Monday and Another Week Begins

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday and Another Week Begins

Postby Colliemom » Mon May 05, 2014 7:20 am

Good Morning,

Cloudy here at the moment, slight threat of a shower. Hope it just passes by. Have work I want to do on the trailer, mainly take it's winter cover off and get it ready to take to dealer tomorrow for Dewinterizing etc.. Weather will be warming up greatly this week. Looks like I might be able to put in screens and open the house for first time this week :D

On the news front.. Talked with Soos on FB last night. She was in Fredericksburg, VA. Making good progress toward her northern home. Tonight's stay will be in Jonestown, PA followed by one more night in NY and then on to her daughter Mandy's. She asked that I say hi for her and to tell you all that she will check in when she gets some good internet service and time to sit down with her computer. Should hopefully know pretty soon when the C-section date will be for the birth of her second grandson.

Catherine, you should be really proud of you nephews and their BBQ accomplishments. Hmmm, now maybe we should book them a site at the KS GTG, Ava, you sound like you are having so much fun getting your new home all put together the way you want it and so relaxed. CArol, when I are you going to find out when you can go get your drivers license and hopefully salvage some of your summr plans? Mitch, definitely get rid of those snakes before you get over run with them. Wouldn't want the "little pest" to run afowl of one of them. Sarah, sending prayers for your neice and also glad that you are getting things cleaned up from the storms pus getting Magic all nice and spiffy again. Hopefully you can get back on the road again one of these days.

Guess I had better get moving here. Bed change day, got a few dishes to wash, trash to put out etc. The will get out and start removing cover in a while. Bit chilly out there right now. But just uncovering the rig lets me know springs here :D Have a wonderful day all.

Good Morning Sue and Everyone. another beautiful morning here, but they say it will be cooler mid day, then what it has been. Cooler in Fl. is not like in northern states :o :P ( 2 degrees is cooler) Sue, I will be in Fl, much to my dismay until next Spring. Cataract surgery can not be done (due to shingles) until fall and then winter months in northern states will be upon us and my diesel engine has no heater on it, and can't afford to have diesel jell up on me, as it tried to so many times last winter. I haven't quite accepted this fact yet, this is not where I want to be this summer. But things happen, and we aren't always in total control of our lives, so how we make do, is what counts. What I need is a driver !!! good looking one, easy on the eyes, one of those male species :P :P :P that will be pleased to do and see WHAT I WANT TOO, don't think one exist does it ?????  have to include, that will sleep in top bed, with all my junk !!! Sure don't want much, right?????

Sarah, I was so glad to see your post, wishing you had time to post more so we know you are ok. Still praying for your niece that she will be able to have chemo and get through this ordeal. I know you are relieved also to get Magic all clean and shined up. I was sooooo happy to get my RV done and a good wax job on it , to fight off this Fl sunshine. People love the sun, but my black RV will not like it much, I'm afraid.

Mitch, I am so glad your house is the distance it is from the pond. Finding a nest of snakes is not good. Do you have any idea what kind they were? Being near water they could be any kind. Hope your neighbor is able to help get rid of them and also might know what they were. Hope you'll let us know more of the snake saga, I will be curious until I hear, so nosey !! ;) :P

Well really no news from this area, I'm alone this morning, so enjoying my computer time. Maggie and I, have done all our morning stuff I need to set with a calendar to see what I should do about getting a way to my DD's. 'Sis and DH are expecting company the 23rd of this month, so thinking I should be clearing out of here soon, so they can ready everything as this is special, to them, company coming. They, of course, have said nothing about me leaving but I'm hoping to be considerate.

Wishing you all a good day, hope also the weather is nicer where you are. Its certainly been bad in so many places, I know many are ready for some sun and decent days,
Take care, stay safe,
CArol :)

Good Morning from sunny and soon-to-be hot Florida. I am a grounds volunteer here at the Conference Center and try to get out at sun up to get my time in before the mid-afternoon heat wave. However, today I will be going back to the dealership at Wildwood to really go over the 5r and B+ inside and out with a fine tooth comb and flashlight. Taking the advise from some experienced ladies on another thread, I will also be taking the B+ to a mechanic to have the engine and tires checked out. If all goes well, I'll be signing on the dotted line later today and praying that this it the right thing to do. Just ready to have this all settled so I can get on to my "new" normal - whatever that is.
Wouldn't mind having some cooler temps from Northern Michigan, Carolinagal, if you could arrange that please.
Wishing you all a wonderful Monday.

Fancy free, I'd love some cooler northern Michigan temps too, I was born up there, but unfortunately I'm stuck in Fl for right now.

Good luck on your hunt for the right RV for you, if I could, would join you over in Wildwood and help if I could to see things you might miss. I love looking at different rigs :D
However I have no way to meet you over there, and I'm not that far, darn. Be sure and keep us posted, I will be waiting to hear, I'm so nosey and always so happy for those who find just what they wanted or as to near to it as they could get.

Good Luck,
CArol :)

Good Morning... need another cup of coffee... and oatmeal

Need an iMac engineer... the adobe flash player puts a small icon in the middle of every video... maddening... have spent two hours trying to find out how to uninstall the thing... I cannot click on it to drag it to the trash!!

Looks to be a pleasant day here in Normal... I will sort the reams of papers from the mail and eye doctor and start reading...

Sue thanks for letting us know where Soos is... Fancy no matter how we go through our rigs there is always something to fix or replace... the nature of the rolling beast... but it sounds like you have everything under control... CArol wish it was a tad bit cooler for you... I do not like cold or hot... hard to please... Sarah a clean Magic... how nice... wish mine were done but that will take time... the BBQ video was nice except for the adobe flash icon in the middle of the screen...

Me and My Shadow say to myself it is time to quit complaining and make oatmeal... have a great day!

I'm in chilly Ohio near my son's home. Can't believe how busy I have been, both in Michigan last week and here. Have been neglecting my classes, so trying to catch up today, but there are a couple of things I meant to plan out weeks ago and just realized I have forgotten, so got some scrambling to do. Also, need to go out today to a nearby small town credit union to do some depositing of checks that were waiting for me with my mail with my son. Credit unions are very nice because you can use a lot of ATMs at no charge across the country and even make deposits far from home. Oops, just remembered that I have to get to bank to put my valuables in from old safety deposit box. Then RV dealer on Thursday afternoon, pick up granddaughter to spend night, and take her back Friday, meet movers at storage locker to rearrange some stuff, then Friday night watch kids at their house, and Saturday parents come home and I collapse!!!! Sunday is Mother's Day brunch.

Whew. Back to work right now.

Phew Judy, you are making me tired. If I get one thing done in a day I think I'm doing good. Tomorrow I have to help my son bring his dog to the vet and Wednesday I have to bring our dog to the vet. That's almost a full week for me.

It's another warm and breezy day here. After all the complaining about rain we could use some. It doesn't take long for things to get dry when the wind is blowing everyday. I think there is a chance of rain Thursday and Friday. I just noticed the local weather and radar is back on the Weather Channel. My DH will be so happy.

I had strawberry pie for breakfast. If I'm going to be bad might as well start early. I like the fresh strawberry pie at the Piccadilly Cafeteria so I tried to make one. The recipe calls for a cup of sugar and that makes it way too sweet. Will have to work on that.

good morning ladies
glad to hear the message from Soos via Sue :D
So sorry Carol that your stuck for awhile, if I was on that side of the US, I'd certainly drive for you. Hope you can find a family member
that can come and get you and the rig soon. I guess Florida is not the place to be in the summer? I'm thinking it must be hot like AZ only
with humidity.
Gonna have to go searching for something about snakes and Mitch. I'm not afraid of snakes but I wouldn't want any surprises either when
I get up in the morning.
Had a really full day yesterday with Darren the handyman here. Got all the rest of the little bits and pieces of carpet gone, the door window
was reset in its frame (had a small gap), and the big set of shelves were installed in the shed. Still need to rip out the small set but I can
now re-organize the shed and get a few more items out of the 5r that don't need to be in here. Darren hauled off the old big 26" tv out of
here, and I've already picked out my new one on sale at Target. Will get that on payday. Brought over my two lattice panels from sons
house to cover up the chainlink fence, I will need to buy more but two is a start as they aren't cheap. Saw a plant at the store I wanted
and stopped and picked that up. Its called Mandivilla, common to southwest and Mexico but have never seen it before. Reminds me of
the clematis I used to have in Colorado only these blooms are deep red. Its a vine.
Image
Need to do a little more research on it before I stick it in the ground cause I want it to be in the right place as far as its needs for sunshine
or not goes.
To end the evening, we took a dip in the pool and the hot tub, he said he could see why I liked it here, not to mention being away from
the chaos over at sons apt.
About ready for a nap now. Ya'll enjoy your day and be safe.

Beyond morning here.

CArol, so sorry your life has been turned upside down but glad it's temporary even if long! Mitch, hope you are getting those snakes taken care of!

I got on the road in the wind again yesterday. Decided to stop at Thousand Trails in Las Vegas for the night. Got all set up and then discovered a wind advisory starting at 9 a.m. this morning for Vegas, Death Valley, etc. So, I got up and on the road at 6 a.m. - that is twice in a week's time and way too early! :) Would have called the whole thing off, but I had a reservation here for tonight.

Settled in at the RV park at Furnace Creek (the commercial one with electricity), the wind is definitely blowing and it's 99 degrees. Tomorrow I go to Scotty's Castle and then head north to Yosemite unless the wind is going that way, too! :D

Got quite a lot done today with sorting things and getting rid of things in my bedroom. Packed up my winter clothes.

Then headed out to play golf. Our first night on the new golf course. It is beautiful! High up on a hill surrounded by woods, a lake, a horse farm, etc! They even have a resident wild turkey there. The weather was perfect and saw the most amazing sunset over the lake just after we got done playing! It is a challenging but fun course. It was pretty soggy from all the rain and got my feet a little wet and muddy. I am bringing my camera with me next week to take pics. Will be even prettier once all the leaves come out on the trees! (even saw some nice looking men out there! :D ).

I will be plenty sore tomorrow tho! But for a good reason! :D

Ava, those are really pretty flowers! I wonder if they are related to the Bougainvillas?
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
