Sunday, now....and remember the clocks!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday, now....and remember the clocks!

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun Mar 08, 2009 8:24 am

For most of us, it is about the clocks this morning. This one always takes some getting used to. Us retired folks have a better grace period to adjust. I remember how hard that first week is, the body fights it. So here is the coffee and the hot water for some tea. I only brought a few sweets but did bring a plate of fresh fruit. I want to support those that are trying even if I don't seem able to control my own hand reaching towards the.......
I am planning to stop by a the big annual tack sale at the fairgrounds. The daughter used to lease horses for her 4-H project, so no I have none of my own....but you never know what gets brought to the sale. Just interesting stuff! If I am smart I will head off early before the rain. The temps are suppose to go up to 70 in SW Ohio! Enjoy your day where ever you are.

Morning all ya'll. DEPARTURE TOMORROW!!! Am so ready to hit the road. Looks like the weather will be iffy. They're predicting rain but they do that a lot here in Texas and we never get any. We're so dry but I really don't like driving inthe rain. This morning its cloudy and humid and warm (67 at 8:30). Have everything packed up except the icemaker. I'm sleepy this morning cause its one hour earlier than the clock says so I'm reaching for another cup of coffee. Everyone have a great day.

I woke up this morning to.....silence! The wind has been blowing so hard I had to put my stabilizers down or I would have been seasick. The waves roared so loudly I closed my window so I could get some sleep. Now, all is quiet. I hope its not the lull before the storm. See you tomorrow, Karen.

Good morning all!

I've already had my rant about the time change on another forum, so I won't go into all that again....need to allow my blood pressure to get back down to 'living' levels! Suffice it to say that I am adamant about changing the time in March rather than April, or at all.

The people getting ready for the TX GTG must be getting excited, as is Karen!! I sure do wish I could be joining you all.....what a neat group of people are going to be there, getting into all sorts of fun things!

It's still above freezing here today, for about the 4th day in a row, and the snow and ice are melting like crazy. If the driveway weren't a quagmire, I could even consider trying to haul the trailer out of its winter garage to its summer spot next to my house. As it is now, I will be lucky to get my truck out of here tomorrow morning to get to work! I am praying for some below freezing temps tonight to solidify stuff out there for the morning. But Bird says it's predicted to get into the 70s in Ohio tomorrow, and that weather usually hits us a day or two later! It will be an interesting time, for sure. Will pack all the things I can today in the truck so I'll have less to carry out later.

Happy rest of your weekend, y'all! Thanks for the coffee, Carol! Tastes good, even if it IS almost lunch time!

I will add this Robert Louis Stevenson poem that is running through my head today like some of the songs are going through others' of your heads:

"In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candlelight;
In summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day
And hear the grownup people's feet
Still going by me in the street."

I can remember living in Cambridge, MA, and hearing the feet going past me on the brick sidewalks when I was in bed with the windows open. Also the iceman's clippity-cloppity horse's hooves going by. Good grief, am I REALLY that old????
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning all
its really cold for me this morning, my heater not keeping up, its been like that for a
few days, then I realized the day I opened the a/c to cool it down from a warm day,
I forgot to put the plastic back over the a/c intake so the heat was just zipping out
into the world. Got that put back and can now feel the difference, plus I put more clothes
on
I have no plans today, maybe later I'll figure out what I feel like doing. Lots of stuff
that NEEDS doing but just don't feel like doing it.
The dogs have all gone back to bed, they decided it was just too cold in here so off
they scampered. Pixie shivering under the blanket so I got the warming bag out,
gave it a minute in the microwave and popped it under the blanket with her, she's
like'n it :P
Coffee refill and a little toast and I'm off to read stuff on the internet.
Enjoy your day, and be safe.

Good Morning Sisters!

Looks like we are headed into another mild day here. I'm fighting the urge to go take the cover off the Chalet and pop up the roof and walls. Ohhhh,... that would probably make my "hitch itch" even more unbearable. OK,... I'll do laundry instead.

Have a great day all.....

Morning. I'm slowly getting this little place organized. Bought a new product - to clean my water holding tank - will also help clean both the grey and black tanks and all the lines. Have always done it with bleach and driving - this one I don't have to drive. First I fill the tank with the detergent and water. Then I run that through all the lines and into the grey/black tanks. Then dump it and completely empty the holding tank. Then I have to fill the holding tank with plain water and empty (might do that twice) to make sure all the detergent gets out. Then I refill it with the sanitizer they provided and do it all over again. I'm thinking of letting the sanitizer sit in it overnight, then emptying that one tomorrow, and doing the water twice tomorrow. Specially since I'm not driving it around to slosh it - figure extra time wouldn't hurt it.

Then, after Sparkle gets here - I really do need to get a door for over where my old tv was. I have lots of space in there, want to be able to use it as storage without things falling out. We chall see. If I do it, will take before and after pics (if I remember :) )

OK - off to get my day going - albeit late. All I've done so far is walk Peaches, fix breakfast, hard boil some eggs - and be a bum :) I sure like being a bum. I'm ready for this workamp job to be over for the summer.

Thanks for the reminder about the time or I might have forgotten and, as I am invited out for a prime rib dinner at a local restaurant tonight, that would never do! I took my watch off weeks ago, and now tell time by my dog LOL. If she says it is time to get up, we get up.

Will keep this short as wifi loses 3/4 of my posts before I get them posted. It is snowing here but we communed with a dozen Canada geese on the lake already on our morning walk today so wanted to add my wishes for a nice Sunday...

PS I hate motorcycle teachers who cancel lessons on the only decent day (yesterday) in weeks! If the snow melts and it warms a bit, I will be out there practicing without the weakling who believes ppl should only ride when it is 'fun' (ie warm and sunny)...and which is the 'weaker' sex'? I figure if you pay $50 an hour for lessons, they should not be fun for him OR for me LOL!!

Good afternoon! I didn't lose any sleep this morning, just got up an hour later. What I gave up was leisure time persusing the newspaper. Had to get myself in gear to get to church on time...a little early actually 'cause it's my month to do the flowers. Used fresh cut azaleas from my yard and dogwood from a friend's yard.

So now I'm home...stopped at the grocery on the way home to get some things for company (brother & SIL) coming this evening. Did the last minute clean-thru and now I'm ready. The house wasn't too dirty because I just got done the whole house ceiling to floor marathon to get rid of the construction dust.

Hope you all have a great time at the TX gtg...wish I was there, but I'm in saving $ mode for the AK trip. I hope your weather holds out. Sparkle, if it's too quiet you better look out the window and make sure you haven't floated away.

Beth, that sounds like a lot of steps (& work) to clean out your tanks. Did you learn that at the seminar you attended? So much to learn...

Thanks for the fresh fruit this morning...I've finally gotten past the craving for sweets. I always do if I can hold out long enough. I'm back using my Wii and can tell I've gotten very rusty. The Wii person noticed too...

Hope you all enjoy the rest of this beautiful day.

Nah, Liz, I discovered this product - and had always wondered if what I was doing with bleach was enough - so decided to try this. It is quite a few steps (more than they call for) - but I actuallly am feeling like I'm getting things clean inside there (even if I can't see it). I added the step to clean the black and grey tanks - figured if I have the water holding tank filled with detergent - might as well dump it from there to the others - and guess what - my black tank, after the first time through, is showing empty for the first time in months LOL

At the seminar I went to - they suggested filling the black tank with water and detergent monthly and letting it sit overnight then dumping. I just skipped the sitting overnight part - as I'm filling and emptying it at least 3 times. Left it an hour with the soap - didn't give any time on the rinse, and now it's in the santize mode - for a couple hours probably. It's not hard, and not really more time consuming than when I was filling with bleach water and then driving it around.

But I do use my water holding tanks for water I use for cooking and even drinking - so I do like to keep them cleaned regularly. Seems that what I was doing was working, but after sitting so long this time - I just wanted the extra steps here.

Gooooood Afternoon Sistahs!!!!

We are home. And we are beat to the butt tired. Kelly ended up driving a large chunk of the trip home. She got extra sleep yesterday, I didn't. I made it to just above Harrisburg PA but had to pull over for a nap. I scared the crap out of myself and that was that. But the monster rumble strips I had to go over woke her up so she took over. We got home about 2:30pm. Kelly went straight to bed and left orders that no one is to wake her up. Said if she sleeps until tomorrow morning? Then so be it!!! After all the sitting and what not I no longer have ankles. I have what resembles clubs at the end of my legs. Sheesh! I hope that after sleeping tonight and being in a prone position that I will find my ankles again tomorrow morning.

Came home to totally beautiful weather! OMG, I think Spring has sprung. So nice out there and have absolutely no energy or interest in doing anything out there other than sitting. Dogs both begged to go out back so I let them out. They both went down on the deck and stretched out in the sun and simply laid there. LOL I think they are ready for Spring too.

Also came home to a "For Rent" sign in the front yard. Oh boy, what a reminder!!! Have got so much to do and very little time to do it in. I really should be off my butt and ripping stuff up to sort, pack, throw, donate and all that happy scheet! But bless me I have ZERO amount of energy. ~sigh~ Maybe I can start and get into it a little later. To tell the truth all I want to do is lay down and sleep. Yeah I know, I slept in the Blazer. But it wasn't very good sleep. And I tired. Since we have gotten home I have made myself some coffee, had a bowl of cereal and then went to sleep here at the kitchen table. I really need to stop that? But it does guarantee a short nap. If I were to lay down I would be out. Then I wouldn't sleep tonight. hehehehe

Ok gonna go off and check out some other stuff.

Hope ya'll have a fantastic day today. Enjoy and stay safe. Warm too or cool which ever is needed where ever you are.

Love to all

ps. good grief i thought that this had posted!!!

I used a product specifically made for this, made by Thetford and Camping World sells it - and it had me use 10 oz of the detergent for 40 gallons of water - here's what I used: Fresh Water Tank Sanitizer. It's on sale right now. You get 2 bottles - one cleaner, one sanitizer. I liked that it doesn't have bleach, as I know bleach isn't good for some of the tanks and seals, etc.

One purchase will clean everything twice for me (with the size of my water holding tank). So far I like it. I wouldn't be afraid to do my own detergent, but I don't know if you can buy the sanitizer by itself. Will have to look into that.
