it since it is mostly MDF wood (I think). Anyway. I still need to vacuum and find the table and counter. My friend Barb and her GD will be coming this evening to visit with my GD and me. We alternate houses every saturday night and visit...have been doing it for more years than I can count. Been seriously thinking about having a yard sale this spring and getting rid of a lot of stuff. I also want to pack up a bunch of stuff that I inherited from my folks to give to my sister. Stuff seems to be more important to her than it is to me anymore. She is having a house built this spring so I'll pack it up and give it to her for a house warming gift! :D Anyway, I'm trying to minimize my existance...but dang it is hard after all these years of "collecting". Plus I still have one of my son's stuff here (his job is on the road), so it makes it even harder to "minimize" when it isn't even all my stuff.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday.

:o  I'm hanging my head in shame, I was probably the first one up, not myself
this morning for sure. I ATTEMPTED to quit the cigarettes  and getting on the
computer makes me light one  I haven't given up on the idea, I'm still practicing
being a non-smoker  I've discovered my triggers and I also know when I don't
have to light up. I think thats a start. I don't smoke when I walk the dogs, its inconvenient, so I've walked the dogs alot lately, and I broke the habit of lighting
up as soon as I got in the car many years ago so thats not a problem. Getting up in
the morning and having my coffee without a cigarette is driving me mad so that
habit is going to be hard to break. But the rest of the day I do fine and especially
during the week when I'm working. I'm determined but its not going to be easy.
Enjoy your day, I'm going back out in the yard now.

I'll be praying for you, Ava. It's probably the hardest thing you'll ever do, but well worth it in health benefits and longevity. We'll cheer you on!

Carol, somebody DID get on and wish us all a happy Saturday...YOU did!

Goooood Afternoon/Evening Sistahs!!!!

No I'm ok. I was up at 4am cause of the noisy neighbors. Sat here and read for a bit. Post too to one of the subjects, I think it was the campfire one? But I wouldn't swear to it now!

I started to fall asleep here at the table so went back to bed for a couple of hours this morning. Slept until 11am actually. :D Since about noon I have been tearing into all the boxes and stuff in my bedroom. Sorting, keeping, tossing and repacking. OMG!!!! There's barely enough room on my bedroom floor for me to sit my butt. It's gonna take hours to get things picked back up and what not!! But we have this weekend and two more to get things around. I have made up my mind to rent a small storage room to put the stuff we are keeping into. But I have a lot of work in front of me still left to do. I am so freaking glad that I don't have furniture that I have to worry about moving. That's all left to the kids. I told David when they are ready we will rent a U-haul truck for the day and move the big stuff. He has all of his motorcycle stuff in the cellar he will have to move too. Better them than me!!!!

Well off to do a little more. I don't know if I am gonna pick up now or later??? Might wait until later? I am so in the mood for Chinese food it's not funny. Thought maybe we would go out for dinner then work on the mess again after we get home. Boy am I throwing out stuff that I never thought I would get rid of!!!! But I just don't want to drag all of it around the country with me!!! LOL

Rainy, drizzly, gray and overcast day out there. It has been doing that since yesterday. I haven't really complained cause I know that we need all the rain we can get and this is a good slow soaker. I just know what's gonna happen tho. It will rain like this then the sun will come out, dry and warm everything up good and the world will seem to explode around here. The buds on the trees and the flowers will burst out, every color of Spring will be reborn. I can hardly wait!!!!

Ok, back to work!!!

Hope everyone had a good day. I hope everyone has an even better evening!!!! Stay safe and dry.

Love to all

ps. is that ok? did i do good? hehehehe

Ava,
Best wishes on your quitting. I remember doing it many moons ago - and it's not easy. Went cold turkey myself - after several other attempts to cut down, not smoke at certain times, etc - discovered it was all or nothing for me. And I don't want to tell you this - but there are still some times that I really crave a cigarette (I quit in 1989!) but I will not have one. Good luck, g/f -

As to my day - well, it started off cold - and I mean cold. Had my heat off when we went to bed, but sometime during the night was just too cold, so decided to treat myself to heat - turned it on at about 55 degrees, crawled back under the covers with Peaches - and never felt any warm air - got up - cold air blowing, fridge was off - figured out of propane - so turned off heater, grabbed yet another blanket, and couldn't get warm. Got up and started the engine and ran the rigs heater for about 20 minutes. That helped enough that I could turn it off and get back under the covers and sleep a couple hours. When I got back up, fridge was back running on propane. Need to find out if the propane works like the gas with the generator works - was the heater calling for too much and it shut down cuz it was so low? Anyway - propane kept working for the fridge, and after fulling it, it works again for the heater. Never happened before, so something I need to find out.

Also had trouble with my generator on this trip - so will be checking into that with the service people.

Oh, and I played bingo tonight - you know - my absolutely favorite (tongue in cheek) pastime! We did have a few laughs though.
